Introduction
As I see it, Kallavan has two objectives:
  1. To kill the Irregular boy (his "eternal enemy").
  2. To regain his position as a Corps Commander.

Now that Traumerei has shown up, stealing Lyborick's position by killing him is no longer on the table. Kallavan would have to try another way to regain his position.

Perhaps he'll try to convince Traumerei and/or the Lo Po Bia Family that he is more fit to serve as Corps Commander than Lyborick. Or maybe it's Adori/Army HQ that he's trying to convince. Either way, I believe that Kallavan will have a strong desire to prove himself.

Kallavan's Opportunity
With the Frozen Waterfall has been destroyed, Traumerei/the Lo Po Bia may learn of Maschenny's betrayal, Leviathan's escape and/or the stunt she pulled with Baam. This creates a couple pressing needs:
  1. The Irregular needs to be captured
  2. The traitor Princess needs to be dealt with.

The Case for Kallavan vs Baam
A fight with Baam will serve a few purposes:
  • Wrap up Kallavan and Baam's rivalry.
    • After the Nest, even "Base" Baam would be far too strong for their fight to be worth anything.
    • If they meet again Post Nest, we'll get a repeat of the Vagararv situation.
  • It provides a satisfactory conclusion to Kallavan's character arc.
  • Hype up Baam's power after absorbing White and/or Leviathan.
  • Baam could absorb the Essence of Bravery.

The Case for Kallavan vs Maschenny
A fight/interaction with Maschenny serves other purposes:
  • Provides insight into the hierarchy of the Army and where Princesses sit in it.
  • Provides insights into Maschenny's scheming with and around Kallavan.
    • And how those schemes relate to her machinations with Jinsung and Baam.
  • Provides a contrast/comparison between Maschenny and Yuri via how Kallavan responds to their betrayal/how they deal with a hostile Kallavan.
  • Provides insight into the powerscaling of the series (especially vis a vis Princesses and Corps Commanders). It'll help answer questions like:
    • Where do the 13 Month Princesses stand relative to the Corps Commanders?
    • Where does Yuri stand compared to other Princesses?

This interaction would be more meaningful if Maschenny is the one who asked Kallavan to come to the Nest, and/or she spoke with Cheonhee after the talk with Jinsung. She was shown to be on Cheonhee's ship:

And we haven't seen Cheonhee after she met up with Kallavan.

Of course, depending on the relationship between Maschenny and Kallavan, they may end up not fighting at all. But even if Maschenny is a superior officer he respects/thinks very highly of, I find it hard to imagine that Kallavan would turn a blind eye to her betrayal.

At best, he may plan to report her to Adori/Army HQ afterwards, and that gives her an incentive to eliminate him.

The Dark Horse: Asensio
Another option is that Kallavan fights Asensio. The rationale is mostly the same as for the Maschenny fight, but Asensio prevents Maschenny from engaging Kallavan as he doesn't see him as someone worthy of facing his sister. As similar situation manifested with Data Asensio and Big Breeder Jeok:

Aesthetically, I'd also expect Asensio to "go all out"/get a real fight before Maschenny.

And considering that SIU hyped up his combat ability as Data:
  • He's a Faction Leader of the Khun Family.
  • He's "the Spear Master".

I doubt SIU reintroduced him at the Nest just to babysit AA against a random Ranker. I'd expect him to have a proper fight and Kallavan and Perseus are the only compelling options (Lyborick is reserved for Dowon and/or Cha).

Some Unlikely Options
I see a few other unlikely opponents for Kallavan. I'll list them out and why I don't consider their battles plausible:
  • Cha
    • A fight with Kallavan does nothing for either of their characters.
    • Cha may assist Dowon with Lyborick.
    • He could also fight Yorari (if he's still alive) or Perseus if he's not.
  • Dowon
    • She has a strong grudge against Lyborick and needs to avenge Luch.
  • Jinsung
    • Baam is with Jinsung right now and I don't see him allowing Jinsung and Kallavan to fight again.
    • The fight is kind of pointless:
      • Kallavan is now even stronger than their previous battle.
      • Jinsung is weaker than their previous battle because his arms have not fully recovered.
    • It would be an even more brutal beat down than last time.
  • Yama
    • His battle is with Traumerei.
  • Yasratcha
    • His battle is also with Traumerei.

My Thoughts
Prior to the last chapter, I believed the Baam fight was the clear frontrunner option.

The main argument against it was that the rivalry was based entirely on false premises. Kallavan isn't the one that's actually responsible for Jinsung's imprisonment/suffering. Baam's grudge against him was entirely misplaced. And now, Baam has met the true culprit; he'll no longer care about hunting down Kallavan.

Another argument against it is that Baam no longer needs Kallavan to serve as a hypetool for his Leviathan or Crown power ups. His current battle against Pudidy and Haland should show Baam's new power adequately.

Furthermore, fighting Pudidy and Haland, then Kallavan, then Traumerei all back to back is a little too much. I now no longer believe the Baam fight is all that likely.

Conclusions
Shifting away from Baam as Kallavan's next opponent is making me warm up towards the Maschenny - Asensio option. I could see a battle analogous to the one vs the Big Breeder. But I'll also be excited for a straight Maschenny fight or a straight Asensio fight.

Alternatively, SIU could throw yet another curve ball and have Baam fight Kallavan after defeating Pudidy and Haland. I would not rule it out.

I would be pretty surprised if Kallavan fought someone outside of those three.

I personally think even if Baam doesn't want to fight Kallavan,he himself might want to capture Baam to get back his position of CC by asking Traumerai that he will capture Baam for him.Now he may get interrupted by someone else or he fights Baam,it can be anything.Though if he fights Baam he is definitely getting EOB.Also thanks for tagging me.

@Fiodor Pavlovich K: I don't think that SIU will have given Kallavan a significant power up if he didn't intend for him to get another fight.

I agree with this. If Kallavan is interrupted from fighting Baam, then my preferred choices are Maschenny/Asensio.

A Dark Horse candidate would be Cha I guess, but I think it's more likely he fights Lyborick with Dowon or fights Perseus instead?

Kallavan will be around for many arcs and will have many opportunities to display his growth (hopefully beyond power). None of the list seems to bring anything meaningful right now. Some of your points are reasonable, but we are reaching this arcs' climax we have been here for to long and I feel like the time for side skirmishes is gone.

Kallavan does need a closing in this arc and to me your strongest case by far is Baam, but it if happens it will be quick and not an all out fight.

I initially chose No one (can't change the vote) but now after reading your reasoning, it seems plausible to me that yes there maybe a fight left for Kallavan.
*After this, this post doesn't add anything new
As for the options i thought, it was lyborik (he can't dare to fight him nor he will given Traum is there), and later also, it will still be Traum's choice. Then, Baam, similar to what you stated, plus i don't think his character has any worth at all with fighting Baam who's becoming more like the 'regular' irregulars in power. And Kallavan bends before power not fight it. So I was infact considering an alliance with Baam, if the fight happens with traum 'and' the result (I am ruling out death, it will be too much for the other irregulars to stay silent) is enough for Kallavan to join. baam.
Even if Kallavan fights someone else, i am of the thought that it will be Traum's saying "go fight that person who's against me".

Hopefully gets murked by whoever he tries it with next. Kallavan has long since worn out his welcome. Lame character from the very start.

I wouldn't have minded seeing Jinsung take him out, but his performance against Pudidy and Holan is making it pretty clear that he's not up to it.

That will be because current Baam is much stronger than Kallavan.

I do not believe we have reached the climax until Baam vs Traumerei begins. I'm guessing we have up to 20 (maybe even more) chapters left at this point.

There are still a whole lot of activities left to cover in this arc.

Maybe he gets up when Baam arrives and Traumerei just nukes him for standing/talking without permission. I'd be down for that.

Good thread. Would thumbs up 100 more times for not being yet another Mas thread if I could.

My $0.02 will have to include thoughts on the final match-ups to make sense. I expect no one to fight more than one fight as this arc is reaching end-game, but I suppose there's no 'rule' that someone couldn't fight more than once. Obviously Baam will need to do so as he's not topping out this arc fighting Pudding.
Rei would then be the big bad, so how will the mini-bosses go? (a bit of jumping around)

- WGW has an obvious second date with EVK, who will have her hands full with her alone. Expect both to have giant releases we didn't see used when they first clashed.

- Sicarious isn't done with Love, but Love won't be enough on his own (seemingly - maybe Augusgus comes to bail him out here). Karaka seems like a good match-up here. Expect this to possibly be off-screened even.

- Hybrider and Uub seem to be keeping DowonCha's hands full. I expect exposition and revelations that Uub is somehow greater than a divco, maybe passed up for being a CC, so somewhere in between. Cha takes on Hybrider, the stronger of the two as they both seem to be the strike type fighters, and Dowon takes on Uub as they both shoot light beams or some shit. Or, maybe Uub is left to his own devices as he's already being attacked by Hybrider...

- Candidy and Meyer - seem to just be standing around. I thought they were uniquely designed to be foils against Cha and Dowon - down to fighting style/powers and color aesthetic. Perhaps DowonCha finishes up with Hybrider/Uub (Uub does seem to be trying to fight Hybrider as well after all) and continue to the throne room to fight these two. Otherwise, they seem just over divco level and don't seem to have much to do.

- Pudding and Holan - will take the L here, possibly getting Jinsung to sit out as well, Baam at least moves on to next battle.

- Perseus - seems to be the next biggest hitter that came with Rei. Hard to say... I get the feeling Rei won't want him to go far, so that leaves Yama as the obvious option as Rei probably won't want to dirty his own hands with Yama (?). This assumes Rei swats Yas. Or maybe it even takes Yama and Yas to fight Perseus and his summons ('Horse, go fight that cat-dog for me').

- Yas - yes, Yas. I think he's flying too close to the sun with claiming Rei can't control him. There's the possibility that Rei gets a kick out of his claims, and to show the true power (or a glimpse of it) of an irregular to Yas has a moment where his eyes glow harder than last time, turning Yas into a minion in spite Yas' best efforts to avoid such scenario, and then to fight Yama. Yama fighting either Yas or Perseus makes WAYYYY more sense that Yama fighting Rei, who should wipe him from existence. Yama just had a PU, so he needs to show it in some way, but against Rei is a bridge too far.

- Lyb - another wild card. He's in the throne room but I still see him slinking out somehow. I *still* don't feel settled on his allegiance to the cause, although everything points to him being a loyalist (thoughts and actions) I still think SIU might pull the rug out for some reason. In any event, he seems the perfect match for Asensio IMO. Cin, you can't say otherwise since I've seen you repeatedly say that Asensio could be CC or greater. Then, we also have the fact he may be injured/debuffed a bit. I could also see Mas sniping him to keep his mouth shut, claiming HE is the traitor or something to Rei. If she's smart, she'll avoid direct confrontation as qualified as she is to fight. She has to try and keep up appearances for as long as possible, and all might not be lost with that yet. Regardless, I see Lyb v As OR deaded by Mas as the Khuns will keep it in the family (as they are known to do...) It's just too much that he's a SB on top of everything, so that seems like an obvious indication a Khun will fight him, and there might be some bad blood there to back it up.

Other randos: McCage - He may try and help Yas here if he's loyal. If he's 'in on it' he may know Yas doesn't really want to kill the dogs, so I don't see him fighting the allies. If he does, maybe Sophia. More than likely SIU forgot about them both (Sophia has to stay playing defense near the escape). Fucile - same with him... is he loyal to Yas? Then maybe he'll stand down. If Love gets help elsewhere against Sicario there's always Karaka to fight Fucile, as they have a similar aesthetic as well. Also, there's the current version of White, who should still be an AR, but certainly not prime White. He could fight any number of other non-CC level baddies such as Fucile or McCage. It seems like these battles are now moot though. Yolker?

That leaves Kallavan, your original question, if my memory serves and I'm not missing anyone else.

On one hand, he's all fired up, powered-up, and has currently nowhere to go. He's going to have to let out his frustrations somewhere. As Cin says, it wouldn't make sense to have him buffed so much then just sit down. He was the primary baddy of S2 and didn't really have a good ending to his character arc with the battle with Lyb, and an ambiguous position in the Z army now, all the while Baam roams free. He'll at least punch some holes in sheetrock.

On the other hand, I really get the feeling we've been seeing the 'cracks' in his zealotry. He kind of gets daydreamy about Baam. He SHOULD be disillusioned about being disposable, and possibly still pissed the Z army concluded his men (the only other thing that he seems to care about besides blind loyalty) were disposable. He really doesn't have much to live for anymore... it's hard to say.

There's the possibility he goes to fight Baam as an even bigger, badder CC than ever before. He could fight Yas, another CC to show loyalty right in front of Rei. Jinsung is debuffed while he is buffed so I don't see them having a round two (despite what SIU's blogs say about another fight possibly going another way), UNLESS it included Baam with another double-kamehameha or Jinsung dying (literally?) to teach Baam his ultimate technique for Baam to learn in battle and follow up after Jinsung with a second volley of dragon tiger gate on Kallavan.

OT:

Another wild card is the Captain (Luslec lol), who has taken great pains to not be known he's even there, even to his subordinate, Yool. He no diffs a HR and BH candidate like it's nothing. With whatever he has on hand, a dinky little needle. I'm reminded of when Urek fought the rankers on the giant Zygenia, no effort at all (unlike, say, Doom no diff'ing Gado, which was a big display of power). Going by the 'rule' of the more mysterious, the more powerful, he probably won't come online unless needed to bail Baam out with Rei (if Gustang doesn't show). He may just run off, but wtf was he even doing in the suspendium crystal in the first place (seeing as he didn't actually DO anything there)? Did he come with the LPB forces or infiltrate them at the Nest? He HAD to be there just to be watching over Baam (and no one even has picked up his presence from EITHER SIDE). Which, again, makes me think this is an alias of Luslec.

...

Scratch the entire list - AA slays everyone, including Rei, with the sweetfirefish. Why is AA not in your poll?

I think this depends on traumerei. For context, kallavan's actual loyalty is to zahard. Whom kallavan views as an actual omnipotent, omniscient and infinitely wise being. From what we have sene of traumerei... He is indifferent, cold, cruel and petty towards tower residents. Traumerei killed wang wang because he wasn't loyal enough to look past nen's senseless murder...

So there is a chance that kallavan sees traumerei being... traumerei he will take the fight to him. Not necessarily fight traumerei directly but probably one of his stronger family members.

IMO kallavan's path leads away from zahard just in general. Basically we are waiting for him to realize that the great warriors aren't the gods he thinks they are. He cares too much for his subordinates to be the mindless fanatic the army demands him to be.

Honestly I hope he doesn't fight anybody. Not interested in wasting time with 4387544 side character fights. Let's just get to Baam and Traumerei and then out of this arc. It's been going on for far too long already.

Unfortunately, Traumerei did not react to Lyborick:
  • Not bowing at his arrival
  • Looking directly at him
  • Standing up to shout that Baam went to meet Maschenny without first being addressed

I think Traumerei just doesn't care strongly about bugs showing respect to him. It's his Family members not him that make a big deal out of it.

It's a bit of a stretch that kallavan regressed here. We don't know what was going on in kallavan's mind at this point. And kallavan has shown he isn't actually a good fit for the army, which demands mindless unhinged loyalty. Much like how traumerei demanded of wang wang. Going further, kallavan seens zahard as the means to achieve his own goals. Some sort of world order and peace. But.. from the army's perspective zahard is a god. He isn't there to make their dreams a reality. They are there to make zahard's goals a reality. Their own goals and ambitions are irrelevant. If zahard says turn right they do so. If zahard says murder your mothers they also kill their grandmas just in case. Meanwhile you have kallavan who turned on lyborick over his followers dying.

And immediately dropped that grudge once Lyborick mentioned Zahard's name.

Probably asensio and maschenny vs lyborick and kallavan.
I'd love this actually. I'm not sure it would be that interesting from a powerscaling perspective, but character development and lore wise, this would be amazing:
  • Lyborick vs Asensio
    • Comparison between a natural-born lightning spear bearer and Lyborick's imitation
    • Exploration of Lyborick's inferiority complex towards natural-born lightning spear bearers and the Khun Family
      • Why did Lyborick leave the Family for the Zahard Army?
      • Was Lyborick discriminated against because he was not a natural-born lightning spear bearer?
      • Is he considered a failure as a son of Khun?
        • Is he even a son of Khun?
    • Exploration of Lyborick's status and place in the Khun Family
      • Comparison and contrast between a Spear Master and Lyborick
      • Comparison and contrast between one of the Khun Faction Leaders and Lyborick
      • Where does Lyborick stand in the hierarchy of the Khun Family?
        • Politically?
        • Combat ability wise?
    • Exploration of Asensio's status and place in the Khun Family
      • Is he a child that is especially favoured by Eduan?
      • Is he one of the Top Khuns? Top 20? Top 10? Top 5?
      • How powerful is the Faction that he leads?
        • Politically?
        • Combat ability wise?
      • How does he compare to the Rulers of the Khun Family?
      • Considering his very young age, is he a wunderkind?
      • Is he considered the Ace of the Family?
    • Exploration of the alliance between the Khuns, the Lo Po Bia and the Zahard Army
      • Why is Lyborick now so closely aligned with the Lo Po Bia Family?
      • How does Maschenny's betrayal impact that alliance?
      • How does Asensio's betrayal?
      • What is the promise between the Khun Family(?) and the Lo Po Bia Family?
      • Why did Zahard Army Guards call Asensio "Lord Asensio"?
    • Exploration of the Khun Family's overall place and involvement in the Great War
      • Does Asensio's presence imply Eduan's involvement?
      • What is the position/opinion of the other Faction Leaders of the Khun Family?
      • Is the Khun Family divided on this issue?
  • Maschenny vs Kallavan
  • Tag teams
    • The contrast in teamwork, synergy, cooperation and trust between Maschenny and Asensio and Lyborick and Kallavan

Asensio vs Lyborick is probably the best matchup to advance Asensio and Lyborick's characters. It leaves Dowon shit out of luck though.

When did that happen? I am not saying kallavan doesn't worship zahard as of now. He obviously does. My point is that kallavan does so for his own reasons. He serves zahard because zahard can potentially achieve what he desires. But by the army's standards that's already quite wrong, he should serve and worship zahard blindly, for no reason and expect nothing in return. And the question is, what happens when kallavan realizes zahard can't or won't deliver on what he wants?

And immediately dropped that grudge once Lyborick mentioned Zahard's name.

If you think that Kallavan doesn't worship Zahard as a god, you are very misguided.

  • Tag teams
    • The contrast in teamwork, synergy, cooperation and trust between Maschenny and Asensio and Lyborick and Kallavan

Asensio vs Lyborick is probably the best matchup to advance Asensio and Lyborick's characters. It leaves Dowon shit out of luck though.
That’s all about it‼ And if you think about it more is something that probably is going to happen due to the fact that lyborick is representing (3) Faction here.

•LPB and khun alliance
•Check on poe bidau (he has spies in PB fam?)
•He is adoris’s connection in the war.

Lyborick probably pick zahard army side
Which is kallavan side so this could be a temporary union vs those two.. maschenny is betraying all they care about‼

lyborick is going to take this personally with Maschenny.. he was about to shine lol too bad fake spear bearer..

Let's try this one, then. Kallavan steps to Baam and Traumerei nukes him for showing disrespect to a fellow Irregular.

Bam crushes him to show him his lowly place before talking to Traumerei as equals and a show of force for FUG.
