Ever since the Uchiha arc started last winter it seems Naruto has choked out every action series other then One Piece. Maybe some day Toriko can get over the hump. But with the big two (I won't acknowledge Bleach as part of the club) as powerful as they are it may be a while.
I think Toriko will get there once the characters get developed more. They're still finding their story right now.

But on another note, here's an interesting piece of info:

Let organize the polls:
Total Votes : 11055

1: Ageha
2: Amamiya
3: Oboro
4: Kagedora
5: Kyle
(note : I guess Kagedora & Kyle got this place as the vote was held immediately after the Kagedora-rescue arc)

6 : Asaga
7 : Federica
8 : Kabuto
9 : Van
10: Marie
11: Miroku
12: Shao
13: Tatsuo
14: Q
15: Shiner
16: Haruhiko
17: Grana
18: Matsuri
19: Inui
20: Junas
21 (tied?): Fubuki & Dholoki
23: Sugida
24: Lan
25 (tied?): Caprico & Iwashiro sensei

Is 11055 a strong number of votes?

Not too sure compared to certain series.

In the last Prince of Tennis poll (which was about 2 years ago now), Atobe alone got 13,000 votes. Although, that's a huge series.

Some vote totals from first polls for series:
Couldn't find the total listed for Prince of Tennis's first poll, but Ryoma got 21,000 and Fuji got 16,000. Everyone down to 12th place had over 1,000 votes. With some quick addition, it seems like at least 80,000 votes. (Chapter 83)

Naruto got 70,000 votes in its first poll. (Chapter 60)

37,000 for One Piece in its first one (Chapter 60)

Not sure which chapters some other first polls were in, so I can't check any others right now.

Just to add to the above response ^^

Sket Dance got 8176 votes in its recent Poll in chapter 68

Neuro did a criminal/character poll in chapters 65 and 66.
The criminal poll was 15536 and the character poll was 15875, so this leads me to believe that both polls were done on the same card, which would make the total participants the higher number of the 2 (15875).

Ok, I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought those sales numbers were off when first seeing them. XD

Bleach (CP)
Naruto
One Piece
Toriko (Cover)
Reborn!
Beelzebub (CP)
Kuroko no Basuke
Bakuman
Psyren (CP)
Sket Dance
Gintama
Inumaru dashi
Eyeshield 21
Neuro
Kochi Kame
Mago
D.Gray-man
Hoopmen
Bokke-san
ToLove ru
Jaguar

--

EDIT: Just saw that raw-paradise got the same. So it should be the real deal. : )
I like:
Hoopmen basically tanking
Reborn, Kuroko, and Bakuman in the Top 5
Sket @ #6
Beelzebub and Psyren color pages

I dislike:
Bokke below Hoop Men and in the bottom in general
Bleach color
Naruto above One Piece

This ToC has more positive than negative for me this week.

-edit-

I love that Psyren color page. Hmm the number of votes are about where I thought they would be at.

Well it has +10.000 votes which isn't bad at all, knowing psyren was a serie that had a tough time hanging in the danger zone. Might be its fanbase is still growing, knowing its genre has a already big hits like naruto, bleach, d.g-m, reborn, one piece, etc... I am more interested in comparing this result with Iwashiro's last serie's result Mieru Hito. I remember it had one too without a colour page and an instant cut after 1 or 2 weeks

and the colour page is nice :)

It all sort of depends considering that Psyren has just been "hanging around" and the lower expectations with the lowering sales of shonen mags due to "all the other options out there". Maybe it still has room for growth but its all dependant on what's going on lately.

It'd be funnier if the issue of WSJ he was eating was a Bleach Cover.

The preview posted here said it would. Last weeks chapter of Toriko said it wouldn't. It didn't, but still had front color.

I swear, would it be possible for a series that does not sell like over 200,000 volumes to get at least ONE cover? It's like Jump doesn't want the other series to get popular...

That's too bad. Looks like we won't be seeing any new series from those two any time soon...

Yeah, oneshots in Akamaru Jump usually doesn't add up to a new serialization for established manga-ka.
