It is confirmed that Tokyo Ghoul Jack, a spin-off which serialized in Jump Live, also going to release as volume, like El Dlive. However, this one will only released as digitally, not paper printout.

Well, this year's Comic Con wasn't quite generous when it comes to seinen (I'm not interested in Kodansha USA's shounen-fest), so seeing at least this is nice. At least one new manga I will be buying (next to this year's Vinland Saga, Wolfsmund and Gundam: The Origin "newcomers"). Terra ForMars is enjoyable, gory, fun, self-aware read. Also, first volume is set to be published July 2014 (according to Viz Twitter).

I wish USA would get more into seinen, but well, hopefully Vinland Saga does well and that could open doors to Kodansha's seinen library (or at least some of the titles, I'm not as idealistic as to think Kodansha USA will suddenly start releasing ton of seinen). Historie in hardback would be nice, wouldn't it?

I also wish Viz would take up more Young Jump series though, namely Tokyo Ghoul and Kingdom; nothing would make me happier.

See, the only Young Jump series I *really* want them to get are too weird or too long to license (being Beshari, Kingdom and 81 Diver), so I'm not holding my breath. Though... Mongrel would be nice, if that ever does well (not looking good right now for it)

I'm not sure. It looks like Mongrel isn't doing good at the ranking.

It doesn't seem like ranking matter much for young jump too since your Innocent pronostic went wrong. Aside from shonen jump, TOC means nothing. There would be some japanese threads dedicated to other magazines TOCs if they were significant.

Well, I recently followed Young Jump ToC, so I'm not too sure whether YJ considers the ranking as much as Jump or not.

However, I believe there going to be two new series starting soon, so let's see which series going to end/axe in order to make room for it.

I've never been able to tell with Young Jump as to whether it counts or not. I hope it doesn't, and it's just that horrid Weekly Shonen Jump mentality that's got me so worried about where Mongrel sits nowadays.

Well, since two series going to start soon, then we can see whether it'll counts the ranking or not by seeing which series going to end/axe.

This isn't really manga related news. Shima Tomoyuki (the current chief editor for Young Jump; the former editor for Houshin Engi, Midori no Makibaou, Slam Dunk, Yu-Yu-Hakusho, and Shiki) got arrested for an assault against a taxi driver.
