My belief is Takeshi Kitano, aka Beat Kitano.

Kitano is know for insanely bloody and violent movies. Although he is also know to be a funny comedian, so who knows.

After I mad my post I did a search for Takeshi images and tried to compare with what we have seen of Akainu(which is not much at all). From what I found is that all Takeshi will have to do is make a scowl with his mouth.

Keep in mind that when looking at images of Takeshi they need to be when is his older, since by now Akainu has got to be around the same age as Aokiji.

Keep in mind that when looking at images of Takeshi they need to be when is his older, since by now Akainu has got to be around the same age as Aokiji.

Well you have to give Oda some free reign, he has the liberty of altering Akainu's face since we only saw his lower half and that was a bazillion chapters ago.

it's more like 2/3 of his face from one side (like in my avatar) and from the front as well, just that his eyes are hidden by the basecap.
also both of the admirals we have seen so far were designed after a certain role these actors played. any suggestions what that might be for takeshi (btw.: after hundreds of repetitions in german TV I hate that castle show -.-)

If that does not sound like our ol buddy Akainu then I dont know what does. A member of the agency who polices crime and must enforce the law, thats our Admiral.

Ya know, how about Akira Kurosawa?

Yeah he was my second candidate. I only put Kitano as first because of his role in Violent Cop, which is his directing debut so it is his most well known film.

The pro's for Kurosawa are that he wears a hat like Akainu, but he wears glasses.

The pro's for Kitano are that he is known for very violent roles like Akainu's view of justice, but he does not wear a hat.

and to throw out a new thought: the rolename Kizaru is based on and his "real" name are both Borsalino, thus I thought perhaps there is a connection for Akainu as Sakazuki too?
alas I have no clue where to search for that (except google, which again gives me shit)
