I'm really(!) looking forward to AKABOSHI...main char kinda looks like L from DN (:blink) but I really like the design from what's given.
Gotta love that tiger-thingy clinging to his shoulder.

Glad I'm not the only one who noticed that...but I am so tired of maschots...and I'm sick of seeing Psyren so low...

No that's not the cover

anyway I think jump is really in a strong year. It has series that are maintaining very good and newer ones seem to become a bigger hit: beelzebub, toriko and kuroko

There was an Eyeshield chapter this week, so I guess that means Murata did both the one-shot and the chapter.

Fucking Hoopmen being closer to the front than Psyren agitates me. Beelzebub got a pretty good spot too. It must really be liked.

I also agree on this being a strong year for Jump. With this many newer titles around and actually being interesting I'm glad that a few older ones are ending soon. Most recently Neuro and eventually Eyeshield. Oh geez do I wish Naruto would speed towards its ending and make some more room. x[

Re: Weekly Shounen Jump [2009] - Discussion & TOC Talk v.2

I'm actually wondering about the potential ends of other established series. I heard a while ago that Gintama's mangaka was going to end the series after 30 volumes. Don't know if this will hold true or not, seeing as he can always change his mind or be influenced to change it *cough*dragonball*cough*, but volume 28 just came out and by the time the next cuts come around it will have enough material for 30 volumes. Maybe someone who's actually caught up to the series will have more insight on the matter. Also, does anyone know how long Jaguar's mangaka plans on making that series? It's been going on since 2000. More power to him if he wants to keep writing it, but not everyone wants to keep writing the same thing forever (e.g. kochikame's mangaka). Those and Eyeshield and To Love are series that I could see ending naturally in 2009. Thoughts?

Well I too have heard that Sorachi plans to end it with 30 volumes.

I know Bomber D Rufi translates the series regularly and would probably know more than anyone about it's prospects for ending. I do know that with series of Gintama's type (Episodic with some average length arcs), that it can be hard sometimes to tell if it's near an ending.

Sorachi has changed his mind since then. I think he was oriignally aiming for 30 but has had more ideas since then, as many mangaka do. He also sort of said "five years"...but that sort of ended up a crazy joke in the exact issue which ended the fifth year of Gintama.

BTW: You know I just remembered that To-Love started on Golden Week so we may get a color page for that real soon.

Right now, unless Sorachi decides that he wants to try something new... I can actually see Gintama becoming the second Kochi Kame :p

As for ToLoveRu's CP... It's been a long drought with no end in sight :( I mean otherwise it usually would have 1~3 CP chapters per tank... but we have not had one since 129... I've originally thought we might have one this issue (for 3-year anni), but it didn't materialize for this or the next issue.

I can only hope for 2009-27 or 28 when the new comers mandatory CPs end.

Yeah, I was expecting Ageha somewhere in the front, of course, with Kuroko.

The fact Ageha's acting with Hino is worrying me, lol :eyeroll
