Discussion Who will get Ace's Mera Mera no Mi (Fire) Devil Fruit?

Either Zoro's sword will get it, or the fruit will be stored by Luffy.

Or someone completely unexpected will get it's hands on it .-.

My previous choice was Usopp's weapon, because I really really want to see it happen.

But now my OP-sense is telling me it's going to be Rebecca or the Toy Soldier. I don't like Rebecca's character so it's not favoritism. It just makes sense to me. The Strawhats liberate islands and move on. It's been the case in Drum Kingdom, Alabasta and Skypiea. Who is to say those islands/nations are not in trouble again? If Rebecca or TS get the fruit Dressrossa will be safe for a long time. Plus, Rebecca is in the Tournament in order to get the fruit and help the person she loves, and Luffy knows about it. I can see him winning the Mera Mera and giving it to her.

I think that if the fruit ends up in the hands of someone not very strong and not a member of the crew, like it would if Rebecca stays on Dressrosa after receiving it. She wouldn't keep it long since Blackbeard hunts strong devil fruit, and already want the fire fruit. That's why it's unlikely that the fruit won't stay with the Strawhats unless burgess gets it.

Why wouldn't Luffy want someone with Ace's powers in his crew? He was fascinated by what Chopper could do when they first met. Furthermore, he's awestruck by anything he sees as cool. Wouldn't fire powers fall under that category?

Sanji already has abilities close to fire and Zoro is close to assimilating Kin'emon's fire style (I can feel it in my gut). If there's going to be a fire logia in the crew, it should be a new member.

If zoro eat the mera mera fruit. That would make him more badass then what he is....but that would kill hes character and SH need him and sanji for some water problem...soo hes out....coby is the next garp...speed and hitting strong...hes out too.

Now we learn that mera mera no mi....is for someone who do close combat...like luffy....and they have to be tricky as well..

Maybe luffy save if for someone who need it latter on in the new world....like if the next member is a fighting guy or girl who is always complain that he/she is weak cause it dont have a DF...maybe luffy would give.it to her/him...and for that. He/she will join and follow luffy to go around the world to master the Df along with SH

I would found really interesting if Lyffy wins the tournament (if that tournament will go to its final stage) but Bb pirates stealing the victory from lyffys hand by stealing the fruit at the end. This would be totally interesting turn to see luffy and his new allies to go vs bb even thought fighting a guy with 2 powers wont be easy at all.

she is the child of a king who is hated in the country.
ace was the child of a king who was hated in the world.

Rebecca is not leaving Dressrosa, she will not be the next, and she will not be given the mera mera no mi. Her grandfather will be restored to the throne, she will become the princess and heir apparent, finally able to live with Soldier-san after his humanity is restored. She will find her own strength, and realize that she never needed the mera mera no mi in the first place. Once Doflamingo is defeated she will decide that she never has to fight again.

But who is gonna defend Dressrosa once the order is restored. They may have a police, but it was Doflamingo and his crews powers that suppressed any unhappy people, but also put fear into anyone trying to attack the island, he was a world famous pirate after all and was pretty much save from every Yonkou through his dealings with every faction.

Glad you think the fruit's power should aid the crew, however, don't write Rebecca off as a non-candidate. The kind of flashback she had is usually reserved for SH recruits.
