Well, there has been a lot of discussion about the makeup of the Japanese team, and the author is building up the American team with great gusto. But it's almost easy to forget we are to enter a World Cup, not just America V Japan. On this note is the discussion based around.
Firstly, how large will the competition be and what format will it be run in? That is, will it be complete knock-out, will there be trial games, will it have pools much like soccer world cups? etc
Secondly, what other countries will attend the world cup? I was completely unaware of how American Football is internationally, so I consulted everyone's favourite research tool, Wikipedia, to find this:
"National leagues exist in Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Finland, Sweden, Japan, Mexico, Israel, Spain, Austria and several Pacific Island nations."
I also recommend this for a read: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_football#Outside_the_United_States
Don't limit guesses to what is here though. It is manga, and for all we know the artist will have a desperate need to draw some Indians or something. You can also place guesses as to who you expect the strong and weak teams to be.
So yes, hypothesize away.
Definitely attending countries (will be updated as chapters come out):
America
Japan
Possibilities:
Canada (high possibility)
Germany
Italy
Switzerland
Finland
Sweden
Mexico
Israel
Spain
Austria
Australia
New Zealand
United Kingdom
