Kizaru could have increased the chances of his best friend surviving by, well you know, choosing to not actually kill him.

Instead he chose to be this: a killer

For me it‘s obvious that disobedience was not an option for him in the first place.
I‘m under the impression that Kizaru is a man of duty and that he firmly believes in fate. The letter was alread hinted at when Kizaru attacked Law‘s submarine back at the end of the Marine Ford war. Kizaru said something like:
„If this does not kill him, it‘s fate and he‘s supposed to live on“.
So the moment Kizaru faced Vegapunk and had to attack him, he quietly accepted his fate end went for the live of his friend. But as the latter was already severely injured it‘s hard to tell how much harm Kizaru did to him. It‘s also possible that he used his laser attacks to stop Vegapunk‘s bleeding, or even to nullify the effect of Saturn‘s poison.

That's a joke from Oda. Nobody was feeding Luffy.

Luffy was in front of Vegapunk's machine that makes food.

I think you need to reread those scenes as Luffy was barely conscious and couldn't move let alone using machine. Saturday himself even asked who was feeding him.

Interesting that nobody talking about kizaru feeding luffy. I believe this is something that should’ve been showcased in the manga because that’s a VERY important detail in multiple ways.

One factor I think everyone's forgetting is that Saturn was right in front of Bonnie and about to kill her before Vegapunk when this was going on.

Ehh.. Oda isn’t that simplistic. He literally gave us people and names and stated speed of light.. the only person who is speed and light is kizaru. I’d bet my future kidney it’s kizaru he’s talking about and it’s rather obvious
