Kingdom, Golden Kamuy and Kaguya-sama have the same number of CP (6).

Only 3 issues with a series on the cover:

Looks like he's involved in Shikabana. Unfortunately, Shikabana had a pretty rough start for its first volume's sales. I think it had a day 1 premiere somewhere in the upper 200s on the top 500 chart and then quickly fell off the top 500 charts for the daily sales.

See the below quote from last month. It looks like the situation is even more dire than I had originally expected. Looks like Shikabana's second volume didn't even chart in the Top 500 on its first day of release. It seems to be in great danger of cancellation.

This past publication year was pretty wild for Weekly Young Jump. The magazine's big 3 as I like to call them (Kungdom, Golden Kamuy, and Kaguya) continued to tout their dominance over the majority of the rest of the magazine's lineup. While WYJ seemed pretty desperate for a hit new series last year, I'd say this year revved up that determination to find a successful new series to another level. Unfortunately for them, it doesn't seem like any of the new series really took off this past year.

Speaking of new series, Weekly Young Jump premiered a whopping 14 new series during 2019, and of those new series, 1 ended before its first volume was released and another transferred to their online application. Interestingly, WYJ had 9 series transfer out either to their online application or another publication, which was massively more than any other magazine that I analyzed this past year. Excluding series that were transferred out, there were also 8 series in total that concluded during 2019, many of which being older series. Needless to say, there was definitely a lot of new faces showing up throughout the year.

In terms of perfect attendance, there was actually only 1 series that managed to show up in every single issue of the magazine this past year: Snack Basue! Second place belongs to Kaguya-sama wo Kataritai with 46 appearances this year, and then Batuque with 44 chapters this year. The award for most color pages goes to Bungo with 12 color pages this past year, just narrowly beating out hopeful newcomer Kawaisounine Genki-kun, which had 11 color pages. An interesting note is how many color pages the new series each received, regardless of how well the series is selling. Even Pochi Gokko, which was cancelled before its first volume came out, received 6 color pages.

Looking forward into 2020, I think a lot of the remaining new series from 2019 will probably conclude or be transferred out of the main magazine by the end of this year due to low sales. As a result, WYJ will probably continue to have that "revolving door" feel to it for at least the first portion of 2020. As a result, the chronological order gap between Snack Basue and the next most recent series will likely grow a bit. However, I think this is the year WYJ will find at least one decently-sized hit. Right towards the end of 2019, it started a few series that I thought were particularly promising, namely Kowloon Generic Romance and Kubo-san ha Boku wo Yurusanai. Hopefully these and others will turn out to be successful so WYJ can get some more stability in its lineup during the upcoming year.
