According to some people who have the latest volume, it looks like the manga is already ending

According to Boku no Hero volume 32 extras the final act was originally intended to be 5 volumes

Translation from the extra

"Final act. I thought it'd be about 5 volumes but now I'm not sure anymore."
"What will happen to Deku? what does it mean to be the greatest hero? Will the Ganriki lady appear in the story?"

I remember people trying to guess when the manga would end, what would be the last volume, and now with this new information, when do you think the manga will end? 2022 or 2023? How Horikoshi wants to finish the story but still has a lot to happen
the volume comes out monday in japan, how do people already have it?

Books are often put on shelves early so that they completely stocked up on the shelves by the time of the official release. Most of the big selling series are already #1 on the Shoseki charts one day before their official release due to books being put on shelves early.

I had initially thought it'd be Dr Stone would be the quickest to end since it's generally the fastest paced, but if MHA's final arc was really planned to be just one arc and not a full length part 3 that makes it more of a toss-up. It could still last a while of course knowing how battle shounen can play out, but it doesn't sound like it'll be 200+ chapters long at least like part 2. Could we possibly even see a late-2022 ending?

What's everyone else's guess on who'll end first between the series in their final arcs? Jujutsu, MHA, or Dr Stone?

That's probably since when he wanted to end the manga on Volume 30 but I guess with Oda's push at the interview to go for 50 he decided to go for 40, even though I would love for the manga to have 42-45 Volumes. My bet is on 2023, either in issue 35 to celebrate 9 years or the last issue of the year. I hope I'm wrong and he can go for a 10 year serialization if neccessary until July 2024.

Dr. Stone most likely.

I don't follow JJK, but MHA has a slower pace than Dr. Stone so even if it were the final arc, I doubt it would end sooner. In general the final arc of a battle shonen takes quite a bit of time.

My guess is that Dr. Stone will take about one year to end, while MHA should still be around in 2023.

And to think Yozakura is probably going to be the 3rd oldest series on Jump quite soon (not counting HxH) and Black Clover will be the last one standing from the older generation :fan

Obs: If we dont have any surprise in the middle ofc...

I think he will try to make it 40 volumes, but from recent chapter spoilers he's in a hurry to end it so it might end before it.

Hori has said multiple times he doesn't want a series of One Piece or Naruto length, so I think he's serious about ending it sooner rather than later.

Hori bad at judging time but I don't think he's Oda lvl bad at misjudging time.

Let see what his Jump Festa message is, as if I remember correctly last year said we are heading for the end, he will give a more defined answer I bet.

At the very least I highly doubt MHA will be going on for more than a couple years at most. He definitely wants to wrap up ASAP

I feel like end of 2022 would be a reasonable time frame for MHA.

I think MHA will end around volume 40. Going by his original assessment, we would have 3 volumes left(chapters of volume 33 have already been released weekly), so about 30 more chapters. If he thinks it may be longer than that, it's not going to be THAT much longer imo. So yeah, maybe an extra 30-40 chapters on top of that.

"I'm not sure anymore"

Horikoshi himself isn't sure if it'll end in 5 Volumes

Yeah, but it'd be weird to go from 'I don't know if 5 is enough' to, like, 20 or something.

I had this discussion on stream last week after the chapter. It was the first chapter I really felt like “damn this could be ending soon”. I think it’s a minimum of 50 chapters though still.
