Ah, I'm really curious about it...

From the look of the page, it's just whatever they're calling the next 5 issues having 1-shot's featuring in it, a "festival" for the gathering of new authors.

And no, I don't think this is the equivalent of Gold Future, since this is not a contest (at least not from the looks of the description).

BTW, it's written "Jump Great 1", not Grand.

Oh, thanks guys.
Looks like I'll be buying Jump a couple times during the Jump Grand.

To me, the first one-shot appeals to me the most, art-wise.
I don't think I can get used to Ultimate Chaser's artwork though.
And yes, I tend to look at artwork first, then, the plot.

Artwork ususally gives me the first impression of manga and it seems the 4th oneshot manga doesn't interest me.

Others are fine but not great. look forwards to reading those shotmanga

Based on the pictures... The most interesting one shot is the first and the last one, but yeah we can't know what'll be good or not.

Also, Medaka ch. 3 and Akaboshi ch. 2 are both enjoyable (for me) to read.

I kinda doubt that... not unless they're planning on changing the format as well.

Also, it's too early for it. It had almost always been in the summer, starting around issue 35 (the same time school children have their summer break). I mean even for 2006, where Gold Future wasn't formally held, the 3 1-shots started with issue 39...

Ya'd better not censore Inumaru Dash or I'm not translating it...
The chapters are short but wordy, which is why it's hard to. It seems for whatever reason it's started to be scanned consistantly, right after I did the last like 10 chapters preceeding it. What's with that...

You can't censor Inumaru, it wouldn't be the same (even if the detail is small). While on the subject of Inu, Chapter 3 of Medaka looks delicious, I guess moar Shiranui does the series good.

sorry, i got a quick question for the guys in this thread...
i remember in the v.1 09 WJ discussion someone gave the number of cover from bleach to the least cover. can anyone give me the numbers again please. i need something to prove to my friend that bleach isn't being underrated by WSJ

I daresay, that was rather cruel, but funny nonetheless. It seems to me like when the plot surrounds the formula of chapters 1 and 2, it finds itself somehow lacking. This chapter feels like a breath of fresh air without even having the translation yet.

hmm... it'll be a bit hard (or, rather, tedious work) because other than clicking through the shueisha archieve of covers and manually count them, there isn't anywhere that I might be able to pull the number right out. It'd be easier if you're asking about color pages (actually, a lot easier), but cover?

Also, are you asking for the number for currently running series? Or just a certain year?

I don't mind looking up stats for people, but at least give a perimeter to make my life easier

What's with the censorship talk?

Oneshots all look interesting to me, aside from the first. That's just not my art but it can very well be that this particular character scene is just this way and not the whole art.

Other than one of them, Matsumoto Naoya, who was the winner for rookie of the month in 2005 and had his 1-shot debut in Akamaru Jump 2006-Winter... I couldn't find much for the others.

(Matsumoto is also a former assistant for Sawai of Bobobo)
