I always think of this too. Under what context can Zoro face Mihawk? (ignoring the Shiryuu option coz there's ways that can happen).

Shiryuu is a given, but when is the question. I was just wondering about Mihawk but given Mihawk did teach Zoro, it can be a fight for respect rather than for the title. If Zoro can beat MIhawk then that also means he's ready to take on whoever beat Mihawk for the title. I'm also curious if Zoro will fight Vista as well, since Vista is notable enough that even Mihawk knows of him.

Afaik, it didnt say that Zoro isnt Shimotsuki. He could be from another Shimotsuki family(Kozaburo and Ushimaru could be brothers or something).
He still keeps Zoro's lineage in the dark and only teases, he is doing it for far too long, the beans need to be spilled already...

Zoro is most likely a side branch member whereas Koshiro and Kuina are main branch. Like Hyuga clan from Naruto

I loathe the idea of a side branch. For me, it carries certain negative connotation to it.

It looks to be confirmed that Ryuma is also a Shimotsuki and it's not just a nickname. So that'd mean 3 swords that Zoro has/ has had belonged to the Shimotsuki at point or another and forged by them.

We donbt know who is a side branch, there could be several Shimotsuki branches... Kozaburo, Ushimaru, Yasuie...

A negative connotation? That's interesting. I wouldn't. Side branches often have to prove themselves more so than main branch members and in doing so sometimes exceed the main branches.

I use Naruto because it is still fresh in people's mind. But Neji was an example of a branch member exceeding the abilities of a main branch member.

Zoro has to have some type of lineage to explain why he is so strong. Being a descendant of Wano would explain his strength.

I expect he is a descendant of Ryuma most likely

Pretty sure it is because of his hard work. Lineage doesnt make you strong except possibly granting you CoC, this is not Naruto.
One thing it would explain is where did a little kid got the idea to be WSS.

It's in his blood if it turns out he is a descendant of Wano, Land of Swordsmen

Lineage is a huge factor within One Piece. That's not debateable honestly.

Who became strong just because they were born in strong lineage? Without hard work, he is nothing, whether he is an orphan or a royal.

Lineage doesnt make you strong, but it produces strong/power offspring or decendants... unusually strong/powerful.

Ryuma "Sword God" would produce strong offspring. It's simple genetics. Don't get upset about it

Having hard time believing it, Yasuie, Ushimaru, Kozaburo, Koshiro dont seem anything out of ordinary...
Zoro is the character who trains the most among all the characters of One piece, that's the reason why he is strong.

Please try to keep your arguements consistant.

If Zoro isn't from Wano you have nothing to worry about anyway... but if he truly is a descendant of Ryuma it will be discussed way more.

I am consistent...
He wasnt shown training once after TS(he became too stronk). Before TS all the training still makes him the guy who trains the most.
I am not worried either way, whether he is from Wano or not, lineage didnt make him strong, it didnt make anyone strong.

You seem pretty worried actually, not sure why. Your inconsistency has been increasing recently. You cant say he trains harder than anyone and then run to a different thread and say he hasn't trained and expect people to just shrug it off.

You have nothing to shrug off, it is a manga fact which you should accept. You disagree with manga?
Also, nothing to be worried about, only correcting your expectations that lineage is an explanation for why Zoro is so strong. He fought a top tier for 2 years, he wasnt becoming buddies with animals for 2 years. Did you forget that? Maybe that is a reason why he is so strong.

So I just reread every bit of Mihawk's and Zoro's interactions from the official translations and not once is it even HINTED that they fought. No doubt they did, Zoro lost his eye after all.. but 2 years of fighting Mihawk made him stronger than Luffy (who only played around with animals).... just another comment with no fact to back it.

How hard is it to come up with a single post that you can back up?

Of course you can't provide a panel so stop stating it as fact. And common sense also tells us not to state things as fact unless it is actually a fact. We dont know if they fought ever day or once a month or just once. Nor do you know the details of such training.

You have no idea!

Luffy could have easily fought with Rayleigh the same amount of times Zoro fought with Mihawk and you have no way of knowing.

It's just poor debating and comes off as bait/trolling. Dont act as if you know what happened in those 2 years.
