All your insane beyond-left-field prediction/ideas/theories post-Egghead here! Since cloning is the hot topic, I'll start with one I just thought of:

At some point, the Germa 66 technology is going to be abused to clone an army of G5 Luffys, fully jumping the shark like the Naruto clones in the last arc of that. Except unlike that example, I'll probably still like this somehow.
AK did have cloning technology. IMU is a clone of Joyboy. Joyboy was cloned with the intention to maintain peace and it backfired. He killed the original, took over the world and became the devil by simply consuming “the devil fruit“ and it grants immortality as well. The devil dying of old age is unheard of.

Bonus points if this was the intention of the person who cloned Joyboy to begin with. Some sort of AK Mister Sinister who first discovers lineage factor.

Alright, let‘s add the following
Mister Sinister was the Vegapunk of the AK, he and the ruler of the Ancient Kingdom were best friends and fell for the same woman, she rejected Mister Sinister for being a nerd and went straight for the First Lady position. He convinced his friend of his great intentions. And thus Mister Sinister‘s evil plan to get rid of his rival, the whole nation and his rival‘s picky wife along with it, was set into motion.

If we're going wild with it I think aside from cloning, time travel is another area that could make for a crazy story so I'll throw one out there. Luffy is the actual Joyboy from 900 years ago and Nika's ultimate power is backwards time travel using his cartoon/reality warping abilities. The idea is that the energy/power Nika radiates can be harnessed to travel back in time but it can only be done with the use of an ancient AK technology relic. Time travel backwards in OP is dangerous and splits timelines similar to DBZ where you can't change your present and just create an alternate timeline.

So my crazy theory is that an alternate timeline Luffy (one that lived the same general life as our Luffy up to this point in the story i.e. Elbaph arc) ends up finding this relic in Elbaph (it is stored in the highest layer of Elbaph as their holiest item from ancient times). This Luffy then accidentally travels back in time to 900 years ago and finds himself stuck in the past. We get a whole arc where this Luffy is in AK, makes new friends and forms a crew that is very similar to SHs (e.g. same number/type of people like Emet being his version of Franky), still wants to be PK so he becomes the first person to make it to Laughtale. There he ends up leaving a message to himself about how he accidentally got stuck in the past and telling himself to not touch the relic in Elbaph which is why Roger and crew find it funny. It also explains why they aren't who OP is for since its a message to Luffy from Luffy. The Luffy stuck in the past ends up going to war against Imu who he clashes with in belief and ends up losing. He leaves his haki with Emet and tells Toki to go to the past to Oden which is where they get the prophecy since this Luffy already lived it i.e. his battle with Kaido. Finally this Luffy ends up dying in the past.

Our current Luffy by sheer luck/coincidence doesn't end up activating the relic so stays in the present. From there the SHs continue their journey and eventually make it to Laughtale. There they learn the whole truth and find it hilarious that this happened Luffy. Along with that message other Luffy also gave them info on Imu and his weakness that could help them defeat him in this second go around. We get ancient war 2.0 and our Luffy ends up winning.

As for the relic in the AK I'd say it was invented thousands of years ago. Another person that had awakened Nika fruit had used it and caused a catastrophe in the past which is when the lore about Nika being a destroyer originates. The AK ban the technology and the only relic was taken to Elbaph for safe keeping where it stayed for thousands of years until other Luffy accidentally used it.

Hey man that was a pretty good read. I smoked too much to think hard but it does seem like it'd cover the major points and loose ends.

That said I don't really want more time travel or cloning in OP but I do think what you wrote is entertaining and if the story does end up moving in this direction, kudos.

Thanks man. I definitely had to dig into that state of mind to come up with this idea. If Oda ends up doing anything like this we can confirm he :smoke the good stuff 😂

This reminds me of an older theory I saw on another site before I think it was around Imell Down, about how Roger is actually Luffy and Zoro is Rayleigh and they're all just stuck in a time loop.

Hm if Zoro gets his eye back maybe. Luffy and Roger definitely do look alike so I can see why someone would have that theory. The crews definitely have a lot of parallels.

Loki killed harald because harald was going to accept the world governments deal. They’ve been meaning to bring in the giants for a few years. Nikka destoryed the world to hide the technology from the world govnement. Knowing they would never lose with it

After Vegapunk dropped the info that there was a huge continent once, I‘ve been wondering “if there was a huge continent, and why the hell wasn‘t it conquered and ruled by giants?“
Now after Oda dropped the info that Elbaf Giants once did rule the world I can pretty much see giants being the dominant race during the days of the ancient kingdom or maybe even before the Ancient Kingdom. After all they seem to utilize plenty of technologies which I easily can picture as remnant technologies from the AK. And if you ask me why the hell no one remembers my answer is:
All surviving giants were “brainwashed“ by a previous user of the Memo-Memo noMi (Pudding‘s) DF.
The Ancient Robot‘s size plus the huge freezer where Imu stored the giant strawhat might also be a hint at this.

Joy Boy is time traveled Luffy is def on the table. I don't think there would be alternate timelines or time travel via Nika fruit, I think it would be time travel system where whatever shenanigans done by time travelers, they always happened, and timeline is singular.
Also I'm very positive we're going to see more time travelers sent by Toki (or her Toki-Toki fruit predecessor) from AK times.

Message left on Laugh Tale by Joy Boy was probably something like "Hey, I'm Luffy, a pirate who followed the steps of Pirate King Roger, %a lot of interesting shit happened% up to the %future time relative to current story%, I %somehow% went back in time and %a lot more of interesting shit happened%". So when Roger expressed his wishes to live in the same era as Joyboy, he was talking about being too early for Luffy in present-time.

Hey people. I was rereading the latest chapter and something Shamrock said is letting me form a new hypothesis about Shanks.

So all 3 of the known Figarland family that we know of, that is, Galing, Shamrock, and Shanks utilize a sword as weapons and they are obviously pretty handy with the blade. But what Shamrock said, "I don't even have to get my hands dirty," and then subsequently launching his sword's attack at Loki made me think that he (Shamrock) may not primarily be a swordsman. I may be incorrect and just overthinking his words but I think there is a chance that none of them is at their most powerful when using a sword. I especially think this may be true for Shanks as I feel like there are already some hints about this in the story. It seems that Mihawk is the better swordsman to have his title but Shanks is probably the better fighter and he dueled Mihawk out of respect of Mihawk being a swordsman. But if he fought Mihawl without a sword, he would probably win every time. To me it is almost like Shamrock is saying something like yeah, I don't even have to get serious to kill you, this Cerberus sword that Imu daddy gave me is more than enough.

I think this may apply to every introduced Figarland and may serve as a big aha moment when we finally see Shanks fight without his sword. I mean we don't really get to see him fight in the first place but it would be a good moment for Shanks if ever in the future he gets disarmed and he just go lol. Now I'll get serious. I know not every swordsman need two swords (many wano samurais use just 1) but it just makes sense for Shanks to use two if he can launch a divine departure with one. He could have double to slashes in one go but he has always used 1 sword. I think it is because he wasn't as serious with a sword even when 2 handed. Here's to hoping to see him showing his true skills without a sword in the future.

A circular timeloop would work even better. It's just trickier to write. Would be cool to meet other people from the past via the toki toki no mi. Haha I like your narrative, it would be super fitting for Luffy.

The (A) big secret behind devil fruits is that:

The classifications are barely disguised artificial propaganda that the author of the devil fruit book was forced to impose. This shift in public perception influenced how DF actually worked over the centuries- hence the push to UNREMEMBER Nika- it was a functional goal for the WG to actually depower the Gum Gum into "just" rubber. How literal that is is up to interpretation.

That said once the word is out to the public at large, literal knowledge becomes literal power. "There are no weak devil fruits"is about to be a bit more direct imo.

Suddenly clumsy retcons like Nika and Mochi make perfect sense, and wild-ass powers punching way above their weight class like Horo Horo and Toy Toy and Wax Wax suddenly also make more sense. These were PEOPLE. The best of the best at whatever they in particular did. And they were captured and imprisoned forever as "devils".

The real reason these "devils" can't coexist in the same host is going to be heartbreaking.

I like this idea it would also make the distinction between Logia and Paramecia/Zoan less blurry. I think Logia are no different than mythical zoan in that they are all just elemental gods. I still think Enel was awakened and is basically what we can expect for other logias and in that form they look the same as the other mythical zoans we have seen.

Imu is going to target Elbaf with Uranos with York's help. After a dramatic News Coo declaring Elbaf as the stronghold of Yonkou Strawhat Luffy.

The Grand Fleet finally mobilizes. Luffy flies up to Uranos like fucking Tetsuo and punches it off target. The blast hits next to Elbaf, and the evacuation of Elbaf becomes the ticking lock.

The crew and the fleet are both split up to retrieve the kids on the surface, and to follow Elbaf onto the ocean floor. Also turns out, this is how Eve landed on the ocean floor and origin of Fishman Island is because of an attack by Uranos.

(Bonus points if some other things happen, and Luffy destroys Fishman Island right after this)
--- Double Post Merged, , Original Post Date: ---

Uranos was originally a tool designed to hollow out a planet for its core resources
--- Double Post Merged, ---

Bonus points if the blue planet is (one of) the last remaining planet(s) after multiple planets got Krypton'd that way

Luffy is going to be much stronger in G5 form in Elbaf compared to previous arcs. I think his power is connected to people believing in Nika with more people who believe making him more powerful. So far when he transforms it appears those who believe in Nika are able to hear the Drums of Liberation.

In Wano that was only Zunesha with no one else being able to hear them. In Egghead we saw that Bonnie, Emet and the Giant Warrior pirates were able to hear the Drums.

Now that we're in Elbaf where Nika is seemingly believed in by many more people when Luffy transforms and the giants see him & hear the Drums, Luffy will achieve a scale of power that is far higher. Luffy might get so strong he does something insane like making all of Yggdrasil rubbery and having Loki use his lightning powers without worrying about starting a fire.

I've always suspected that'll be either Buggy or Ussop. Maybe both lol
