Didn't know that happened. Jose must be secretly pleased about the current goalkeeping situation now. :lmao

Hazard deserved to be sent off for attacking the ball boy, but realistically, there should never have been a ball boy like that. Hazard deserves a short ban for losing his head instead of going to the ref.
Things like this shouldn't happen though, yet they are red cards without a doubt...

Stupid Bastía

Hazard totally deserves to be some matches out... but I agree with you, the kid should be banned for ever (and Swansea probably should be fined-although that won't happen-, that completely changed the match).

Congrats Bradford, even if you beat us, I hope you win in the finals.

Let's not forget that the kid tweeted beforehand that he was going to cause trouble as a ball boy and he's the son of a couple who own 22.5% of Swansea FC, which actually even makes it worse.

Ok...it all makes sense now. Why would a club place a douchebag of a ball boy like him in such a "position" (if you want to call it one). Morons. :fail

Well makes the parents look like a bunch of idiots too now. lmao

OMG! I would've loved to see that! :rofl But yeah the kid was a jerk. He shouldn't of done that in the first place and Hazard trying to wrestle the ball out of his arms isn't worthy of a severe punishment. I guess the kick (no matter how weak/fragile or strong it was) would always be deemed unacceptable. Funny ish however you look at it. xP

15million for Zaha.....really!? :neutral

We need at least one fricking solid defensive midfielder! :arf
Don't you guys dare try to go after Vidal :cussin

Yay another striker you don't need!!! :XD Well, it is your beloved SAF, he's a master tactician, remember? :derp

Iker Casillas has a broken arm and is out indefinitely. I guess Adan will be starting then. :derp
Apparently Cesar is going to be is replacement, and Casillas wants to leave Madrid at the end of his contract. I must say.....Murinho is doing a fine job dismantling Madrid :lmao

If those two incidents required red cards according to the rules, then they need new rules. Similar incidents have occurred here in other sports. With someone running out into the field of play, you can't always assume it's just some drunken asshole trying to get on camera so he can brag to his friends. If you're on the pitch and you shouldn't be there, then you should be considered a threat. If that isn't the case, what's the point of having security in the first place? It's up to the individual player if they want to do anything or not though. But I don't think they should be penalized at all for incidents like that.

If they're on the pitch they are a "threat" to what exactly? Football isn't war.

They are footballers, not stewards. They shouldn't be attacking pitch invaders, its not their job nor is it their role, they are told specifically to leave that to security. If they are attacked they are allowed to use necessary force otherwise they are told to stay out of it. It's for their own safety. Anyway in both instances the player went out of his way to assault the pitch invader, hence the red card. If they just held onto the person until the stewards got there, the ref wouldnt have brought out any cards, but they didnt and unnecessarily assaulted them.

How are they supposed to know what intentions they have? Who's to say they aren't homicidal nutjobs?

I never meant to imply that they were stewards, but in a lot of cases they have more capability to end the situation then middle-aged security guards. And if they choose to, they shouldn't be penalized for it, within reason.

I understand what you're saying, but to maybe amend my point - the first video all he does is trip the idiot, I guess the goalie running the guy down from behind in the other video is a lot more severe and unnecessary. A guy sticking his leg out to stop a meandering idiot isn't punishable in my eyes. There's no real difference between that and grabbing a hold of him, which could be equally, if not more dangerous.

I guess an analogy I'd use is when someone trespasses onto your property or your home, you're supposed to just wait until the police show up? Not really.

Imp, Hart didn't get punished when he held off the crazy City fan who was attempting to attack a United player.

Americans, and that includes Gary and I, have no problem with athletes dealing with pitch invaders. There was this baseball one the other year where the security guards couldn't catch the pitch invader so one of the players clothes lined the pitch invader.

In that case Gary you are not really against the rule but the referees interpretation of it. Violent conduct on the field of play is a straight red card, what constitutes that is upto the referee at the time of course.

Well yes, neither did that dutch player a couple of years ago that kicked the drunk pitch invader that attacked him (he was actually red carded but later rescinded). Footballers do not have some god given rights, if I run into any work place that has its own security and one of the workers instead uses force like that, it is assault. The same thing occurs within football. The referees are naturally given a lot of discretion and their judgements of the incident is what causes a red card or not but regardless once the referee decides that they are guilty of violent conduct on the field of play, than its a red card. What constitutes that at the time is upto the referee but in both those cases in my opinion they were right. It was use of unnecessary force and that constitutes violent conduct.

The rule is vague, but its vague for a reason. It has to apply to a myriad of situations and not only in one country or under one rule of law. It doesnt matter what continent or what country the game is happening, that rule must be applicable, it has to be universal. If the referee believes the person is behaving in a violent manner than its a straight red. I dont see any reason to really change it, it works quite well.

Well, I don't see such a rule as having any major detriment to the game. It doesn't happen often. I just remember old NFL Films of Baltimore Colts Linebacker Mike Curtis tackling a fan on field and it doesn't honestly bother me all that much.

I guess it has something to do with the nature of the individual sports, then again it has happened in baseball so I don't know.

Claims Juventus and AC Milan both are in talks with Manchester City, to sign Balotelli. Well well well...guess Mancini's backtracking from giving the striker "100 chances".

You scared me for a sec there goldy, since Juve absolutely doesn't need Balotelli right now and in general it wouldn't make sense to sign him. Fortunately, Sky spots have since backtracked on their claim and now it's only Milan after him and most likely will get him =)

Thoughts? Apparently back in an March, an English player roughed up a ball boy pretty heavily and only received a yellow card. Hazard toes the ball away from the ball boy and yet receives a straight red, plus the FA wants to give him some extraordinary punishment.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/article-2269299/Eden-Hazard-ball-boy-kick-charge-shows-FA-hypocrites--Martin-Samuel.html

On other news, I still don't see how getting involved with a ball boy is worse when a flying kick into someone's stomach is only a yellow.

Juve signing Llorente on a free!? :o

Man the Old Lady is making her return to the main stage of European football. I reckon next season they'll be real contenders for the CL. Oh and I'm so late but I can't FRICKING believe Lavezzi is playing in Ligue 1 now. WTF! :fail Waste of a talent right there....playing in a crappy league and all. =.=

Bugzee, what about Ibra? If PSG are willing to pay the cash and the players want the wages...

Yeah I know. I never liked Ibra tbh. Talented but an idiot. =/

I really wanted to see Lavezzi eventually play for Juve. I felt that he would be perfect for the team but oh well. <-<

So I watched the QPR Vs City. Julio Cesar single handedly saved QPR. Taarabt played really well but he's a messy passer and makes too many silly mistakes but given the state of the team; he is without a doubt their best all around player. Remy is good but it's still early days. I'm hoping they beat Norwich on the weekend. That's a game that will decide whether they go up or down imho.

Screw Balotelli, Brek Shea moving to Stoke City? :nuts

In all seriousness, it always interests me when players from here move on to better European Leagues. Should be interesting to see what comes of it.

Sooo...looks like maybe Man City is eyeing David Villa to replace Balotelli?

Beckham working out with Arsenal? :hmm

He does that every year, there's nothing strange with that :3

No one cares about it, but we signed Iturbe for half / a whole year (some people call him the ¨Guaraní Messi¨, I don't :XD )
