Witch Watch is definitely my favourite of the 3 series so far, but also probably the least unique?

I'm curious what the regular chapters will be like, if it'll mostly be a slice of life series about silly magical shenanigans like this one (mixed in with some chapters of serious drama of course, since that's Shinohara's thing).

This week's Elusive Samurai chapter definitely feels at least a little influenced by Demon Slayer, with the focus on strategising during combat in order to chop off the enemy's head.

This is arguably the best round we've had in a while.
There is the spokon for next week still pending but all newbies this round so far have been interesting.

Witch Watch was a lot of fun. The female is super one dimensional but it's also partly the reason why the chemistry works.
I tell C chapter was great as well. It felt short tho.
Elusive Samurai chapter was a great preview of what the battles involving the MC would end up looking like.

Samurai fiction in general is going to have heads rolling sooner or later, hell pretty much anything with swords is and there have been many fantasy/sci-fi works that beheading is the only way to defeat whatever mook is populating that universe. Doesn't seem like something to pin on Kimetsu

Witch Watch is so far the best serialization of the round, not that i didn't like The Elusive Samurai but this feels a lot more "consistent", you can feel it's from a veteran author, everything feel solid, Shinohara art at its best, the comedy was nice and characters are interesting, i honestly can't see this flopping, Shinohara fans will be all over this and it will please the average Jump reader that will be looking for a new romcom with cute female characters

Sakamoto Days - Best chapter yet.
Witch Watch - That was a fun opening chapter. I think it have potential to be a great romcom manga. Definetely my favorite from the new batch.
One Piece - Yet another great battle chapter. Things gonna get harsh.
My Hero Academia - #300 was good with some nice encounter.
The Elusive Samurai - It was an okay introduction arc. Let's see what's gonna happen next. It have potential.
Build King - More worldbuilding, but the pacing is so strange. First half was super slow, then it picked up, but it's still a messy serie as a whole.
I tell c - Well, it wasn't bad, its decent, but not enough thrilling for me. I don't think it'll last long.

I liked Witch Watch first chapter, it was funnier and more gagy than i thought it would
the world will get explored and the cast will get bigger and the stakes will get higher
but even if it didn't I'm perfectly happy with just the episodic adventure of the 2 mcs doing goofy things

this round is 3/3 so far, although I C U P second chapter have me worried
we have already seen the fmc plot twist so doing the same thing again isn't as impactful, the mystery wasn't explained and was immediately solved
I assume the lolita dude will be explain better next week

which reminds me, why wasn't Ron chapter on MP? and by association they also didn't do Amano author comment which kinda sucks

Speaking of author comments, was this already known before? Yabuki and Shinohara being brothers-in-law?

We live in a world where a fan book is outselling a new One Piece volume.

Goddamn.

I wonder if we've ever had family members serialised in Jump at the same time before.

Pretty weak issue. A few big chapters, but the best again was Roboco (actually made laugh out several times, especially the sumo guy) and Sakamoto.

Witch Watch
is what I expected from Shinohara. I find all his work super competent and professional, but extremely bland in execution. Did not get anything out of this one either, and its genre doesnt make it interesting enough for me to stick with it, but I can still see it ending up as a hit.

I thought i tell c's second chapter was terrible. After 80+ chapters the characters still haven' t done anything besides acting out there one quirk and the detective part is entirely absent and what little nonsense there is, is done offscreen. No idea what this is even trying to do, but no way it survives even 20 chapters like this.

Elusive Samurai is the only one I'm actually interested in, but I find the execution shockingly amateurish for Matsui. Its just so silly and repetitive how much emphasis it puts on the premise and the concept, constantly spelling it out over and over again. And I can't believe that those two supporting characters still haven't had a proper formal introduction.

Super interesting that the reprints didn't initially chart when they first came out, but have since charted several days later on several different occasions.

First week completed (4 days of sales)

Hard-Boiled Cop & Dolphin

Vol.1: #63 > #91 > #118 > #209
Vol.2: #69 > #145 > #200 > #257

Me & Roboco

Vol.1: #44 > #90 > #105 > #149
Vol.2: #56 > #76 > #97 > #147

Phantom Seer

Vol.1: #76 > #93 > #170 > #86
Vol.2: #30 > #67 > #66 > #111

Kokosei Kazoku

Vol 1: #118 > #199 > #265 > #418

Cop & Dolphin had some rough drop in the rankings but curious to see how it will do in the weekly estimation, it will probably do similar to Magu-chan, sell around the same, slightly less. Roboco started under the first vol but quickly showed it's doing better and Phantom Seer improving a lot. I think Kokosei will be the "4k/5k" club like Mitama and Moriking.

How did Magu-chan do anyway? I remember it being probably about the same or slightly worse than v1, but I don't remember exact chart numbers.
