It was a rough hit, but I don't think that Cruz was defenseless.

It wasn't even that rough. You could see Reed pull up because you know the guy is playing tentative out there. Funnily enough that is what results in people also getting hurt - playing tentatively.

Well, Cruz did get hammered, but it wasn't what we we're used to in terms of rough hits. It was fairly tame and if you're going to make poor throws to the side, your receivers are going to pay.

Yeah, the defensive players can get hurt that way.

Any of you get the impression the bigger guys in the NFL (OL/DL players) usually have a speech impediment? Whenever I watch one of them do an interview or come on Sportscenter it's like they're always slurring their words or stuttering just something I picked up on...

Then again, some of them do speak less clearly because of all the head shots that they've taken.

Clean hit, should not have been a flag, let alone a fine. Reed led with his shoulder, did not "torpedo" himself, and did not come close to hitting Cruz's head. Awful call, the fine only compounds the mistake. The biggest problem with the new rules are that the ref's don't know how to call them yet, and the league fines even if the film exonerates the defensive player.

You sure it isn't just your anti-Giants biased clouding things?

I can see why a flag was thrown. With these new rules that neuter defensive players, I've seen even less than that flagged. Silliness.

YEP! He can't go a few seconds without messing up his speech, but I like him as an NFL analyst. Also, there's another person as well...African American..I forgot his name

That recent tidbit about missing a block intentionally to injure Scott Mitchell is mighty fucked up though. He's always sounded a bit goofy, and seems likable. I don't know if he ever says anything really worthwhile though.

Shannon Sharpe maybe? He doesn't sound stupid, he just has a goofy way of speaking that I've always found funny. It's weird, because his brother Sterling speaks just fine. I'm not sure if it's some sort of speech impediment or not, but impersonating him among friends is always fun.

Both. Andy Reid's been living off making it to that one Super Bowl that he lost to the Patriots for the better part of a decade.

As a Pats fan, I'm quite happy to see that the Giants failed to make the playoffs, and because the Colts (thank you, Andrew Luck) managed to beat the Texans, assuming we can beat the Dolphins, a first round bye is ours.

Andy Reid isn't going to be replaced by anyone better than him. I really feel that way. His problem is bringing in all these big names the last few years instead of focusing on the draft.

Rex Ryan is like his father - Good coordinator, not head coach material.

Yeah it is. Name a big money free-agent acquisition that has worked out in recent history? Peyton Manning this year? But the guy is the best to ever play the position. Landing the big name in Free Agency means nothing unless it's a proven QB.
