Oh wow. RIP Phantom Seer. It was not my favorite but it was a decent read every week.

Also, I can see both Build King and HBC&D ending in two chapters. Personally, I'd rather we have a bit more of C&D. But I guess we'll see soon enough.

Disagree.

Build King is pretty much at end game right now, Tonkachi has revealed his hidden power, the powerful antagonists are right there, all thats needed is Tonkachi and Renga master to show up and nothings left.
This can basically be said about Cop & Dolphin even more, i would love to see the series going on, but the ending it's on everybody's face and being just 2 new series, there's no reason to end more than 2, unless BK sales are atrociously bad, there's not much sense in killing BK with 20 chapters in order to keep C&D just for the sake of it, but let's see, is Shonen Jump, everything can happen lol

2 new series? so is basically Phantom Seer and Cop & Dolphin that is quite obviously ending in x chapters, i don't know what's with this obsession with axing Build King this fast, is almost like you guys forgot how things work with successful veterans, unless Nakano gone mad in the last months...
Most veterans' flops do run longer than a typical rookie flop, but they also usually do well enough at first to get a colour page or two before dropping to the bottom. Build King however plummeted to dead last by ch 10, and has only even left the bottom 2 once since then (where it was 3rd last). Compare that to Cop and Dolphin which does sometimes hit bottom 3 but mostly seems to have settled in 6th-4th last. Sure that's not great, but series have lived for a year before always on the edge of the bottom like that.

Build King has also been massively rushing everything in the past couple chapters which is a really bad sign. Cop is doing major plot developments too but it's not rushing as if there's only two chapters left, while BK is.

I still think either could go, Cop has always been near the bottom after all, but BK has too many signs pointing against it to say it won't end because 'veterans get longer'.

Although it's also possible that we'll see both BK and Cop end anyway and Jump will just have an empty spot for a while again.

If you asked any person about Phantom Seer ending in 2 chapters 1 day before the climax announcement, i don't think anyone would say "yeah, sure" and here we are, Kamio Yui just started it's big final battle in the middle of the final chapter and in the next page it cut to the victory party and The End. So we shouldn't underestimate how rushed SJ cancelations can be, one chapter the pace is regular and in the next, speed of light.

You can feel the lack of a moderator in the thread, but still at least not even close to as bad as when before Buranchi became mod.

Btw, just saying but is annoying how Yonkou never put the color pages of next issue in the posts, since he knows is 2 series, he probably knows the preview page

It was just a few days ago that I predicted Blue Box might be part of this batch, haha.

Sad that Jujutsu isn't getting a cover next issue, but it might be for the be best since Gege had to take a break this week. Congrats on 40M! He deserves it.

i tell c looks like its slipping, and Kowloon premiered with an average ranking at best... I really hope it goes up ;-;

Other than that, The Elusive Samurai is starting to look like a genuine hit! Looking forward to seeing its volume sales. Happy for it.

The days when we had an active mod in the thread. Already miss it.

Gone but never forgotten. Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened. We were a small but dedicated fanbase and I’m happy about the product our two authors worked hard to bring to us every week.

I could write essays upon essays on my feelings about the announcement and situation, but I would prefer to just write about my enjoyment the series brought to me for the latter half of a very pandemic-filled year. I will miss the potential narrative that was being built, but I’m happy that our authors have realized they have a prominent fanbase behind them in JP and overseas that will support their future works. Rest assured, this isn’t the end. They’ll be back with fresh ideas and with hopefully another intriguing cast of characters.

I will once again buy the third volume for support and hopefully the last chapter can wrap up a good ending for our cast. Thank you Shueisha for at least giving it a 23 page conclusion since that’s a privilege not many short series get in this magazine. Thank you!

Tbh kinda surprised that Phantom Seer will not have (or maybe didn't leaked yet) a epilogue or something extra on GIGA/Plus like Agravity Boys, Mitama, Higuma, Zumou and etc, but well, personally i hope they come back with the vampire one shot from GIGA

Speaking of Agravity Boys, do we know when the GIGA epilogue is meant to happen? Or has it already been published and we just never got it?

Official AB account just said few days ago the GIGA info will be lifted on April 2. Expect the upcoming issue to have a GIGA page (which is timed around this date)

In a weird way I appreciate all the discourse over the past week surrounding Phantom Seer, as it has helped me brace myself for this all-too-soon ending. It really did feel like it was coming into it's own this arc, and now it's gone. It's Jump, this type of thing happens, and the rankings have been writing on the wall for a while now so I can't act surprised, yet it's one of those series that comes around every now and then that hurts to part with. I wish the best of luck to wherever the duo goes, together or not, as I do feel they have what it takes, I suppose WSJ just isn't the place for them. I'll probably have more thoughts on Sunday once we see the chapter

As for the next series to go, it's a toss up between Build King and Dolphin. Dolphin has had a foot in the grave for months now, and seems decently close to the end. However based on the pacing, it could still go a bit further. On the other hand, Build King is still young, but it's breakneck pacing and awful rankings give the feeling it's done for, even with a veteran author. Regardless of which goes, I would bet that there's another batch not that far out, probably in May/June after the double issue, where whoever doesn't go, Magu, HSF, and maybe a flop from the recent batch will kick it
