I expected Red Hood to do bad, just not last place kinda bad. Honestly, if I was in the author place I would have went for the fujoshi audience instead and now my comment feels like something written by shark and I'm conflicted, but I still stand by it.

Not much to say this week. Most chapters were decent, but with nothing really special to remark on.

Dr Stone, on the other hand, threw a bombshell at us. Not sure how I feel about it... but I'd advise them to think this plan through a little more, since they don't even know what they'll be facing.

Sakamoto also gave us a reveal, albeit not as dramatic. And we have a new employee, because of course we do.

Red Hood was very interesting. I like how they put a spin on the game (even though the 'solution' was pretty f***ing obvious from the start).

Candy Flurry is sticking with its bizarre sense of humour till the end. I'm glad. And she pulled a Zipman! Hahaha! You go, girl. I always did wonder why they were only showing that particular kind of lollipop.

PPPPPP discourse is sure to be something whatever it ends up being. I've been craving a gag manga from Asou Shuuichi once again so hopefully it provides some of that energy. Either way, good luck it to it and presumably another series starting because now is a really tough time to find a slot in the magazine. RIP to Candy Flurry, not that it's surprising or frankly up to scratch compared to the rest of the magazine, felt like it never did find its identity up until the end.

Shame about Red Hood and NERU, I'm hoping there's only one cancellation this round because I don't think either deserves an embarrassingly early cut, but things are not looking great. Until we find another early hit I wouldn't be surprised if we just cancel the newest series each round which hasn't been the case for a couple years.

Its actually only 2 on SQ, one from 2019 & other from 2020, and he published 2 one shots on Shonen Jump, 2019 & 2020 too, so is 50/50, personally i think he will comeback to SJ that is his home but only he knows when will happen

Great:
One Piece - Another great chapter. The flashback was spot on. Yamato as a child is a pure cutie. Oda finally showed us a certain someone I believe. We got to see what is happening on the different floors too.
Jujutsu Kaisen - Megumi said it himself - Itadori is getting destroyed. Those punches he took, those panels. Nuts chapter!
Sakamoto Days - The beginning of this new arc is lit! Crazy battles with those four death row inmates are on the horizon
Blue Box - Beautiful chapter. Those Chinatsu panels are just lovely.

Good:
The Elusive Samurai - That was some hella of strike from Kojiro
Witch Watch - Yup, we got the closure of the battle this week. A satisfying one I'd say.
Neru - I really like to read this manga and its vibe. Shame that most likely it'll be axed...
Red Hood - Some nice strategic thinking from Velou. The start of the exam is pretty good.

Fine:
Shokugeki no Sanji - When you got Sanji and the Kamabakas, you know that is gonna be hilarious
Candy Flurry - Well, seems like they'll end it in volume 2.

About ToC #41:
It was an expecting one for Candy Flurry, but it is a really big shame for Red Hood and Neru. They deserve more time to fully unveil their potential. Otherwise I'm happy for SD, TES, WW and BB. They are doing really good.

Seems like the color pages of issue #42 will be Sakamoto Days, Ayakashi Triangle and Me & Roboco.

Also seems like there is no 2nd new series, only PPPPPP, at least nothing in the #42 preview

Its very possible that Golden Future Cup 2021 will start, last year it started at issue #42, maybe is the reason, left a open space for the one shots and after is finished they start a proper new round of serialization

Red Hood's first chapters doomed it. The art is good but also a bit confusing sometimes, maybe it needed to clean up a bit.

I think the first chapter was hype for many people. I think where the series failed was staying in the village too long and having more than one of the werewolves to fight was just an odd decision.

Sadly, it also just showed that the character writing is the writers weakness and in the jump timing, you need an incredibly strong first three chapters and compelling world building to get people to stick around to see you grow as a writer and see that you can learn to write compelling characters (see World Trigger, BLue Exorcist, BLack Clover, Haikyuu!! Boruto, HeroAca Vigilantes, HeroAca, Bakumon)

People like cheap figures, affordable and they can stick them all around.

I think its more time consuming production for folks like Kotobukiya etc to find a sculpter, contract out all the parts, get the bust on display at WonFes or the other one, get the product delayed (Alter -> Later) etc. Expecting that for a series barely in yr 2 is surprising.
