After reading the first chapter I'm thinking about giving up on this series, it feels to much like a porno with a bad story. Please tell me it gets better.

It does get much better, and that is actually a fairly common first impression. The story is really good but it takes a few chapters before some of the core points of the real story are revealed.

But if you still don't like it by chapter 10 then you probably never will.

I found it over-whelming, seven heroes, wars, half humans or something? It's hard to focus on the story when you have a horse who's trying to rape people.

I actually have heard that said about the first chapter a lot. It sorta starts out with the max level of sex and gore that Ubel Blatt has to offer right at the start and at the same time has the plot start out as a complete mystery. When you actually learn what's going on it gets really good, but the first bit by itself seems to strike people as a little extreme.

The largest wrong impression that that i think the first chapter seems to give is the amount of sexual content in the manga. There really isn't all that much, by seinen standards at least. Certainly not much that is quite as dark as that beginning was, i mean that horse was going a little overboard i think. Proof that the author read "Berserk" i suppose.

Wow, i really wasn't looking to get in a conversation about this but...*Here*. If you managed to convince yourself that isn't what was going on.....i say good for you.

As for the sick interpenetration thing....guilty as charged, doesn't mean it's wrong though.

i think we might see a new "form" after the events of 92? That would be cool - Koin really needs an upgrade now unless the last X heroes are really easy kills and Ikfes is the "strongest" opponent in the story...

And, just a quick tibit, Shiono started as a doujin author, and debuted professionally not only in seinen, but also x-rated magazines. So, like a lot of other authors who walked similar path (Oh! Great being one), it's actually fairly easy to see why there are a lot of sex in the beginning.

he definitely toned down on that stuff...Koin was almost raping that village girl in the beginning as well. Bbut since most of the chars are underdeveloped there's not much to see.

Also, Lavaan is the one-armed, one-eyed, scarred noble.
Kveria is his sister.
Elsaria is the young woman who has been fighting Koinzell for a few volumes, who is rather jealous of Ato.

I was surprised at Glenn's demise. Always thought he would be the big boss.
Lebellond is a bastard, but it would seem only Ishudien and Glenn had actually tried to repent for the murders 20 years ago, so it was to be expected.
