Do the new volumes go on sale the first week or second week of October?

Always the first week of the month.

I will be very disappointed if VIZ does not announce Neuro has been licensed at New York Anime Festival this weekend. They have not had their panel yet, hope remains.

2009 Issues 42 and 41

2009 Issue 42

2009 Issue 41

Working backwards, here are issues 42 and 41. Soon I'll put up 40 and 39, but that's as far back as I have for this year. So it's only onwards from here, with a few really old issues that I'll eventually scan. Enjoy~

Re: Weekly Shounen Jump [2009] - Discussion & TOC Talk v.3

I feel i HAVE to point out to people that a) following amazon japans rankings is pointless and retarded, b) gin tama didn't have that many copies of the first volume printed and couldn't meet demands apparently and finally (because I've been gone a while) c) that there are fairly comprehensive explanations of Togashi's absence out there, including one by me, none of which involve mental illness and that generally dismiss other sorts of illness in light of togashi-ism at shueisha and his unfavourable working conditions in light of that.

also I return. SWEET CHRISTMAS!

Re: Weekly Shounen Jump [2009] - Discussion & TOC Talk v.3

Like promised yesterday, I can bring some good ol' covers from 2004 out there. I'll do it in batches of 10; so here is 1-13 (04-05 is missing since the cover got shredded in the mail. :'():
One thing that'll strike you immediately is the variety of series that got the cover back then...makes you wish this was the same nowadays.

So nice to see covers for Bobobo, Death Note, Prince of Tennis, and Ichigo 100%. Nostalgia is setting in.

It's suprising to see Beelze being in bottom 5 and Naruto having a cover(?) n color page AGAIN for the next issue.

wowzers, quite a fall for akaboshi, Medaka remains constant Kagijin (lol) Sket Dance and Beezle don't have much to worry about, but the next cuts are going to be really amusing.

If Akaboshi keep doing this low for next few weeks, it'll going to be end after Ryouzanpaku arc. And Medaka is still low. Well, looks like only their tank sell can save them now. Plus, Beelzebub has been not very high recently.

Plus, is there only two colours on issue 46?

Re: Weekly Shounen Jump [2009] - Discussion & TOC Talk v.3

Kagijin still showing no signs of life.

Psyren has the color page so Sket or Beelzebub dropping may have been a factor since it has been low these past few weeks. Not that I'd worry about either of them atm.

Akaboshi falls below Medaka this time.

I'm really wondering how HnS is doing. Only 3 more weeks for it to be properly ranked. I'm curious if it will be a dud or not.

oh wow. i'm really amazed at Kagijin being able to maintain last place forever.... i don't think i've ever seen a series that stayed at that spot for this long without absolutely no progress.

Akaboshi dropped down below Medaka again. seems like its hope of survival is starting to faint.

Well Akaboshi is back near the bottom...sadly I'm not surprised. Medaka is still pretty low and there is no hope for Kagijin. Sket and Beelzebub have become the new yoyoers.

Lots of series have bottomed out this long. Remember Hoopmen ;)

Re: Weekly Shounen Jump [2009] - Discussion & TOC Talk v.3

Yeah, Kagijin and Akaboshi are both pretty much doomed. Everything else sorta has a shot. I can't believe Beelzebub is so low, it should be higher really. When it gets to the current arc it'll probably do better.

Naruto getting a cover again? What else is new... I wonder if there's any reason for it this time... I don't think Naruto's celebrating anything right now.

And apparantly Reborn's announcement is that there's gonna be an art book.
