Question Will HxH ever be completed ?

- Anyone got any ideas or legit news on if we ever gonna see the end of HxH?

i was really sad that the serie was in so many hiatus over the years...

one of the last one was just before the arch with this Insect / freezer like King ...
i was really really disapointed by this arch ... it really brought down the serie ... it feels like since greed island it didnt really went back to what it was ....

Yet so many plots are still left OPEN ! and the end or where we are now , with a perspective of a new world is amazing ! but this hiatus has been there forever ! and who knows if its ever gonna start back?

on a side note :
I would recommend Tower of God , to those in need of more HxH style content you'll not regret it... thats where i go since HxH is no more.

well ...he did stated in a crossover with oda ''one piece '' ..

that he have 4 or 5 more stories in mind..after the chimera ants.

in other words the dark continent arc maybe the half way through hxh full story

I'm pretty sure it will have an ending someday, though who knows when. Togashi's hiatuses are ridiculous, and I'm slowly losing my patience with the guy, and I've been following Hunter x Hunter for less than two years! Togashi has what I see as a dream job, getting rich drawing cartoons and telling stories, yet half the time he doesn't do it.

I'd be a bit more forgiving of Togashi if there wasn't an ongoing anime adaptation of his work. The lack of a steady stream of new manga material could really end up hurting what has been an excellent anime up to this point. I want to see it eventually cover the entirety of Hunter x Hunter. What scares me the most is that if it goes on a break to let the manga get ahead, the same thing that happened to the HxH OVAs will happen to it. Togashi will continue drawing at a snails pace and it will be years until more HxH is animated.

Still, I'm almost certain HI think will end at some point. While I can see shows like Dectective Conan/Case Closed and One Piece going on forever without end and it's more than likely that Beserk will never be completed, I don't see these fates befalling HxH.

Like Detective Conan, I don't think it'll ever be finished unless the mangaka already outlined the entire storyline or the plot or gist of it or something. Just in case he retired or is unable to continue, someone else could take over.

yea... i m a bit rusty , i ve been following this manga since about 10 years ...
but if i remember right, before this chimehameha krap... in greed island , some plot were open on the possibility of the "phantom troop" to come back .. now this + dark continent ... would be legit ....

but like you guys said , i doubt it will ever come back, i"ve heard the author was sick or something but i wonder if its not just a lie to get away .

The manga will come back. But the manga if it was to end it probably won't finish for another 10 years most likely considering Togashi's schedule.

That's not quite right. Something like Detective Conan literally can go on forever. Something like One Piece could go on forever too (because there are an unknown number of islands between wherever the Straw Hats are to their destination). Something like Hunter X Hunter has a clear ending. There are fights that are supposed to happen and events that are supposed to finish things up.

I don't see One Piece lasting forever, Oda stated he already knows the end of the manga, and about a year ago ago he stated he was half way done with One Piece, and If you are reading the current One Piece chapters, you can tell Oda is planting seeds for an Incredible 2nd half, and things are ramping up, I actually feel like the ending is far away, but Its in sight. (also One Piece has the same things you listed about Hunter X Hunter, if not more concrete at the moment)

On Hunter X Hunter (keep in mind I probably haven't been reading or watching as long as you guys.), I feel like Hunter X hunter already went past its clear ending, with Gon meeting Ging, I love that its going past that point because Im a new watcher and I want to see it continue, but What would Hunter X Hunter's clear ending be.

I feel the Dark Continent arc is going to be pretty long, and at the rate Togashi goes on hiatus' I can see this arc alone lasting 3 to 4 years, Oda is consistent with his chapters (of course he is younger, but Im just comparing there put out. Not trying to say Togashi should work like Oda.), At this rate I feel One Piece will end before Hunter x Hunter ends.

The only way you know One Piece is about halfway done is because the author said it is.

There are an unknown number of islands at any given point the Straw Hats happen to be to their destination, not to mention if needed they can actually go backwards to revisit some other island (plenty of people have done this before). At this point there is still zero progress toward obtaining One Piece itself. This isn't even like Inuyasha where they occasionally have to remind you that the jewel is 'almost complete' and have to come up with a new explanation every now and then to explain why the jewel isn't completed yet even though they must have a zillion fragments of the said jewel. That's why One Piece can go on forever because the actual progress of the story is zero. The only way you can make any sense of the story's progression is because the author said so.

On the other hand in HXH the Spiders aren't going to elude Kurapika forever (or vice versa). Killua is going to eventually figure out what he wants to do (and did). Gon is eventually going to catch up with Ging (which he did too). If Togashi isn't super lazy it might take longer before this happens but it's a matter of time because HXH isn't a story where the main plot have zero progress toward them. Now HXH can probably go on forever if it starts focusing on the other characters, but the main characters story has an ending and it is probably going to end rather soon.
