What if oda just troll us and mera mera fruit eat fighting fish or other sea creature/fisman on futere or in this arc. Close to fishman island and will be hamer and survive road and prevision of shirley will be fultfiel in this way.

I voted Corby, cause of all the named characters he's the most likely to me. But honestly, as he's the personal disciple of Garp, I'd rather see him just relying on Haki and the fist of love. :P

Oda is really dealing with high expectations on this matter. One likely theory to me is BB getting the fruit, since Luffy fighting his brothers DF would be quite dramatic. This way he can also demontrate his growth and that he has surpassed Ace (in theory).

In a good scenario, my pick would be Coby. (Bad scenario would be Blackbeard getting it.) It's obvious just how important the DF is for Luffy since we've already seen him forgo Law's plan in order to win it. He won't let any Average Joe -which includes Rebecca- have it but is willing to give the DF to someone as close to him as a crew mate. The Mera Mera no Mi holds a sentimental value because it belonged to Ace, and it's appropriate that Coby would get it because he was the first person Luffy befriended on his journey.

Coby's dream is not only to become an Admiral but also to stand side by side Luffy. Kenbushoku Haki and some Rokushiki isn't enough so I think the Mera Mera no Mi would put them on more of an equal footing in a future where Coby becomes Admiral and Luffy becomes Pirate King.

What would their role be?
I think you need to understand strength isn't a requirement for the SH's in the slightest due to Luffy's many allies. Heck even Crocodile is sort of his ally now.
The new member would probably need an official role like Navigator, Shiprwright etc.
The SH's main combat department are the main focal points of their strength and we've that part in the stage where the Monster Trio need to level-up similar to... Alabasta and Enies Lobby.

doesnt work that way lol plus you only need the slightest bit of it and you will have the full effect. SO whether you eat it whole or a piece of it, the transfer of power is the same

i think kinemons ability has to do with the way his sword was forged.

Actually, after going through the last Acts and regarding the change in Sanjis appearance with his Hell Meories, it would make sense if he were to get the fruit. It would be the latest addition to his visual concept.

On the other hand it would also be a disturbance to the power-balance in the strawhat-crew, since it's a big power up but just for him. Well, the fruit could go to anyone, atm.

Something I could see happening is that, one of the strawhats or a close friend of theirs gets shot/stabbed/lethally wounded somehow, and then the chapter ends with a cliffhanger of Luffy shouting this persons name in despair. Though there is a silhouette of something in the bottom corner, what is it? It's the Mera-Mera nomi with a bite mark in it.

So far, a lot of characters who were after the fruit are out of the running. Now we're up to D Block. Time to see if either Cavendish or Rebecca are worthy enough to win the fruit.

Well, I don't think Rebecca will win and get the fruit.
I think Luffy will win, and he will give her the fruit.

We already know that he wants to give it to soemone he can trust.
Franky doesn't want it, and I doubt Sanji will want it (he said once that the only fruit he would take would be the invisible fruit).

I think that Rebecca will be important in the whole plot about the humans being turned into toys, since she's in love with a toy.
Plus, she seems to have some possible link to the great Hero (forgot his name), who's possibly her father, or something like that...

I think that she will earn Luffy's trust/friendship, and he will give her the fruit.

Hopefully, she will also join the crew!!

Only one female Marine is a Vice-Admiral. The other female member of the Giant Squad's position is unkown.

its luffy or no one in my opinion. ace's power to coby is like giving power boost to navy which have already so many logia users . it can be some one who joins the crew as new member in this tournament.
and moreover luffy having this will have a chance to showcase the superiority of mera mera no mi to blackbeard and akainu who are responsable to ace's capture and death.
