don't have numbers on the top of my head but is it doing considerably better than Kamio Yui or S8?
those just died early because they didn't have cushions and empty line up
Shoseki estimations for all 3 (I know we technically have an oricon number for S8 1&2 but there's no point comparing shoseki to oricon)

Yui Kamio's sales were much worse and showed no improvement at all. Samurai 8 was from the author of one of the best selling manga of all time, advertised to hell and back, sold mediocre and then nosedived. I think we can both agree Yozakura is doing better than both without problems.
Thought the art of Phantom Seer was great but the writing was serviceable at best. Let's see how it goes.
and damn, I'm currently reading all of the new series and not a single one gets on my nerves as much as Me x Roboco. He apparently thought of 3 jokes while preparing the serialization and one of them is namedropping other series all the time.
Agravity Boys. But I think it's far less consistent, completely unfocused and wastes the presmise, but despite all that I still enjoy reading it very much.
I do like Cop and Dolphin too, but that's more of a comedic action with the battles and a narrative already taking over.
MANGAHELPERS "TOC" POLL ISSUE #39 - NEW SYSTEM TRIAL
Ironically, James Ryes made a entire comment suggesting things when i was already thinking about some stuff in the last days, the suggestion kinda gave me the wish to try put the ideas in work, i talked with @Halloween about it and he liked the idea of trying it to see if goes well, so we will shake things this week and try a new system of voting, isn't anything complicated, here are the rules:
1. We will not call it "votes" anymore, but Jump Points aka "J-Points", alongside giving more style for the vote is also to change the impression that the number of "votes" a series get is equally the number of people who voted, is not, is about how much points the each users give.
2. You will get at total "30 J-Points", this not counting the traditional poll at the top of the voting thread, this one will still exactly the same, you vote for 5 chapters and each series means 1 point.
3. For the comment voting it's where things change, you will have "30 J-Points", but here's the deal, you will not simply make a top 5 ranking from 1st to 5th, you will, with the limit of 10 points for a series, distribute these 30 J-points at your wish into as much series you want, which means if you want to distribute 30 points between 5 series you can, or if you want to 10 you can too and etc, the limit is the number of points.
4. As quickly mentioned, the limit of points to a series is 10, you can't give more than that to a single series, this is made to assure that users will not do something like giving 25 points to X series and the other 5 points to the rest, so the most you can do is give 3 series 10 points, but it means you will only be able to vote for 3 series since your points will go to zero, so think wisely when distributing your points.
4. The final results will be the same like always, total of the poll and comment voters.
Remember, it's a fun thing we're doing to see how it goes, if users end up not enjoying much or if something goes off with the voting and results, will just go back to normal, so give it a try.
The voting thread will be open in minutes.

MANGAHELPERS "TOC" POLL ISSUE #39 - NEW VOTING SYSTEM (TRIAL / TENTATIVE)
So we went from 37 poll+top5 points to 35 poll+J-points (at some point in the future I gonna get you down to 30/20 points per person, just you wait, Shinuki :P). It is interesting that now we can give more series points instead of just 5 with the maximum being ten per series which means you only voted for three. Will be interesting to see how people might use the system to give either lower points to many series they enjoyed but couldn't really vote for before besides the poll because of the top5 limit but I have a feeling many will use the top5 way but with different distribution maybe to have some sort of guidance for themselves, like 10-10-5-3-2 for example. But then that is up to each Person themselves.
Will you/Halloween make a poll next week where we can vote how we feel about this system after voting is done like "I didn't liked it, I want the Top5 back" "I like this, let's keep going" "I like this but it could need some tweaking in the system" as options or something similar?
A special article page for Agravity Boys in this issue, thanking for the 6th placement in Tsugi ni Kuru. Atsushi Nakamura hopes that people will buy the next volume, and announced the work on the V3 will start this week.
I was agreeing with you on your old stance, so don't let our resident Yozakura defense force bully you into liking in it
it's a shitty title that's surviving by being less shitty than insta axed shit
I still think it's around mostly due to luck and would've been cancelled any other year, but it's clear by now due to the stable (albeit slow) growth, and them continuing to promote it in various ways that it's unlikely to be cancelled any time soon.
Sales aren't amazing or anything but they are a level above everything else besides Mashle and Undead at this point, and with 12 series less than a year old (and two more established series ending soon), there's enough cushions to keep the luck going as long as it continues to be stable. Flops have let it last 1 full year already, they can give it another year or even two.
It's the new 30k club. Probably won't grow past that level, but 30k club is good enough (especially right now) to get a full run as long as sales don't drop. It'll fill up a little space while Jump tries to build back up a proper line-up of hits over the next couple years.

I agree with your general idea about how it's surviving.
But if you've browsed this forum, you'd know that there are actually quite a few number of people here that like it. So, at least try to phrase your comments in a better way than to bait fans into responding to you.
It's as cringe worthy of a move as what many twitter "personalities" do to get hits and clicks.
Also, to quote someone I idolize - "Don't yuck someone else's yum"
I liked Honomieru but the first few pages had strange panels. I don't know how to explain the feeling that I had while reading it. After some few more pages everything got better though. As mentioned in the comment section there and maybe here, there are some similarities between this and other mangas, including even AT. But at least this one I can read.
HBCP's plot is finally getting more defined. I like it.
I agree with your general idea about how it's surviving.

but about your point about being sensitive to the people that like Yozakura (or any title for that matter)
every manga is liked by someone, if we stop ourselves from speaking how we really feel because of that then we wouldn't say anything ever
and what about the vice versa? should the people that hate a title get offended by someone liking it? should the fans of something censor themselves because someone out there hates it?
the people getting offended are associating their personal identities with franchises they like/dislike which isn't a healthy thing to do
Yozakura is not canceled, because he has reasonable sales and because Agravity boys are worse off.
However, Agravity Boys is not canceled due to the fact that manga is worse off than his.
currently it is easier to cancel Moriking than Agravity.
And you still have to see if the sales of Ayakashi triangle, magu chan, Shakunetsu and Roboko will be better or not.
And the sleeves of this new wave are unknown. I saw a lot of praise for the 1st chapter of Phantom seer, but everything can change from the 2nd chapter.
My bottom line on Yozakura is that I don't care who else does or doesn't like it because I do, and I don't care why it has survived or whether or not it deserved to, because I'm glad it did.

I think I already responded to everything you posted in the post you quoted and in the previous page
so I don't know what more to say without repeating myself
Obviously there is a chance some of these might die but IF all the newbies that seem to be surviving from this year survive, would this be the most successful year in recent WSJ history?
Ayakashi, Magu-chan, UxU, Mashle, Cop and Dolphon etc.

Sure. Your argument was everyone should be allowed to voice their opinion.
I was just pointing out you can dislike something, criticize it maturely without baiting fans. Simple.
And I gave an example of what is not a mature criticism ("shitty title") from your previous comment to drive forward what my comment was about.
There's been an update to our forum rules to broaden crediting/sourcing to all series news/announcement, etc. Please read HERE
