Pretty interested in seeing what Fukuda's new oneshot will be about. Hopefully not something pull of overly-complex drama or plot points. If you ignore the tedious first third of Double Taisei, the latter two-thirds where it didn't take itself too seriously were actually quite fun. Plus, I really enjoy their artstyle. The gothic clothing they drew in Double Taisei were really appealing

Double Taisei was certainly a strange series, it was clear after the first chapter that the author didn't really know enough about shogi to make a series of it which makes me wonder why they ran it. Then it seemed to give up on the attempt halfway through after it being badly received and spent much of the rest of the run being an almost gag-manga.

Definitely one of the more baffling runs of recent years.

That sums it up pretty nicely. The gag parts were actually funny, but the body-swapping drama and the first few serious shogi matches didn't work for me. Haga was a gem

I wonder if any of the current series will still be running by 2030, or if Time Paradox will be right that the whole lineup changes.

Honestly, despite OP apparently being near the end, I can see it potentially still being around at that point due to the slow pacing and release schedule. 30-36 ch per year means ~270-330 chapters until 2030, and that's only 3 arcs with One Piece's current pacing. Maybe even just two since they keep getting longer.

There's also the question of if HxH will still be having occasional returns from hiatus in 10 more years, or if Togashi decides it's too much for him any more and officially ends the series early (since there's no chance of it ending normally by then).
BLack Clover should. It was positioned as the next Naruto and was described by the author as wanting it to run just as long, so 2030 puts it in that territory.

I don't think anything in the magazine, spare Nine Dragon's Ball Parade, has the potential to be that long (if it does every yeard of high school)...maybe HeroAca, if Horikoshi does a HeroAca next generation Boruto style. Would love to see BakuDeku kids and KiriKami kids running around.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Gege extended it at least an extra year though. MHA to me, seems to look like it could end in 3 years, tops. MHA would end around its 10th anniversary, and OP for all we know could end by then too. So yeah, Nak is pissing himself right now.

Nah, I give it 3 years at least. I get the feeling Horikoshi wants to at least reach the 10-year mark/500-chapter mark.
eeeh i don't think a lot of mangaka care as much about that stuff as much as we do.
I think he'll make the story as long as he needs to make it. We don't know what he has panned. but i can't imagine that if all he needed was 450 chapters for the story he had in mind that he would just drag the series for 50 more chapters just for the sake of hitting 500 chapters.

I just hope that if nothing works out, he eventually teams up with a writer since I don't wanna see his art go to waste. And maybe having another editor besides Isaka to launch will help.

How does Mashle's growth compared to series like Jujutsu, Dr Stone, and Black Clover?

It seems to be the biggest hit of 2020 by a decent bit so I'm curious how it performs against how the current long runners did early on.

When I say ultra edgy I kind of mean on the lines of a say CSM, maho shojo site, AOT type series. Nothing in jump goes near that lvl. Even JJK has a very shoneny vibe. I kind of mean a very seinen like series if u will that serialzes in a shonen magazine.

I would rather a game and/or mystery because CSM was one of the incredible out of the millions of trash edgy shonen manga. I personally feel that a mystery a strong suspense series will fill the empty void I have in jump rn.

Does anyone think we will get another CSM ultra edgy type series in the future considering the recent trend in dark fantasy or maybe jump even dive into the death game genre like shonen magazine and bessatsu shonen magazine did a while back as a replacement of the promised neverland. Idk I feel jump needs a new thriller/dark hero manga for both diversity reasons and for a “can’t wait to read the next issue” type of manga. Idk I feel jump would benifit from that.
I love thriller manga as much as the next guy, but other than The Promised Neverland and Death Note before it I can't think of many Jump series that fit into the genre. Same with the CSM ultra edgy-type series-- I feel like Sakamoto Days is the closest we're going to get or need to get at the current moment.

I would rather Jump focus on establishing a good rom-com and spokon, along with some more traditional battle series, to build their standard library back up before they start trying more experimental series again. I've been very excited for Witch Watch and Ball Parade just because Jump feels kind of empty without those genres.

Doesn't Ayakashi Triangle just sell a couple thousand less and started like 5-6 months after Mashle?

Current Oricon top-10 (by Manganimy):

The gap between Kimetsu and JJK has actually lowered from 11 million copies at beginning of the month to 9 million copies. I still think JJK has 0% of getting the 1st spot, but it will at least give a fight for it.

Also, 2021 JJK has already sold more than 2019 Kimetsu.
can you link me to this google sheet?

a confirmation they're going beyond where the original anime ended

I doubt we're getting anything memorable

emergency oneshots that get published when a series is suddenly absent are there so Jump can reach their fixed pages count
they're not long like a normal oneshots, but short like a weekly chapters

they're literal fillers, sometimes they publish special chapters from Saikyo and Plus to increase the pages, sometimes they don't even get a mention in the ToC

I wish every axebaited ended with a bang like Taisei. Hardly anything ever top Haga 'live in a society'.
