No not Shichibukai level (especially since that's not a real defined level anyway). I think Shanks's crew would best be compared to Whitebeard's crew. I bet they are around the same strength. Shanks's crew might even be stronger. I think Whitebeard isn't that much stronger than Shanks anyway. His crew always gave off that "much stronger than we seem" vibe. I hope we get to see them in action soon. Best we have seen so far is chapter 1

There's no doubts that Whitebeard was stronger than Shanks but now I don't know, both aren't at their prime time although Shanks is younger, IMO Shanks's crew = Whitebeard's Commanders (without the fodder).

lol, anyways WB was struck in the heart... as he explained.. he has only one heart so he cannot par with 3 admirals as someone is disappointed bout. But thinking that the admirals have a hard time killing him and most of the marines focus on WB, ... that is more disappointing, no one can easily kill the old man lol

Maybe the ones that lost to Luffy (Croc and Moria i.e. the weakest Shichibukai) but the more powerful ones like Kuma and Mihawk no way. At best they're at the same level or slightly stronger than WB's top 4 Commanders.

But I would bet that beckam is stronger than Marco... cause he must be to Shanks what Zoro is to Luffy.. and Marco isn't comparable with WB (while not sick and looking like a swiss cheese)

WB being stronger than Marco speaks more about WB's strength than it does Marco's. And Marco isn't "comparable" to WB because he isn't meant to be, I'm positive the gap between Marco and WB is just as big as the one between Beckam and Shanks and that's because if they were at their captains levels they'd be Yonkou themselves. Think of it in terms of Bleach, there is a HUGE difference between the Captains and their Lieutenants which is how those roles are supposed to work. And I think people are seriously underestimating Marco and Jozu, I mean look at every other important fight (with the exception of BB vs Ace but thats because that fight was needed to start this arc) in the beginning the good guy always gets his ass kicked but then when it looks like they're just about to die they find "resolve" or w/e shit to kick it into high gear and kick some ass.

If there are really powerful bounty hunters ... then i bet they are all at the new world since there's a ton of pirates with really high bounties there. Going into the first half of the grand line would be troublesome since they would have to search for the pirates with high bounties. At the new world they probably just have to stay at certain islands and pirates ships will land there and the bounty hunters can then start attacking them.

^ Exactly. Zoro will become the world's greatest swordsman, and is already pretty badass. Brook will be the only other swordsman associated with Luffy in the crew.

On a seperate note, I was wondering about Luffy's recent awakening of Haoshoku. Having seen a lot mentioned in the chapter forums it got me thinking. Will Luffy even need his gears once he fully awakens this ability? Gear Second and Third have proven vital up until now, but considering the detrimental effect they have on Luffy's body, will it be best for him to keep using them? Haki from what we gather enables the fighter to pretty much predict the entire battle, to fight DF users and knock out lots of people.. Or will Luffy's power continue to remain dormant until all else fails?

I agree, the only reason Marco and Jozu are disabled is because they were worried about Whitebeard and got caught off guard.

I think Whitebeard without all those damn injuries could take on Marco and Joz, and Whitebeard at his peak he could easily take them on. NOW in other series Marco's power would be beyond amazing, but here its not. With Bounty Hunters i would love to see an arc where the villian is a Bounty Hunter. I think that from here on there will be more arcs with the Strawhats fighting Government people.

There has been several post on that subject recently and I'm surprised that so many people have not catched how cover pages works. Oda is using the same pattern (straw hat and animals followed by a cover story) since chapter 120 ! Also that is 3 times already than Vivi and Carue end the Straw Hat and animals serie. Why do people expect a cover story in next chapter ?

coversttories tended to show the villains of two 'arcs' ago. since it's basically the same villains since Sabaody now though and the flying fish became the rosy life riders, my guess would be, that for now it's going to be something like Pervsaloms quest to find a bride.

I can imagine a 'rebuilding ID' coverstory or even one about the Tenryuubito too

Hehehe... when in the new world, ID will have a coverstory... I'm with the few that tink that every straw hat will have a mini-real-arc (just because they will not have another chance to enter Florian Triangle, and there was a bigger mistery there... My guess???
Zoro will get lost and will end fighting that thing, cause he was hungry, but in the end is sanji who saves him... hahaha, they defeat that thing and I'm happy)...

So next chapter, Carue or Vivi or Booth will be in the cover story, next, the same, and then, Absalom Story... xD

What the? Terribad predictions for coverstories.

Vivi: She's already been a part of one, we're pretty up to date with what's happened since the viewers left her (nothing much) and there should be nothing for her to do.

Absolam: Since he's still, as far as I'm aware, with Moria, it would be strange to do a coverstory on him, since it would be Moria-less. Thus making the entire potential cast of this story Hogback + Absolam. Do-able, but dull. I never got the impression Oda enjoyed Absolam.

Impel Down/Shabondy/Kuja/etc: I know some still count them as seperate arcs, but if you look at the grand scheme of things, right now we're still in the same arc that started at Shabondy. Doing any sort of cover about anything between the Strawhat's going bye bye and now would be like doing a cover story about Water 7 whilst they were in Enies Lobby.

I do think one day we'll get a ID cover story. Magellan, Hannybell and Sadi-chan were too interesting to waste.

Duval + Rosy Life Riders / Any Supernova / Anything Shabondy: Same arguement as above. Still very relevant to the current story arc.

Here's my actual predictions:

• Giant's from Enies Lobby (forgot their names...Oimo and Kaiishi?) going on the search for Dory and Broggy.
• Lola and the Thriller Bark leftovers discovering the mysteries of Moria's old lair and escaping the Florian Triangle.
• Iceberg + carpenters turning W7 into a floating island.
• Further collection of shots regarding the Strawhat's (maybe one-shots as opposed to the previous two-shots).
