Looking for a manga to read and I was wondering should I try this one.

Y/N? Why? Does it have good art, plot, characters and fights?

Yes, yes, yes and yes.

The art evolves, but if you really want proof of that you might want to look into Crows first (since that looks insanely different from current day Worst).

The plot is very focussed, it's about the same thing now as it was when it started, but it's good at what it does. It centers around actions, events, rather than ideas or concepts. Don't really know how to put it.

Characters are awesome, it takes some getting used to the sheer volume of characters, but if you like them, you'll be able to tell them apart soon enough.

Fights are realistic, no beams or use of the elements or people being hit through layers of solid rock. It probably has the most realistic fights in any series where fights are central (some might argue Holyland, I don't know for sure, I never got that far into that series).

Like he said, it's a fairly simple manga, thematically. The author has his beliefs and he's sticking to them.

Like he said, lots of characters. More importantly, there are a lot of characters that you can really get behind, no matter what tickles your fancy (from scrappy underdogs to jerkass villains). He's not big on "good vs. evil", which I agree with and support.

Also, it's really funny (though not in a gag way). Few moments are taken so seriously that nobody get's a joke in.

I, too, would recommend checking out Crows first as well, despite it not being fully (or even mostly) scanned. Enough of the plot and characters from Crows are referenced in Worst that it'd probably help, though not enough that you can't read it first.

The raws for this series come from tank volumes. The new one comes out soon. They've been on a bit of a hiatus. Go to the DM forum or CrowsXWorst.com for more details.

Series went on a break after Gaiden ended (as it said on the last Gaiden page :O). First new RAW will be out early October.

It's never explicitly said, but presumably somewhere around Tokyo, though not right smack in the middle of the city (no famous landmarks or areas are ever mentioned or shown). As for "when", it's impossible to say really. There are several different things in the series you can use as reference (a magazine that was mentioned once, brand clothing, music sung by various characters), but using any more than two at the same time will result in anachronisms.

thanks loktar, that was informative. i agree that its around tokyo, im thinking that it might be pushing small town location.

as for the time period i was wondering about what kinds of technology we've seen, cellphones, computers, anything like that because i feel like its the 90's or something based on the cloathing and buildings.

Late 90s, early naughties would be your best bet yes (aside from some recent music, but you'll just have to ignore that).

It's kinda like Hajime no Ippo where in the manga, kids are at one point nagging at Sendo to buy them a SNES, whereas in the anime they're talking about a PS2. It's just... impossible to tell (though the manga of Ippo is confirmed to still take place in the 90s)

It's kindof caught in between trying to be somewhat current, and remaining consistent with Crows, which is supposed to have happened about 4 years earlier in-story, but was written in the early 90s.
