Also, I found something interesting site about AKABOSHI. I'll be honest, it is written in Japanese.http://2style.jp/h_renka/ausp.htm
My computer won't display it right. Anyone know what it says? I'm kinda curious to know if it really is interesting or not.

Seems to be an appeal to support Akaboshi because it's supposedly in danger... nothing that interesting (assuming googles translation and my undersstanding are at least going into the right direction :D)

Re: Weekly Shounen Jump [2009] - Discussion & TOC Talk v.2

Yeah...it's generally "Let's rescue AKABOSHI in the following three steps:
1. Send in those evaluation cards with AKABOSHI at 1st place
2. Write fan letters - that person heard from a friend that would matter in order to stop the cancellation...it's quite funny, since it's stated "Even if you only write one word and use no proper note paper that's fine" lol
3. Propaganda and advertisment - make AKABOSHI more well-known"

All in all...yeah, definitely not really interesting.

Oh and as for the Tankou sales for the next week...I kept an eye on this 24 hours live sales charts and Psyren's been high in the beginning but it's already dropped.
I'm expecting Sket Dance to sell better since it's constantly quite a few positions above Psyren. (Link for those who didn't save the link)
Top 5 had been the same all the time: Naruto -> Bleach -> Bakuman -> Tenipuri -> ES21

EDIT: caught the hell up with the topic. is it me or are the majority of manga-ka... not exactly lookers....

especially my favourite of the bunch, buichi terasawa.... he scares me
When your paid to draw comics 24/7 every week, all year personal hygiene and appearance are hard to maintain. Except for Kubo and Hiro Mashima apparently, but they're really the same person so it hardly matters.

It looks like Kubo can draw pretty fast ( according to that one video) so, it's no wonder.
Same goes for the series, I say he's pretty much half-assing his series. No offense, I still do read the manga, but it's really lacking.

It should be this one:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wx6NSVHyU0A
Then again, it's only one drawing but still. If he can draw a cover for Akamaru Jump that fast, well, who knows?

No, I don't think there are other videos of mangaka drawing. Then again, I never bothered to check.

EDIT: Watched it again, it's just coloring his picture. So it might contradict what I just said earlier.

Jumpbang! has a lot of weird Jump related footage that might be interesting if I knew Japanese. The guys dressed as pirates and talking parrot are delightful in any language.

So am I right in saying Bleach is pronounced Breach, since it's said like bu-ri-chi?

No. "Burichi" is just the romanization of how it's written in Japanese. Since they lack a unique "l" sound and "n" is the only consonant Japanese words (usually) end in.

[eni]It's written bu-rii-chi (first 'i' is long) since the 'u' and 'i' sound in Japanese are very faint to the point that you don't really hear them. Additional to that, there's no distinction between 'l' and 'r' in Japanese. I have a Japanese book here where it's transcript 'aligatoo' not 'arigatou', both is technically correct and just using different transcription systems.

So while it's written bu-rii-chi, the actual pronunciation lets the 'u' and second 'i' kinda fall away while the 'r' is no different from a 'l'. Makes it sound close to the English word b-lea-ch.

From the inconsistent spelling of Ishval/Ishbal in the FMA Edited Mangas, you can also see that 'v' and 'b' also share the same kana. You have a similar problem in the DGM manga where Hevlaska was spelled Hebraska by Manga Editors first and nobody really knew whether one of the characters was named Lavi, Labi, Ravi or Rabi before the official spelling list was out <.<

Not to forget the never ending debate on how to write the title of the Elemental Gerad manga correctly since the mangaka said he doesn't care. Be happy that Kubo made it clear in terms of spelling and pronunciation >.>;

Back to topic! :clap [/eni]

I think this week's issue is probably longest in this week. There are 21 series ongoing, and two series are having 12 extra pages, there are two Wajimanias, plus one 40-50 pages one shots.

lol I love watching that show, even though I cant understand Japanese its still fun to watch. I enjoyed the episode where they interviewed Kubo and the one on Bakuman as well. I also like the theme song for the show, its called Jump and its orginally by Van Halen, seems appropriate for the show.

They actually use Van Halen's "Jump" as the theme? That's just hilarious!

Speaking of Jumbang (there's no p), they're doing vomics (voice-comics) for Beelzebub next month. I've mentioned it before, but they've done Inumaru Dashi, Toriko, Bakuman, and I think Naruto. Plus a lotta stuff from not-jump. They're nice to see, as a kinda semi-anime. I know Naruto at least used the actors from the anime.
Inumaru's apparantly is starting a second round, usually they do 4 and update each week in the month.

Yes they do and Im a fan of classic rock so when ever I hear the song on the radio it gives me just a big smile because it reminds me of that TV show and my favorite manga magazine.
@Kewl0210 yeah the vomics are perty intresting. I find the show very entertaining, I mean who wouldnt find a couple of guys dressed up in pirate suits funny. Only In Japan do they have TV programs like this.

Watch the Reborn! episode. It features the voice actors and it turns out that one of the pirate guys actually voices Skull in the series. Watch this episode if you want to see the presenters of the show "dub" a scene from the anime (Tsuna with Skull's voice). I can't believe they actually featured the theme from The Godfather and Say You Say Me from Lionel Richie.

Is Koneta will release tomorrow or one week after? Because of double issue, I'm not really sure when bottom 5 and TOC for issue 39 will be release.
