Discussion Who will get Ace's Mera Mera no Mi (Fire) Devil Fruit?

I'm hoping that Coby is on one of those battleships, and if so I want him to eat the Mera Mera no mi. He would be such a beast. Unlocking Haki at such a young age and wielding a Logia.

I would much prefer to see the SH's obtain the fruit and store (or keep it with them) until the "time" is right. Can't see Luffy eating it nor can I see this Rebecca girl eat it either. It would be a waste. She may want it real bad but it would be better to see Luffy help her regain her status on the island without having the mera mera no mi act as a catalyst to achieve said goals in the current arc.

When Teach was described for the first time after the time skip, it was told that he would do anything to gain all the strong fruits. Could have meant that he would take them with force, money, tournaments like this one, not that he would actually steal them all as he did in the war.

however luffy has a strong set of morals and would never stab a nakama in the back

That is not inverse though, they share more similarities than differences. The biggest one being morals. The one thing that defines both is their yearn for freedom.

i am assuming when someone says he is the "inverse luffy" they just mean they have similar goals but opposite ways about obtaining those goals

Who knows? Even if he can get more devil fruit, I think he'll just give mera mera no mi to one of his flunkies. Or, he could have someone eat it to avoid it being stolen and then absorb Burgess's devil fruit power, unless death is needed. But I dunno if Burgess will get mera mera no mi... he should to establish Blackbeard as more of a Straw Hat enemy.

That's the point, he thought he had it all planed three steps ahead, not realizing that it won't matter in the end with Luffy being the biggest wild card that could exist. Someone seeking danger won't be stopped by traps. Oda putting emphasis on Doffy being so devious, using tricks, lies and his power to win, only to make him fail at the end.
