So Togashi isn't involved? alright two things:

1. If you're not involved Togashi, and you aren't sick, GET BACK TO THE MANGA ALREADY!!

2. It could still be an enjoyable film, but now its just anyone's convoluted guess about how the massacre went . Like a fanfic with an insanely high budget. Well thats what most shounen movies are, but to take a plot point like this is sorta.... oh well. Fight on madhouse!

I feel like Madhouse has maaaaaad respect for HxH anyway, so I'm sure it will still be an enjoyable movie. Question is, will you guys consider it canon?

That's a bit different from what I got...
This trailer says:
"クラピカの緋の目をめぐり集うゴン達の前に幻影旅団の影が迫る。 劇場版 HUNTER×HUNTER ファントム・ルージュ、来年１月１２日公開。"
So something more like:
"As Kurapika searches for his scarlet eyes, the shadows of the Phantom Troupe, gathered in front of Gon, Killua, and Leorio, draw nearer. Hunter x Hunter the Movie: Phantom Rouge. Coming next year! January 12th!"

...which sounds exactly like Yorknew instead of a new plot for the movie. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Edit:
So this trailer was meant to run after episode 41, which it did on TV (I'm not sure if a normal preview like what's on CR even aired... I didn't see it when watching it on Keyhole). The line above is a perfect preview/synopsis of episode 42, so I'm pretty certain that it has no relation to the plot of the movie.
