I also don't think Zoro keeps Enma. I just think it has too much value to the Kozuki family, and in the end a new sword will be forged for him. I just see Tenguyama making him his own sword. It's not like Tenguyama is a slouch or anything, he did make Oden's other sword, one of the 21 great swords, so him making Zoro his own blade, something at that level or higher, would make sense. And Zoro already carries his other blade, Sandai Kitetsu.

Oden intended for his swords to be passed to his kids. I can't see Zoro keeping one. I understand that Hiyori "gifted" it to him, but I still can't see it leaving Wano.

The way I want it to go, Zoro keeps Wado Ichimonji. Tenguyama trades the Nidai for the Sandai. And then creates a special new blade for Zoro, something that is on the level of Enma and Ame no Habakiri.

I mean, first leaving Shusui, then going to the trouble of getting used to Enma to then just give it back to the Kozuki clan? I don't know how I would feel about that.

Let Zoro keep his Enma, and as for Tenguyama forging a new katana, there's that other third sword that I keep forgetting the name of, that could get replaced instead.

PS: oh it's Sandai Kitetsu, right. It was in the post above lol. Oh and I didn't notice the last paragraph of your post @thedude ... That is way likelier than Zoro simply returning Enma back to the Kozuki.

Although I still feel that with all the Zoro—Oden parallels Enma should stay with Zoro.

It's family legacy sword thought that be passed down with Enma, of course it have legacy of others before it as it's family heirloom, so it shouldn't stop Momo having the right to take it for himself and use it one day along with Ame.
I truly don't get this. Momo has the right of asking for the sword just like I could ask Zoro to give it to me. His sister gave the sword away so it's not like Zoro stole it from his family.

Just like Ace doesn't have a higher claim to Roger's straw hat just because he's his son. The straw hat naturally went Roger > Shanks > Luffy and it's Luffy's until it returns to Shanks.

If Zoro eventually leaves Enma behind it won't be because Momo "has some higher right to the blade than him". Zoro can have a new blade made for him just like Momo can have one even better made for him.

Got say that kinda bad example you use. Momo is close to his father and feels swords belong to him and his family. They are entrusted on that as guven birthright. Doesn't make sense they continue on with life and give their swords away when like Ryuma's, they are important and sacred to the country just the same. I can't see Zoro keeping them especially he can be offer another sword if he can do the same of letting go Shusui.

Ace doesn't want nothing to do with Roger. He stated as young kid he isn't interested in him as a father even though there some respect and some familial love when those talk bad about him. Though we see through Whitebeard he want make him PK and see him more of father to be in his legacy instead despite being PK's son. If he doesn't mind that, why he want his father's hat? There is no deep bond compare to Oden and Momo given both situation and backstories. These are not same nor circumstances about it.

Momo doesn't need new blade, he wants his father's swords. That doesn't sound right in narrative especially he love and want to be like his father. Why give away a sword from him forever to someone? I don't think it go like that especially Zoro passing up getting new sword in exchange will happen again. Give chance to see something new and put his achievements on it than already known sword by someone's achievements on it.

Zoro is no Oden. Luffy is the Oden from how Oda pushes parallels about them and there was even colored-spread cover of Luffy drinking with Roger and Oden. Having his sword doesn't make you same as person especially arc treated Zoro on his end. He will get a new sword and that how it's going to be. It was expected Zoro will get new swords in course of journey. This is the same, but make sense overall why it is possible leading into this one.

@Moegara is right and you're wrong. Your arguments on this particular topic are baseless.

The bottom line when it comes to Enma is clearly stated by its owner Hiyori on the panel below (ch954). The swords were passed down individually to her and her brother. She has claim over Enma and Momo has claim over Ame no Habakiri. Momo has zero claim over this sword, the only person who does willingly gave it to Zoro.

Momo being close to his father has nothing to do with the sword, it wasn't entrusted to him. NOW, IF Hiyori had given Zoro Ame no Habakiri then first of all that would be wrong as it isn't hers to give, secondly Momo could request for it back at any point and Zoro wouldn't have a leg to stand on. Whether or not he had agreed to forfeit Shusui.

So any way you see it, you'll be wrong on this because it's just a simple case of ownership but you're trying to overcomplicate it by bringing in a 3rd party. The only thing open for any sort of debate is whether or not Zoro will keep this until the end of the series or get something else down the line. Either way, Momo would only become relevant in that discussion if Ame no Habakiri is brought up.

Momo himself said he can't even wield the sword that he has ownership of, why the hell would be pursue something else? (ch955) and that's not even considering his age and what level of ability it would take to wield these swords.

Momo has never mentioned wanting his father's swords. We never heard anything about said swords until Hiyori mentioned their names. What does his love for his father have to do with the ownership of the sword...which belongs to his sister?

Also Zoro isn't passing up anything. He sees mastering Enma as a challenge to help him become stronger. Oden's previous achievements with them is no reason for Zoro to refuse the sword.

Was Shusui a sword created specifically for Zoro or did it not belong to a samurai dubbed "Sword God" beforehand? If Zoro was bothered by that, he would've refused to wield it, and only keeping it on his person or storing it until he could return it to Ryuma's grave.

Was Wado Ichimonji created specifically for Zoro or did that also not belong to someone else?

If previous ownership was a reason to not wield a weapon, I doubt many or any of the swordsmen in OP would wield any of the meito that they have.

There is no right or wrong, just personal opinions on topic like this as you think I am only one who stated Zoro getting new sword and giving back Enma? Are you saying those who stated prior in past posts are wrong too? Got be more unbiased before shutting down possibility as I don't back on something for being baseless if I wasn't sure about it.

Plus from your example, if that is the case then Idk Hiyori said he can use it forever though just to stop him having Shusui which he was still trying to get until they bargain him with it. If so then, it can happen again if the y want the swords back and give Zoro new sword as reward. Panels shows no hint you said it will always belong to Zoro though so can't push your side right when or know future results either. We talking about possible conclusions, not '100% this going to happen!' stuff on the discussion on what happen later. Neither are baseless, but not guarantee either.

So? Getting new sword be another challenge if it turns to be equal or another grade than the last. Are you saying Zoro wouldn't take it either? He wouldn't take the challenge? Also when this being about all swords need be created for him? Talking about his achievements not being overshadowed by someone else as that seems where Oda is pushing, not Zoro's opinions. Also you do know Shusui many debated here he wouldn't give it anyway and look what happen. What makes Enma special he won't do same if he sees better bargain later? Just saying possibilities which are wrong and can still happen just like your claim Enma will stay with him in future without proof on that either.

Also technically Oda has been giving him blades on more making his own achievements on without no one else prior or at least not big enough. 2 swords fit on that mold, so possible for new sword be same so that all his swords are will have legacy of his achievements together. It's possibility, but not guarantee a bit though. That what I been saying on matter for him.

Hmmm on a topic like this there is a right and wrong. As to your question, now that is personal opinion and I already answered that in the post quoted:

The only thing open for any sort of debate is whether or not Zoro will keep this until the end of the series or get something else down the line. Either way, Momo would only become relevant in that discussion if Ame no Habakiri is brought up.

See the quote above. You're right Hiyori doesn't say explicitly that Zoro can keep the sword forever but it is implied as Zoro agreed to turn over Shushui for it to rest on Ryuma's grave forever. Even with that said, the only thing that can be debated is Zoro maybe being forged a new sword, but in my opinion he'll keep Enam beyond this arc and if anything changes it will just be to upgrade his Sandai Kitetsu to the Nidai that Tenguyama has.

That said why are you trying to push this forever thing on me? that's not what I'm discussing in my post. We're talking about you believing Momo has any sort of claim on this sword. Which the images show that he doesn't.

Also this is the likely reason Hiyori offered Zoro Enma in the first place and not a new sword right off the bat and why I believe he won't be trading Enma back in this arc; they were made by the same person and unless the other sword he gets is of a higher grade, I don't see it happening.

So? Getting new sword be another challenge if it turns to be equal or another grade than the last. Are you saying Zoro wouldn't take it either? He wouldn't take the challenge? Sure, getting a new sword is also a challenge but why wasn't that the first option Oda went with? (hint, the answer is in this post(!))

Now for the second time in this post you're trying to put words in my mouth. Were we not discussing Momo's claim on the sword or have you conceded your points and want to talk about something else?

The highlighted portion, specifically the "Also when this being about all swords need be created for him? " part. What do you mean by this?

So many people believed Zoro wouldn't give up Shusui before he was offered Enma, what has that got to do with Momo's claim on the sword? Unless you're saying Momo is going to offer a better sword in exchange for Enma, in which case that's a fair discussion point. What sword would Momo offer him? especially considering the fact he's not willing to wield the one sword that he has claim over.

Yes, anything is possible....except Momo's claim over Enma.

Achievements have nothing to do with preventing ownership; that's something you brought up in your previous post. All of Zoro's previous swords are named swords, which means they belonged to someone else before him. And regardless of whether their achievements/reputations were bigger or small than him, he still wielded them all the same.

What two swords are you talking about that fit "that mold"?

A new sword is definitely possible, but why is Hiyori offering Zoro a new sword?

Not implied as just give it to him not official they are ok for him having It forever. Even Kappa (Sorry forgot his name) was shock and didn't like she did that, so he didn't win any of blessings for them fully be alright with it as far as Scabbards goes. I respect your opinion as it do see possibility if he does keep it after arc, but just saying it's not farfetched to say he returns it and they give him new sword as a reward as if bargain got him to agree to trade away Shusui, then same with Enma as only precious sword he wouldn't be Wado which make sense while rest he doesn't mind trading away.

You told me from my posts I was saying all swords are created for Zoro, but I never said that. I was just saying that it's not case on why he gets the blades.

Momo could as after arc, wouldn't he be new Shogun and thus take throne on wanting back swords while offering new blade which fit's Oda's narrative on that type of route happening. Sword could be same grade or higher grade than Enma to give to Zoro which is likely to happen when they want give him new sword and new challenge for him to work with for future arcs.

Kinda does as we see Oda does have him keep ones with big legacy for Shusui for example, so could be same for Enma depending what happens after the arc if it doesn't go this arc, could go away later. He looks to have him make his own achievements on his swords that have little to no status among swords. Talking in writing perspective than how Zoro feels I mean. Sorry for the confusion.

On Hiyori side, I can see her wanting sword back if she truly didn't mean he can keep it forever, but give new reward of new weapon for him in the end. I can see that factor with either her or Momo for rewarding him. Possibility, but not guarantee.

There are two ways of speculation.

1. One can speculate based on things that have happened in the manga.

For example, let's take some facts straigth for the manga:

- Zoro was offered Enma instead of being offered a brand new sword super katana forged speciffically for him by Tenguyama Hitetsu.

They had the chance to give Zoro any inferior sword or forge him a new one before the Onigashima raid. They had the time, yet it wasn't even suggested. Why would they change their mind after the arc?

- It doesn't matter how Tenguyama Hitetsu or any of the Scabbard reacted to Hiyori giving Enma to Zoro, because Hiyori was the one and only rightful owner of Enma, which makes Zoro its one and only rightful owner. It doesn't matter who cries because they want the sword, there would be no moral obligation for Zoro to give it back.

- Enma's legacy has as much relation to Zoro than it does to Momo.

Yes, you read that right. Enma was wielded by Oden, who was Momo's father, so its legacy to Momo is obvious.

However, Enma was forged by Shimotsuki Kozaburo. The same man who forged Wado Ichimonji, Zoro's most treasured sword, and the founder of the Shimotsuki village in the East Blue and the father of Koushirou; the village in which Zoro grew up and Zoro's master (practically a father to him).

Legacy, to be honest, in this sense, is not that important to me, but for those who care that much about Oden's and Momo's legacy, they should also care about Kozaburo's, Koushirou's, Ichimonji's and Zoro's legacy.

Does this all mean that Zoro won't leave Enma behind or change it for something better? No, it does not mean it CAN'T happen. However, these facts are bases by which a person can speculate that Zoro probably won't leave Enma behind.

2. On the other hand, one can also speculate based on desires instead of actual tellings shown in the manga.

For example:

- Zoro will leave Enma behind and get a new sword because I think Momo will ask him for the sword back.

This would imply one of two things. Either Momo doesn't respect Zoro as a swordsman after this whole arc is over, just like Kuina tried to get Zoro's back because "he's a pirate so he's no worthy of them". Or Momo becomes greedy and wants both of his father's swords (despite never showing any desire for Enma and having NEVER been the owner of Enma himself before).
Both implications would make Momo's character suck a bit as a Shogun.

If Zoro were to leave Enma behind, there are other more likely reasons than Momo's nonexistent claim on the sword.

This way of speculation ignores the tellings from the manga and gives preference to the things a specific reader would want to see in the manga.
This also doesn't mean it can't happen, but it's a baseless speculation and so it's not probable.

There really is no reason why Zoro can't take Enma with him. Wouldn't he want to collect powerful swords anyway?

I don't follow. Why would Zoro let go of Enma? It belonged to Hiyori and she gave it to him in exchange of Shisui which is a national treasure of Wano. It's his sword now.
I think Moe is the only one suggesting this? And from the looks of it, you do not want to read his explanations as to why, but I'm sure Moegara might offer to summarize it. In any case, it's a renown and dangerous sword, so that's another reason why it'd belong to Zoro, and why he's the perfect user, but I based this primarily on him throwing a cursed sword and seeing it'd slice his arm off back during Alabasta ARc, I believe, when he first came across Tashigi.

"Momo will claim the sword because it was his father's and Zoro has no right to wield Oden's legacy. He should make a legacy of his own with a brand new sword".
There. In two sentences.

Oden gave a sword to his two kids so Momo has no rights over Enma.
Now, good luck with explaining that to Moe.

Jokes aside, I am up for Zoro leaving Enma in Wano when they move on.
If there is any benefit from getting used to Enma, the sword has served its purpose.
It no longer offers anything so no need to still use it.

I am personally not a fan of the Enma's guard design and prefer the Kitetsus.
There is Nidai Kitetsu that nobody wants, it's begging Zoro to take it with him.
However, thematically Enma has a lot in common with Zoro since it's hell themed just like one of the 6 paths that Zoro seems to be mastering.
It is possible that Sandai gets replaced by Nidai but I would prefer Enma out, Nidai in with hope of having all 3 Kitetsus at some point. 🤞

The only way I see Zoro switching Wado Ichimonji for another Kitetsu is after he has already accomplished his promise to Kuina.

Or simply going Yontoryu. :feelsgoodman
Yeah, that would be the right timing but that is the end of the story for Zoro and the moment he can get Shodai Kitetsu is when he meets Gandhi from Gorosei.
Another way to do it is if he keeps Wado Icimonji with him but fights with 3 Kitetsus, however, after obtaining the 3rd one, there is possibly only one fight left, against Mihawk, unless he joins in against Imu or whoever might pop up after Gorosei...

I don't follow. Why would Zoro let go of Enma? It belonged to Hiyori and she gave it to him in exchange of Shisui which is a national treasure of Wano. It's his sword now.
LOL mate, don't even... :XD

What does Kawamatsu have to do with it? He can disagree all he wants( all the scabbards can in fact), the sword belonged to Hiyori. She's the only one who gets to decide its fate. As for the rest of it about Zoro trading the sword back for another, I disagree and my previous posts explains why.

You told me from my posts I was saying all swords are created for Zoro, but I never said that. I was just saying that it's not case on why he gets the blades.
No. You argued that Zoro should have a sword from which he could build its own achievements as reason for him not having Enma but a new sword. I replied by saying that if that were the case Zoro wouldn't have any of his swords and the same could be said for many swordsmen who have meitos.

Momo could become Shogun or Pirate King. He would still have no claim on the sword, it's not his to argue over.

It's perfectly fine for you to think that, I disagreed and showed why. We can agree to disagree there, it doesn't bother me. The only point of contention we have is the ownership of Enma and Momo's claim over it, which is factual, therefore can't be disputed.

On Hiyori side, I can see her wanting sword back if she truly didn't mean he can keep it forever, but give new reward of new weapon for him in the end. I can see that factor with either her or Momo for rewarding him. Possibility, but not guarantee.
Why would she want the sword back? she's not a samurai, else she would've joined the fight. Again, that's your opinion that she asks for it back, I don't see any reason why and most definitely Momo has nothing to do with that decision.

Anyway, so it's settled; we're agreeing to disagree on the sword's future (how long Zoro keeps it for) but it's not debatable that Momo has any claim on the sword.
