Re: How much manga have you bought?

I own:
Death Note 1-12
Love Hina 1-14
Ranma 1/2 1-21
U.S. Shonen Jump 0-Current

Generally I like to finish a manga series before I start a new one...

Re: How much manga have you bought?

I can't remember I how I bought ever since I actuallt start collect manga (not reading manga). But I do remember i bought 20-30 titles every week (in VN, manga are published weekly), now online I think I have about 300 different titlles for the ogoing mangas Well, I kow I sound like a maniac to remember the number like that but sometime I do feel horrified at how much I am sucked into manga XD

Re: How much manga have you bought?

Eh, not much...

Love Hina 1-14
Initial D 1-4
Chobits 1-4
.hack//Dust 1-3
Full Metal Panic! 1-2
Bleach 1-2
Cowboy Bebop 1-2

Think that is about it... The only series I think I will spend money on atm might be Prince of Tennis (fav. manga atm), but then again, I don't think I might spend money on manga much...

All are original Japanese manga. Since arriving back in Japan I've bought 50-100 tankobon, but haven't cataloged them yet... so I have about 600 volumes in total I guess. i would have more, but I threw out about 300 or so when I first moved back to the US. Manga's heavy, so it wasn't worth shipping the stuff I didn't really care about.

Re: How much manga have you bought?

Wooo.....looks like a lot, but I can't read some of the Jap words.
Can only figure out Tenjo Tenhe, and Rurouni Kenshin, i think

Show off your Naruto (and others) Tankoban!

I know that many, many people here probably leech off of the series by reading it online only, not buying the graphic novels (America and elsewhere) or tankoban (Japan and elsewhere), thus essentially taking away what support could have been if one had bought the tankoban. I know there is support, lots of it, in the weekly Shonen Jump, but I'd like to post pictures of the tankoban collections. If you've got Japanese tankoban, post those as well!

By the way, I looked 5 pages back and didn't see any thread like this, but if this is in the wrong place, or if there is a thread I missed, do what you (MODs) need to fix it.

Alright, here's mine! It's nothing special at all, I don't have any Japanese tankoban, and the only one I'm missing is 15. I'm really excited for Naruto Nation, 3 tankoban a month! Woohoo! I'll also post a link for other tankoban I have.

Spoiler

I'll post my other tankoban collections so that this thread isn't too boring, I know it's a bit off topic, considering this is the Naruto section, but hopefully those MODs will be forgiving.

Bleach:
All but one.

Dragonball:
Only a few, but some of the best!

Re: Show off your Naruto (and others) Tankoban!

US book price is way too expensive. I used to collect tons but had to leave them behind when I moved here. I had the entire series of Doraemon, Dragonball/Z, YuuYuuHakusho, Saint Seiya. If you can afford them, sure, show your support. But not everyone can pocket out the cash to support.

Well, that's business. I don't have a problem with people not buying it and leaving it as it be. I do, however, have a problem with the people that read the manga online, yet don't support the very person they nearly worship by not buying either Shonen Jump, which is supporting in a different way, or buying the tankoban that comes out, which is the main way of supporting the manga. So yes, if money is a problem, well, that's tough, but reading it online and not supporting it someway, somehow...well, that's just hypocritical and stupid.

Reading something, praising it, wanting more, then not support it by buying what Kishimoto makes? Well, that my friends is irony at it's best. "We want more!" "Go buy the books and support Kishimoto so he can make more and make a living off of it!" "....No!" Anyway, I digress, this is for people that do support it and want to post their pictures of collections, either of tankoban in America or Japan, I'd like to see some Japanese ones!

Re: Show off your Naruto (and others) Tankoban!

Ah, that's awesome, Fiddle! Thank you for that. Good stuff, that's really neat. I'm hoping to study Japanese in college for a few years so that I can at least buy some of the Japanese tankoban and enjoy them, I hate waiting the eternity it takes for tankoban to be translated and shipped across America, they're so lazy with manga (even lazier with anime). I love the Bleach 22 & 23 covers!

Re: Show off your Naruto (and others) Tankoban!

I almost forgot.

SoulEater (If you ever get a hold on this manga., BUY IT!!):

But honestly people. It's maybe abit expensive but it feels really good to buy the books and they often looks really cool. It also feels good to buy the books and then think "thanks for the good manga and keep up the good work". I don't think expensive is a good excuse to read the manga online, especially if you've never bought a manga in your entire life.

THX for this nice thread AxelCross. Bought all the manga while I've been living here in japan ^^

Re: Show off your Naruto (and others) Tankoban!

Hey guys !

I can't post photos sadly (I'm not home where my mangas are for a year) but I fully agree with AxelCross on the matter of supporting!
Actually I've got all the Dragon Ball series (well I bought them years ago but I keep them preciously ^^ ), Onime no Kyo (all of those avaible in France), and of course all the Naruto avaible too (that's to the 23rd tome). I plan on collecting the One Piece when I get enough money (but hey 35 + tomes makes it a very expensive wish hehe).

Re: Show off your Naruto (and others) Tankoban!

well i really cant buy either shonen jump or the tankoban
i live in the caribbean guys, we dont see those thing around EVER!!!! and in trinidad even at our very RARE comic/anime convention we still dont get it to buy really
all i have access to are the online versions, which i read and i am IMMENSELY greatfull for.
if it was more readily available here and at an affordable price i would buy it
