We do know that at one point during this arc of xxxHolic and TRC the time in both series the same - when Watanuki(or at least his consciousness) was transported for a brief moment to where the Syaorans and Sakuras in TRC were.

Well, aside from more cooking lessons on the side, I think it's pretty much over. We'll probably just get some closure on her case at the end or something...?

This chapter was a bit short, and it wasn`t really intresting either. I`m glad that the cooking lady (we don`t know her name) found her happines at least. Now to the real mystery....WHEN IN HELL WILL YUKO TURN UP AGAIN!!??

Food Lady is now Cooking Lady! I feel strangely happy for her, she's decided to acknowledge reality after all!I think she'll find she'll make rapid progress from now on I wonder if Watanuki will start to be able to taste his own food. It's about time for him to do so frankly, he's come SO far

I hope we do find out what's going on with Yuuko. I assume we will soon. At risk of stating the extreme obvious, cooking lady's arc has closed and now we can move on! Now the plot is getting there.

Did anyone else find it mildly hilarious that they were urging us to read TRC at the end? Like I need encouragement.

Was it just me who thought the scene were Watanuki takes the riceballs as the tutoring fee was very similar to how Yûko would demand payment for fullfilling a wish? This could be another hint that this was a transitional-arc, where Watanuki starts taking over the position as the store owner.

I want to know where Yuuko's body is! If it's anywhere. Because it CANNOT be in the dream world, unless clamp has messed up their rules about worlds. Oh dam I just remembered Nihon. But it doesn't make SENSE.

And yes, I did think the way Watanuki received the price was VERY Yuuko. Heheh.

You know what I want? I want to see Zashiki Warashi again! She's awesome. The scene where Watanuki saves her from Joro Gumo is the first one where Watanuki shows that he actually has pwnage. It's my second favourite in xxxHolic after the one where Watanuki tells Yuuko he watns to grant her wish

My favourite part of xxxholic is when Watanuki falls out of the window and he meets his 'parents' in the dream world. Whether it was his parents or not is debatable but it is such a moving scene!!

But i love the jororgumo arc as well!! Watanuki grows so much in that arc!

i still hate the 'cooking lady" as we are now supposed to call her. and that won't change. i still feel that shes useless and unoplotimportant. and it cracked me up when a freind said that in ther blog. but hopefully we've just seen the last of her and we can move foreward and get sum stupid answers. sheesh. but at least the pace of release has picked up.

NOTHING is unplotimportant (nice word!). I think we all need to remember (well I do at any rate) that the of xxxHolic isn't the story of TRC or Yuuko, it's the story of Watanuki. Cooking Lady is his first client, she's AT LEAST as important to his story as the TRC stuff is. Think of all the "I want to know myself" things Watanuki says when talking to her. If that isn't important, what is?

That aside, here's to moving forward and getting some stupid answers!

I've been rereading xxxHolic and I've got some question theories. The first is this: Watanuki immediately starts shouting for Yuuko after he sees random new Syaoran and Sakura (who HAVE to be his parents on the strength of that scene alone). I'm wondering if this means he's clued in to the fact that they're very important to him and is looking for Yuuko so she can tell him who exactly they are. As far as we know the locket with the picture of Watanuki with his family is still in the shop. It'll be interesting to see if that will matter at all.

Secondly, does the oft repeated "The dream must end" have any implications for the dream world_ Also, does "dream" strictly referr to sleeping dreams or is it more of a place outside material reality that is easier to reach through dreams? I think this is more likely.

"The dream" is probably the wish to bring someone dead back to life. In the beggining of volume 14 in Tsubasa, Yuko says that "there will be no second time", implying that "the dream" has been trying to become reality once before. The person that time was most likely Clow. Yuko was probably also involved in that.

I think by "there will be no second time" she means that there will be no second time with that person.

I think the line "the dream must end" is interesting, because it implies that... FWR would have to stop wanting to bring back that person. Because that's the dream, and that line isn't referring to the realization of that dream. Obviously the line could apply to the fact that him having this dream has messed spectacularly with time-space, but then why'd they wait until after all that happened to try and make the "dream end", because... This seems kinda weird and getting overly analytical of the line which could quite simply be saying that FWR must be stopped.

Although... Are dreams the same as wishes? In English it has that alternate meaning, but in Japanese it might just refer to sleeping dreams. Or like, the dream world. We don't know enough about the dream world. Haruka, for example, is dead, but he shows up there. Does that mean that the dream world is linked with wherever dead souls go? Also, the rule that only souls can go there seems very arbitrary, and why is there a tree in there?! Seriously, why is the sakura in there. It's just so random, to have a single tree in this huge dark empty space. It might be irrelevant and just for the sake of aesthetic, but still. Also, the shop, as we've already been over, seems to be linked to the dream world.

So the line "the dream must end" might be only indirectly linked to FWR. Hm. What's going on with dreams at the moment... Nothing in holic, really. In tsubasa the clones and yuko are in a dream, but that doesn't seem like it'd be linked. Hm... FWR seems to be losing at the moment, but I don't know how long that'll last. If this was all it took to beat him then Yuuko and Clow wouldn't be working in the background. With "the dream must end", for them to be talking about it already it must be something that's already going on, but I can't think of any dreams that have been constantly ongoing throughout holic and tsubasa. Unless the dream world like actually is someones dream. That'd be really random.
