Hello and welcome to the last seasonal art contest of 2017. Here we have the Photography Category with the Winter theme. Your task is record and submit a picture about the coldest season of the year.

What do I need to know before submission?

All members are welcome to join the contest. There is no minimum post or user status you need to have to participate.
Entries for the contest must be posted in this thread.
Each participant can only submit ONE ENTRY and it must be a new piece. So don’t try to be smart and enter a piece used in past contests.
Submissions not following the weeks theme will result in disqualification. If you have any question about the contest, you can ask it here.
Color corrections and native camera filters can be used, but no excessive manipulation in Photoshop and similar softwares.
Use MangaHelpers’ Media Gallery to upload your entries. Any problem with uploading, let us know. You must credit the artist of the stock images you’re using (see example below). This goes from renders to brushes and textures. If it’s all original art, write so in the credits.
No excessive, suggestive, spoiler, or porn-related imagery in the contest.
Plagiarizing will result in immediate disqualification from this contest and possibly future contests also. Leadership point deductions, loss of artist status and badges, and/or account bans may also occur.
Submission is open until December 3rd, 2017, at 23:00 (GMT)

How do I upload and submit my entry?

Special event rules:

Each group necessarily needs 3 members.
During the Winter Art Contest, 3 Category threads will be up: one for Short Stories, one for Photography and one for Sets (avatar & signature).
A person in each group will be participating in the Short Stories category, another in the Photography category and the last one in the Sets category.
The 3 Contests will run simultaneously, from Nov 19th to Dec 3rd.
At the end of the period, the Voting phase will run from Dec 3rd to Dec 17th.
All the votes for the individual artists will count for their groups.
The winner group will be the one with the biggest amount of votes, summing all of the ones that its members recieved.
All the three winner artists will be awarded with the 2017 Winter Badge.
The groups compositions must be informed here, at any point between Nov 12nd and Dec 3rd.

"Winter"- "Gingerbread House" -by Gryffindor

Apologies if the picture is too small, back when I took this picture I was and still am a novice photographer. I think if you click on the image though, you get a better view.

So one chilly December, at a family gathering, this gingerbread house is built and subsequently destroyed minutes later by a toy hammer, which may or may not have been because of me. The saddest part however, is that the Gingerbread Man didn't even get to see the completion of his home. He was unfortunately eaten before the house's construction was completed. And no, it was not me.
I wasn't really a fan of the background, too much going on for my liking, but it is what it is.
Also, the phrase on the house is "YOLO". Yeah, that phrase used by Drake in his song, I wanted a reindeer face on the front of the house, but since I didn't buy the materials, I didn't get to choose and they went with meme phrase instead :facepalm

. In the end it made for tasty dessert, nice treat

Winter Art Contest: Photography - Moominland Midwinter by Ustegius

Photo by me. Panasonic GH5 + Olympus M. Zuiko 12-40mm PRO ED. Finalized in Photoshop. The Moomin statue belongs Moomin Museum @ Tampere-talo, Tampere, Finland.

Moominvalley Midwinter (Trollvintern, Taikatalvi) is a book in the Moomin series created by finlands-swedish author and illustrator Tove Jansson. The world's only Moomin Museum resides in my home town Tampere, it displays wide variety of Toves original art and sculptions. On the front yard of the Museum resides this little bronze Moomin, bravely standing thorough bot the dangers and the wonders of winter, just like in the book.

Tried to give the photo that 80s film camera look and feel. Feels only fitting for the Museum, that was founded in the late 80s and bloomed in the early 90s during the airing of Tanoshii no Moomin Ikka animated series.

Stay warm, Mister Fox by MarmaladeSky

Went on a nice walk on a cold day with mister Fox. Obviously it was cold enough that even he needed to wrap himself up to stay warm.
