That are some strange figures. How come one piece is not even in the male list ?
Medaka box is very high, does it mean it is liked more by older people whose tends to vote less for the TOC ?

The statistics are for people who buy the comics. More women purchased the latest volume of One Piece compared to man. But not by a very large amount.

Medaka Box being that high means that the majority of people buying the comics are male.

In the picture it says Beelzebub vol. 17, not 16.

Awesome! Where did you get this information? Do they do it for every volume? I am actually surprised, I didn't think these numbers in general would be so evenly split, save for Kochikame, Nisekoi, and Medaka Box.

Not surprised Haikyuu!! is up there, it seems the internet is flooding with BL fanart for it. Seeing One Piece...eh, its not that big of a deal. One Piece, Bleach, and Naruto all have extremely equal fanbases among both genders, which makes sense because they are such massive, massive franchises. Though I admit, I thought Naruto and One Piece would have switched places.

Beelzebub having a slightly more male readership makes sense, its like that in the International readership as well.

Fixed Beelzebub >.<

I'm pretty it was published in the Nikkei newspaper ------> http://www.nikkei.com/

They don't seem do to it every volume, just a one off thing. Everyone online seems to be making a really big deal about it so if it had happened before I'm sure something would have came up.

It's strange Nisekoi is that much oriented. It was not that much ecchi for the few I have read ? Has it changed inbetween ?

What I find interesting is where Naruto is.

Actually this whole list creates a surprising contrast with the Jump Rankings. Why is that I wonder?

I mada the same mistake but it's just which percentage of a serie is read by male or female not which series they prefer
For exemple nisekoi is read at 80% by male ( hence 20% by female )

No, it's still the same. Near to no ecchi moments, at least from what I noticed. It's not that surprising though, in the end it still comes down to a boy being surrounded by beautiful women which is definitely something more appealing for boys than girls - Nisekoi is evolving into a kind of harem story anyway (still funny and likeable for me though) so it probably shifted more towards men too.

I would have expected something between the line of 70-75% but in the end it's still just one volume, it's not like you can create a trend for the whole series only by that (but ofc gives you a hint).

Are they making a big deal about it because Shonen Jump does not have a predominantly male readership outside of the magazine itself? I'm kind of curious now why it would be such a big deal. I mean, its pretty obvious to me why certain series have more female fans and others, male fans. Heck, besides Medaka Box, Nisekoi, and Kochikame the percentile margin isn't even that big.

Well 49.3% of males like Bleach apparently since that would make the other missing percentage for males. Talk about an almost even split lol.

I'm really curious what happened in Sket Dance in the last chapters, it's ranking really well lately. Besides that the biggest news probably is Naruto being back in the top 3, looks like it really was just a one time thing. Didn't think that Kurogane would recover like that too - it did pretty bad for a few weeks but it seems like whatever happened pleased the fans. I could imagine it being the first new series in ages that surpasses the 60th chapter mark.

Happy to see Nisekoi, HQ and PSI still doing so well :D

Takamagahara will probably follow Bulge, IIRC the first ranked chapter was rock bottom too and I see no way how it could survive.

Sket Dance is high probably because it is the first chapter of the Switch On arc.

I'm glad that Bleach finally get a better ranks lately, maybe because the plot is finally kicks in, too bad Reborn could not maintain its high rank, though. Also, yay for Sket Dance! well deserved ranking.

Sket Dance is high probably because it is the first chapter of the Switch On arc.
Actually if the -8 weeks rule applied, the ranked chapter is not the highly anticipated Switch On yet. Switch On begins in chapter 241.

Crazy how Reborn went from 2nd place one week, sort of midldle the next week, to second to last this week.

Am glad that Bleach and Kurogane are ranking well. Hope they keep it up especially Bleach its been so good lately (including this week).
