Summary and Preview

One of the four manga adaptations of the popular video game, "The Legend of Zelda: Link to The Past." In February 2004, it serialized in a single-issue magazine known as "Nintendo Game Comic Special Extra Edition," published by Shogakukan. The complete tankoban was released in July 2005.

The manga recieved a generally positive reception from critics, who -- despite the inclusion of new characters and deviations from the original game plot -- described the story as, "a well-performed comic adaptation, much as expected from a veteran of the game-to-comic genre." To date, the author has adapted 7 of the Zelda games to manga.

"Game Comic Special" is an independent magazine, and is not considered an extra edition of another existing publication.
