No, unfortunately you're wrong. I find it hard you can form an opinion when you don't watch or read it, sorry. We can troll and say what we want about something but it's hard to take an opinion or critique seriously when you haven't given something a chance. I can say PoT is DBZ with Tennis Rackets, but since I've only ever looked at raws when raw hunting years ago, no one takes my opinion seriously...not even myself.

Your opinion just seemed like someone disliking the new thing getting so much hype. That's all.

I didn't say that, I said I prefer it to Tolkien. You're buying into what you see in regards to the show when you bring up "edgy". The sex isn't bandied about in the same way as the books.

All I said is that the series is way more realistic and believable than Tolkien. There's more gray to it.

Well whatever, this is woefully offtopic...

I watched some of the show, and while I'll grant that there wasn't as much sex in the show as I'd been led to believe, GoT wasn't my cup of tea.

It's true that worlds of light vs dark with massive contrasts between sides don't really exist, so in that extent, any story where there's a gray area is more realistic in a way than LotR. Perhaps it wasn't you then, but some of the people with whom I was discussing GoT with that time said not that they preferred GoT to LotR, but that GoT was better than LotR.

In the end, the only comparisons worth discussing are book vs book, and I definitely prefer ASOIAF over LOTR. This is coming from a massive Tolkien fan who has read the books three times and watched the movies a dozen.

Anyway, in regards of the MG, I definitely hope we manage to produce a GoT theme sometime in the future. That'd be awesome. This one I couldn't care less about. I may cast a random vote between the tie, luls.

Well done, scav, but not exactly. You all told me that GoT was better than LotR and I said that a series that tries to be edgier by adding in adult themes (read: sex) can't be better than LotR. I have nothing against sex in novels, it's just that GoT isn't my cup of tea.

He said Wednesday, and he wouldn't be back before then. Like I think scav said earlier, if it's a tie I bet the theme will be up to him. And even if it isn't a tie, it's still up to him. I'm one who doesn't care what the theme is, so I'm not going to be devastated if he decides to be a bitch and choose his own. I. Don't. Care.
