So kayako and thorn are the same person? :oh

Er....for more serious question, I wanted to ask thorn what his sister's wedding was like! :zomg My sister is getting married, so I'm kind of anxious as what to expect from the boy's side of the family. >_>

Congrats. I only have one sister and no brother, it was very special for me. Before marriage, there was Nikkah in December 2005. Mehndi, Barat and Walima were in April 2005. In nutshell, after Nikkah my brother-in-Law returned to London to get all the papers processed to take her with him later on. So, we had one extra function (Nikkah). Now, what was it like? Being a male, I may not have enjoyed it as females do here. I was busy attending preparations, attending guests and relatives at home. The best is mehndi. More causal and more fun. The night before the mehndi, the house was echoing with sound of Dholki and Thapa songs :).

My brother-in-law and his family are really nice people. They made no demands whatsoever. We did not even feel they were outsiders (outsiders = not for our family). Elder brothers of my brother-in-law are all Mulvi but they were singing the wedding songs and even knew how to play dholki. Sorry, if I am not helpful or failed to answer what you wanted.

Here is my little nephew:

He's a male prostitute.
Well... he did put a certain deal out there, though I can't reveal the details. Still a little bit of time to cash in, Gary! :p :XD

Thorny may be onto something with the codeword thing. "Snacks" = money?

A couple? Wasn't that his first?
Oh yeah, I guess it was, since it was the appetizer. Lightweight. :teehee

...I don't even know what to say to that. After I gave such a great recommendation too :noworry
Hmm?

Re: How cold is a heart when it's warmth that it seeks?

Yeah, but that's a fan mockup....Tyrion won't have a beard yet :derp
:3c anyway, watched the first episode. Not so pleased that they left out the whole prologue stuff etc. but rest was good, I guess they do have to rush things to deliver anything noteworthy from the second book.

Wasn't Davos the one who criticized the burning of the 7 gods? At least I remember him saying that he didn't like it. And Cressen was long dead when that happened... :/ the impact when he died in the book was way better than in the series.

I didn't reveal much there goodsy, just a few changes they made in the first episode compared to the book. You can read it if you want, it's nothing big. What are your thoughts about the first episode?

On another note you really should read the books :yelling

Why did it take snacks to lure him into a woman's bed?
Who said it worked? :imslow

Sure I am. It only took you 1 beer to loosen up and make a certain bold declaration, not the two I was originally giving you credit for. :verily

There was something other than what I said after the Crab dip? :blink

And just because I was being goofy doesn't mean I was hammered after one beer, even if it was strong and I did guzzle it. :blink I often say and do impulsive things for no reason if I'm in a certain mood, despite what you might think.

Re: How cold is a heart when it's warmth that it seeks?

I have a few questions, Gary.

If you could adopt any MH member, who would you adopt?

If you could have any two mangaka meet and become BFFs, who would they be?

Which inactive MH member(s) do you miss most?

Which two manga would be best for a crossover story?

1. Hard to say. I've been around long enough that there are many and I don't know if I could really pick one honestly. All entertaining and good people...some even easy on the eyes :derp...ahem, but that is irrelevant :mono

2. Homonculus and Old Boy :cookiehand ....actually I have no idea really. They both have real-world settings so it could fit

Your niece and nephew are out-of-this-world adorable! :zomg :wtf :zomg

You totally answered my question, and it's definitely been a help for me. I think my concerns are just silly stuff. There will always be awkward moments in wedding planning, and those things always disappear once the marriage happens and it's all over.

Its so nice to here you guys sang wedding songs during dholki get-togethers! :) In our extended family the tradition of singing sings is slowly dying out so its comforting to hear people doing it! My sister loves music, so we'd love to do the same for her. I agree, the mehndi is definitely the best! The wedding can be quite sad because of the rukhsatti. Your sister's wedding sounds like it went off without a hitch, and I hope inshallah my sister's wedding is just as fun! (Also, how awesome is it that even though your brother-in-laws family are a bit Molvi, they still participated with the singing!)

Ok, so since my last question was directed at thorn, the next one is for xi0!

How did you discover MH and what made you stay? :amuse

good choice, I already wanna watch the second ep :nod

and... :bored what's the problem with reading the book. Maybe it's only me because I'm rather impatient but the book delivers so much more than the series :arf

Well, it was a fun and enjoyable dinner overall. :tem

Someone really should've kept track of all the quotes from the meet. I already forget most of them. But that crab dip comment.... that's the kind of thing I will remember forever. :rofl Also, I bet you've already failed. :jk

Oh, there's no problem really, just laziness. :sweat

I'm sure I would agree with you. Books are almost always better than their movie/TV show counterparts. There's usually a lot that needs to be cut out for time or changed... plus, you get to see the author's writing style and the story in the way it was meant to be presented from their imagination.

Ok, so since my last question was directed at thorn, the next one is for xi0!

How did you discover MH and what made you stay? :amuse
Less interesting question :crying

I was on a smaller Fighting Game forum that linked here back in 2005. I lurked for a while and didn't join until 2006. I guess Gold Knight took notice of me not being a complete tard and asked me to moderate Gantz and Berserk (I offered for the latter since it lacked a mod as well). I also had some value at finding raws and spoilers so he modded me in the RTS section (what the database was before the database). I became a Global in 2007 I think? I think I was asked to be an admin in 2008 because I just outlasted anyone else of note :p.

What made me stay? Well enthusiasm for manga/anime and discussing it can come and go. What kept/keeps me here are the people :gar. It's a unique environment, I've made friends and hope to continue doing so. I consider some of them lifelong friends :nod ....oh the intarwebz :derp

Well, it was a fun and enjoyable dinner overall. :tem

Yeah...until I get branded as a lightweight :noworry

We were trying to keep track while we were there. Curry Badger was one...I've got style homedog....the "crab dip" one :teehee...there were some more at dinner. They'll come back to us eventually.

...why would you even bring that up? :oh ...what makes you so confident? :hmph
