Bleach is way past what it should've been. After this arc, he still needs to address the King's 11 (?) guards, also Ichigo's father, which he'll most likely turn out to be one of the guards.

At least 3 more years of bleach. 3 more years of panels full of speedlines and no plot. woohoo!

Hold on, let's get something straight here, Kishi never said the manga is nearing its end. People mis-intepreted after the less accurate translation was posted which said:

It won't continue for long(this is just my interpretation and it can relate to the interview or Naruto... not sure... but it probably means something else). Then he says something about the interviews and how they are the same every year and that he would like to finish.
However what he really said was:

"I've no intention to continue this (series) over a long period of time" <laughs> Well, though this is said every year, right now is the best part of the story which I want to bring forth. Do stay tune with the series till the end."
This is no way implies that the manga is nearly ending, but implies it won't be as long as One Piece and I don't think anyone expected it to be anyway. Furthermore realize the laugh and him admitting he says that every year thus him saying things about the length of the series doesn't have much credibility as he himself kinda confesses to and looks like he enjoys playing around with the fans a bit.

well........... it doesn't really matter either way.... but always good to see kishimoto still has a personality left after all the crap he's had to make recently (excluding the most recent chapter)

on an aside (but still partially related) I'm beginning to believe that Komi Naoshi is the most regularly appreciated mangaka about at the moment (on here at least).... which is really something when you consider how he's only done one serialisation and a massive bunch of one shots... and's still so young

Kishi wanted to include some stuff but was able/allowed to. Maybe it's not all his fault if the series has gone down, but at Jump Festa 2009 he said he was writing the best part of the manga, and seeing the latest chapter, I've got high expectations for 2009. I think Naruto is finally going to become really strong, among the elites. Though first he must defeat Pain. :tem

I think all of you are forgetting Bakuman. That's been doing just as well as Toriko in some instances. I am really curious to see how their popularity rises when they both have been around long enough to get an anime. Especially Toriko. It doesn't seem as popular as it actually is in the polls. I wouldn't be surprised if it got a Jump Festa OVA next year.

I also have a feeling that Komi Naoshi is going to pull a Zombie Power and come back with a Big 3 status series. He has done a few oneshots in the past few months. He's probably looking towards another series in Jump. Well, that is if he doesn't go over to Jump SQ.

Anybody wants to give it a try? I don't really get it...especially the penultimate line is really strange. : /
Quick (and shabby) trans of what I read in it:

Short news concerning the short news

#8's ToC hasn't been decided yet
・大体今週号と同じくらい>割と高位置
Main part (of) this week's issue is similar (to last week's(?))>relatively high positions decided [?]
・6・7と面子一緒らしい>8ドベ5
(面子 <-> no idea what that's supposed to mean) [???]
・前後篇で2号連続>葦原読切
Ashihara's one shot will be continued in 2 issues

Take your Naruto, Bleach and One Piece plot discussions to their respective forums, please. All posts containing such discussions will be deleted without warning.

This thread is for discussing Weekly Shounen Jump, the magazine. You can discuss the fate of the Big 3 relative to the magazine, but please do not add in plot discussions which may contain spoilers for people who don't read those series regularly. Thank you.

So far, Bokke-san has been my favorite '09 series. It seems like Nishi has a better idea of what he is going to do with the plot than he did with Muhyo. It also seems like he has made his art a little more mainstream. The concept also seems like something people will like better. I really think Nishi is going to do well with this one.

I've been hearing from different sources that there is WSJ this week (I even saw some Naruto spoilers), what's wrong with that double-issue that counts for two weeks then? Why is it different this time?

Last week chapters were a double issue, but we got spoilers this week, because usually the next WSJ goes out to printers early before Christmas to be on schedule, thus the WSJ is able to be leaked. After this week though we will have a two week break.

have we entered a time loop where the scratch and sniff is brought up constantly, or am i just getting weird amounts of deja vu?

still it's pretty awesome, and a very original idea! always nice to see more terrycloth aswell! (ah more me becoming a fanboy)

slightly more on topic, Toriko's evidence of being really popular continues with THE MOST PLAIN AND UNINTERESTING FLASH GAME EVER! that's also the most difficult flash game ever, even in it's simplicity of click 500 times in 20 seconds. it's on the main jump website so go give it a look people.

(in fact whilst i'm plugging shit head over to www.animenewsnetwork.com and check out the latest RIGHT TURN ONLY! for my poorly written spurt of man-love for Beet the vandel buster was included!)

You need to score 5 consecutive punches within the time limit. (Note: it's not equivalent to 5 mouse clicks.)

Owww... my RSI was just getting better... -_-
