Shounen Kure-nai by Yamamoto Yamato

This new series begins with the JUMP SQ magazine, and is based on a series of light novels of the same title by Katayama Kentarou (there's three so far). Yamamoto Yamato-sensei also provided the illustrations for the novel.

Kure-nai is about Kurenai Shinkurou, a first-year high school student who also has a job as a freelance "mediator," and lives in a dormitory full of strange people. For some reason, he also appears to be a guardian of a 7-year-old girl named Kuhouin Murasaki. Kurenai hates people who hurt others, because of his own past, and takes on these jobs to help those in need.

Character interpretations are quite different between the anime and manga. I think I like the anime art better.

Sadly the manga doesn't get a lot of love. The anime is really good. It actually takes place right before the manga if I remember correctly.

場面代わり
レッドキャップ「やはり君は僕と似ている　僕も犯罪で皆殺しにされた　そして崩月の門を叩いた」
満たされた修行の毎日のなか、三年後にゆうのが生まれた「君を知って驚いたよ　何から何まで僕と同じじゃないか　僕と　僕と」
「ああああああああああ違う違う違う違う」と言いながらゆうのがレッドキャップを殴る
「違う！真九郎さんはあなたとは違う！あなたのようにはなりません！真九郎さんはあんな…」
レッドキャップ「‘幼なじみを殺したりしない？’　そういえば君にもいたね村上銀子だっけ？」

～女の幼なじみがゆうのの前でレッドキャップに「崩月の修行なんてやめろ」「今のままでかまわない」
と言ってきたので殺すレッドキャップの回想。小さいゆうのが驚いてる
レッド「ごめんねゆうちゃん　こいつの言ったことなんて気にしないで」～

レッドキャップの話をさらに聞いていくと自分と同じだと思い始める真九郎
ゆうのに「そして君も彼の中に忘れらない僕の姿を探していた　来てくれるね僕といっしょに」とレッドキャップ
レッドキャップがゆうのを抱きしめるも動けない真九郎
そこに紫が現れる「しっかりしろ真九郎！お前はあんなやつとは違う　おまえにはわたしがついていることを忘れるな」
ゆうの「「なにをしているんです紫ちゃん！」　レッド「紫…？まさかおまえは…」
紫「わたしは九鳳院紫だ　真九郎をおまえのような小物といっしょにするな！おまえは弱虫だ」
真九郎　～そうだ　俺は弱い　でも紫は　紫だけはこんな俺を受け止めてくれた…　あの時決めたんだ　この子の前でだけは俺は強くあろうと～

～せめてこの子の前でだけは　紅真九郎は強者であろうと～

紫を殺そうとするレッドキャップの攻撃を止める真九郎とゆうの

真九郎「ありがとう紫　おかげで目が覚めたよ」　紫「さあゆうのを連れて帰るぞ」
真九郎「ああ　心配かけてごめん夕乃さん　俺はこいつとは違うよ　おれはもう決して闇にはのまれない　だから安心して」

どこかの砂浜にじいさんがいる場面に変わる「おっぱじまってるようだな　急ぐか」

真九郎の場面に戻る　レッドキャップがふっとばされてる
ゆうの「すごい力　昨日とは別人」
レッドキャップ「なるほど君のバックには九鳳院の力が…そして僕には星噛の力…試してみようか　どちらが崩月の力を使いこなせるか」
