I was greatly disappointed in the Whitebeard allies entrance and Moby Dick's entrance. They made Moby Dick look like some shiny souvenir or some rubber-ducky in a bath tub. I understand the shine is to show that the ship is coated - but what about the other pirate ships? They weren't all shiny. Plus even their entrance didn't seem as interesting as it did in the manga. Their entrance seemed almost like they were even 'less' in importance and power than your usual cannon fodder ship.
I mean, Don Krieg's ship's entrance was FAR better than Moby Dick.

Lol... You know what? They may have used this to find out that the Moby Dick had to jump out of the water.

I've expected something like the emerge of the Flying Dutchmen in PoC - and in my mind it's still worked out like that. But... you know... at least Tate didn't have to do with this ep as it seems so I'm super-happy after all that my prediction was wrong. And I hope I'm wrong with Ch. 556/557 to be animated by Tate.

I don't understand why they didn't use any dramatic music with the entrance thats the only thing the episode lacked IMO

People might have watched the anime first, settled with that and don't read the manga because they don't see the need to go through the same story again in another format (it's a long story after all). Some might not read online Edited Mangas and can't get their hands on any volumes. Some might actually read the manga but reads it in volume form and thus has read as far as they can but isn't up-to-date with Weekly Shonen Jump. You never know the reason for people not reading the manga, but I think the answer is rarely that they're retarded. And throwing in a spoiler like that (the one Kaiser Will removed) just to mess with the anime-only followers reading the thread is just uncool, man (and yes, it is a spoiler to them, be it an adaptation or not).

The other ships weren't coated, though. They just appeared out of the fog. Only Whitebeard's ships were coated and appeared out of the water.

But yeah, I agree with what you're saying. The Moby Dick is probably the biggest ship we've seen in One Piece, captained by the most powerful man in the world. I thought its entrance was gonna be pretty epic for sure, and this is what we got?

The episode was really nice. I liked watching Ace's character get built up like that. Marco looks kinda weird, but super cool at the same time

The only thing I found weird was the "buildup" to Whitebeard. They should have made his appearance like BAM ! but they made it look like he needed chair assistance to get up those stairs.

I don't know what you're talking about : in the Opening, we only see Shanks'face and in the episode, he does not appear.

Probably because Oda didn't mind drawing Shanks completely... In Chapter 552, Shanks is only in two panels - and in both Oda leaves out the part about Shanks having not his left arm.

Oda purposely drew Shanks on that angle because he does not have his left arm intact.

Toei's animators who are responsible for transistioning Oda's work from the manga to the television screen should have known better.

I know that this error sucks and kinda craps the whole ep even though I'm surprised that I kinda like the change of how the artists drew the characters (esp. Tsuru)
