He's obviously Paramecia, otherwise normal attacks wouldn't hit him.

I know the guy is paramecia but what the hell was up with those bullets seemingly going through his body a little over two minutes into the episode?
We know he's not a logia, that much is obvious at this point but they need to stop doing things like that.

nice episode, but isn't this arc too long? 25 episodes and it isn't over yet (only the impel down arc)...if i remember well, in the manga, this arc was not so long

Magellan is a logia. He can turn his body into poison at will (his element). He got hit by Luffys because he seemingly doesn't have complete control over his powers. Same thing happened with Smoker when Luffy charged at him out of nowhere and launched him through some walls. And we know Smoker is a logia.



Awesome episode though ! Luffy Champion was great I also don't understand why Mr.1 was so concerned about the other navy ships. Jimbei can obviously crush as many ships as he wants as long as he is in the ocean

Sorry, my bad, I thought about another scene. Yeah, you're right, they made him look like a logia, what was up with that :X
I checked the manga to make sure, but there isn't any scene like this.
The only thing I can think of, is that he is sort of surrounded by his own poison, which spreads the poison if you hit him and reduces the impact of the bullets. Still, they shouldn't have made this scene^^

I don't think that's true, as you mentioned there was only one scene where a logia was ever hit and that was Smoker, who didn't know what was coming. As far as we know, logia is able to let every attack go through them, if they focus, which is exactly was Magellan was doing, but he still got hit. If you ask me, he seems to be able to control his powers pretty well.

Magellan is a Paramecia, not a Logia. Look it up. It's a really common mistake. He secretes poison from his body and controls it, but he can't turn his body into poison. It's the same as the case with Mr. 3 and Kalifa.

Anyway, I thought this episode was fantastic.

It's cos they have to make sure that they don't catch up
with the manga, thats why they are dragging this arc like hell of long.
Even I have to say that the Impel down arc is one of the best in one piece,
in the manga
but in the anime.
so far till this episode, its crap.
this episode was decent, and I guess magellan can't be hit by bullets cos the poison melts it before reaching.

They really fucked it up with those bullets. If Magellan were using his corroding poison there, I'd be OK with it, but he's not. We see him punched by bazooka, we see him having to block Luffy's wax fist. Bullets? They just pass through.

The rest of it is fine.

Dragged, as usual, but fine. Really, the only thing that you can blame for dragged episodes and fillers is money.

That was awesome. I always wanted to see that particular scene in the anime version and Toei did an alright job with it in the end. I'm glad they've reduced the amount of flashbacks used in the past two episodes. Sadly, the pace of the episodes haven't changed though.

Every week when a new episode comes out - usually on sunday - someone will post a link to it - quite easy, no? For the latest episode you might have to go back one page

There a lot of websites, where you can find streams for One Piece, they aren't very hard to find with google^^
If you want higher quality, try torrents, they are usually updated at sunday / monday.

This arc was pretty quick in the manga, but from reading the end-of-chapter questions there were loads of details and ideas that didn't get included because of editing. It's still awesome if you watch it back as a marathon, particularly Buggy running around.
They can't catch up too quickly, it fits better with the storyline if it takes ages to get out of Impel Down than if the events at Marineford drag on for too long and lose their impact, and there is no place at all where they could fit fillers in in the foreseeable future without fans wanting to strangle them, so they have to do it this way.
