Discussion Who will get Ace's Mera Mera no Mi (Fire) Devil Fruit?

Ooh. I got your point. But do you really think that island is hated by the fishmen? Its fishmen island, home to fishpeople. The auctioning centre is more likely to be the place of racism and luffy will probably destroy that someday.

i dont think fishmen themselves hate their homeland, but base on Otohime's Dream which is to share the world (surface) along with the human. maybe it will motivate them to relocate on the surface under Luffy's Protection.

Also gotta look at the drawbacks. Buggy didn't even want to eat the devil fruit, even though he's nearly invincible. Same could happen with mera mera no mi, it could be sold for a high price.

It could be, but we know for sure that Rebecca isn't a devil fruit user. Based on what Blackbeard said, Jesus might not be either. Sabo is a complete unknown, while we know Diamante and Sabo are users. Anything could happen, especially when there are two supporting antagonists against three supporting protagonists, one or two who are unknown.

It is cool, but I don't want Sabo to get the fruit.

The conclusion of this arc might turns out like this: after the tournament, people find out the df is a plastic toy which was used by DD to lure in strong fighters; then on an unknown island in the NW, Coby accidentally finds the real one. In the far future, when Coby is about to become an admiral, he have to against Akainu over the absolute justice policies, hence a fight similar to Aokiji vs Akainu takes place and this time we have a re-match fire df vs magma df. Of course this only happens only after Akainu looses his fight with Luffy but the man is totally a sour looser so he still wants to make lame excuses for his lost, this is when Coby steps in to clean out the hardness of absolute justice.

Rebecca fighting style: Not hurting, parrying and dodging a lot, she uses a broadsword, CoO, CoA(not confirmed, all her parrying has been with no haki)

Sabo fighting style: Dragon claw (and probably one or two more dragon moves), he uses an iron pipe, CoA, CoO (not confirmed but very likely)

Wow, really? Hakuba would slice Rebecca's ass in three seconds. It takes time to master a DF, especially a Logia. If Hakuba got serious and decided to really fight Rebecca instead of just cutting her once, she would be dead meat.
And I agree with Hachibukai.

Fire dragon (Sabo) > Weak fighter who does not want to hurt anyone.

He's one of the best swimmer in the crew. We can't afford to lose that.

sabo doesnt intend to eat the fruit. he intends to give it to some1 who will inherit aces will.i agree that it would be waste to give the fruit to rebecca if shes gonna stay in dressrosa. But beatrice posted in another thread that the voice playing becca is a person who usually does long term roles. So i guess We will be seeing plenty of rebecca after dressrosa. I think it would suit her if she gets the fruit. She would be faster.

Sanji's fire has more with him being a cook than getting a DF that can make fire. You know you need fire to cook? It's the theme of the character and a DF like that would feel forced on an ability that he has thanks to his personality and occupation, not because it would make him stronger. Sanji can get stronger on his own means.

Dd has water way or something with him right? He got to ph with water way. He said something about the wind way being cut off. So he might not actually fall in the water. At least not by someone pushing him. Especially when that somebody is rebecca. But she could trick him using her mera no mi if she ever gets it.
