yeah I actually like to see a new opening as well.

to be honest I don't even care about the music that much.
I'm more interested in the images. Though I say depature is
one of the better openings out there.

Most anime opening songs to me...well they suck. Generally speaking I hate J-pop.

Apparently since the artist of the new version of Departure is still listed as the same guy from the first one and not Galneryus it's probably not the english remix. Well so long as it's good it doesn't make a difference to me.

That honestly makes me kinda sad, I know dragonball, Yu Yu hakusho and heck 1999 Hunter kept their first intros for a LONG time, but in modern times I've come to expect totally new songs every 13-26 episodes. I was looking forward to a whole new song by a new artist to fit the changing mood the new series. Oh well, I do like departure and like mrsticky said, I am a bit more interested in getting new visuals then anything else.

Though until I hear this new version, I'm unsure how I feel about the idea of Departure being the opening for the Genei Ryodan arc.

Morning shows (shows mostly aimed at a young audience) tend to have longer lasting openings. One Piece and Toriko air in the morning, same channel as Hunter x Hunter as well I think, and they have long lasting openings. I'd rather have a different song as well as animation, though I really don't mind keeping the same song so long as the animation is different.

I kinda doubt it'd be a remix to departure, theres nothing stopping him from, say, writing a diffrent song...

Toriko and One piece air on Fuji TV. HXH airs on Nippon TV.

The 1999 anime used to run on Fuji TV though.

Oh didn't see the bottom half my bad, but even still, that's kind of a bad idea, I could see it fit for this first half, but a new song more fitting in tone is what's needed now. Departure isn't the kind of song that can go with everything, so I can't see it staying as the series theme.

I;m pretty sure come episode 53 or whatever we'll get an entierly new opening since as already mentioned it's not unusual for a Sunday morning anime to only change openings once a year. Though to be fair we're still not sure if it's a remix or an entierly new song, and even if it is a remix it's possible they'll find a way to make it match the change in tone.

Just have to wait and see.

If the 2nd version is REALLY different maybe it will work. I am just imagining it wont fit say Yorkshin arc.

If it's a good version, it will work. I have seen many different variations before of the same song and it works quite well.

Although I'm with Sticky here, I don't enjoy J-Pop that much.

Yup, it's Masatoshi Ono and his band doing the OP and ED. I've listened to a few of Galneryus's songs, and they sound okay. Not my cup of tea but I can definitely envision them growing on me. I only watch the Openings for anime rarely (dunno why, I know it's weird.) while I tend to watch ED's every week. Personally I'm just excited to see new songs in general.

I'm okay with almost any type of music except for most American....anything, in well...any genre since it's all been terrible since 2003.

If we go by before the recap then they would definitely censor the part.
However the censoring has dropped considerably and they DID show
Gon all beaten up after fighting Hanzo. But will they show THIS level
of brutality? Or anything close to it?
