I can't tell you why it's fun since the reason why I, and a lot of other people too, is 100% subjective. But I can tell you why I think it's fun, and it's just simply - because it's easy, simple, often very random and a fun way to just load off your thoughts and to read your friends do the same, reply to them etc.

It's like a site filled with your friends status updates, but more random, more lax and not the huge load of spam comments.


@ 3ccm - I started drinking in 8th/9th grade, so I was like, going to turn 15. I only got really drunk once, I was a good boy!

16 - light beer
18 - stronger beer, up to 7% and liquor in pubs
21 - buy liquor and drink wtf you want

Blai, isn't that basically almost exactly the same as Facebook? My "update wall" is always filled with status updates by friends and friends making comments on those updates.

Haha, I was a rather late bloomer. I tried drinking a few times from 15-16, but nothing serious. I never got really drunk in those two years. Then I started at 17 "for real". Since then it's been a joy-ride year after year

Ah I meant that many don't start drinking before 18 here. Though alot start at 17, fewer at 16 and some even earlier (puke fest?). It's kinda funny for you guys though. You are basically adults for 3 years without being allowed to drink a single drop of alcohol. And suddenly when you turn 21 you can drink 80%! I think a "step up" system like we do is better in a way. You can start earlier and advance two years later to stronger stuff. Though it's annoying as hell. It was a pain in the ass back in the day to get alcohol over 20% as one gets bored of beer

Yeah kinda. I'm not gonna hold myself away from the flask atleast if I went all the way to Miami. It's one of the places I want to go to the most, and I've heard alot about the clubs there. I'd be a fool to not go out half of the nights I spend there atleast. And all of us feel that way, so by having a single one in the gang that doesn't make 21 before June we're kinda doomed. It would be beyond cruel to leave him at the hotel every night we went out. (Maybe we should....?)

Honestly the thought of solders not being able to drink is beyond my imagination. When I was in the army the highlight of the week was drinking in weekends. Take that away and you have a miserable existance.

Well, I am 21 this summer so it's no problem for me. The problem is for my friend as he probably won't be able to enter the clubs and so on. Kinda mean to leave him out, haha.
