Hi everyone
Recently I have been thinking(as probably anyone else who reads the manga) about what is it that makes raftel so unreachable to the point where only the roger pirates were able to get there. We know the GL is dangerous and the scene of uroge reaching the thunder bathed island shows just how much more dangerous the NW is compared to the GL.
Another thing would be this part.

Roger offers to explain to WB how to get to raftel. I always found that rather strange. Even assuming this translation is a bit of, why would WB need to be told how to get there? I think this could signify a number of thing:
1.- The lock post is useless at the very end of the GL. Logically the lock post should always point towards the next island and at some point that island should be raftel. In that sense, locating raftel in itself should not actually be hard if the island does indeed have a magnetic field. It is possible raftel is the sole island in the grand line that lacks a magnetic field which would explain why it is so unreachable. The problem with this theory is that if no one has made it there other than roger then there should be no reason to assume it exists.
2.- Maybe the weather conditions on the way to raftel made the ocean utterly impossible to navigate for 99.99% of the crews in the world. The GL already has shown to be less than hospitable and as one advances the conditions become harsher. Is it possible the way to raftel is so absurdly dangerous and so horrible chaotic that even when there are many successful NW pirates and 4 yonkou (one of them showed no interest in raftel and another one is supposed to already have been there) non of them have gotten there before?
SO what do you think? The way there is certainly dangerous but just that would not quite fully explain why people don't get there. I doubt the yonkou make it a point to not let anyone advance through the NW. Or perhaps they do but full control of such a chaotic sea would be unlikely. I just can't imagine what exactly makes raftel so unreachable to the point where the next person who gets there will automatically become the pirate king.
