I'm thinking that Rebecca might eat it and join the Strawhat, or whoever eats it will definitely join the strawhat (except if it's an enemy).
But, it would indeed be weird, because the "fire" theme is part of Sanji's character.

If we have a true Fire Logia character on the ship, it's going the much much less impressive when Sanji will do his "Diable Jambe" type of attack.

IMO, the best scenario is still Sanji eating it.

But, we cannot put aside that he's the best swimmer and that is dream is to find All-Blue...

I don't agree with Sanji eating the fruit, but I like the idea of an enemy getting the fruit and taking it from Luffy. Perhaps it'll end with Jesus taking the fruit.

Main problem I have with Sanji, he's the Swimmer, then again that would become irrelevant once Jinbei returns, yet again on the other hand he doesn't really need fire anywhere part for his leg which he already has.

Of course he gets Logia abilities, but then what?
He's all about kicking.
We saw what it can do, Fire is versatile, I just don't see what Sanji does with it as he has just that one style which IMO somehow doesn't fit to the full potential of fire or the fruit.

It's just gonna be fire kicks and as said, he doesn't need the Mera Mera for it cause he already has such power.

What would be interesting is that he wouldn't use the Fire ability in a different way from Ace.
Ace was using his fists, but Sanji would be using his Legs.

I don't want Sanji or Zoro to eat mera mera no mi, that'd be stupid. I don't think SUnny can do devil fruit otherwise it'd sink, no? Other than Luffy, I don't see or want anyone else to get mera mera no mi, and for reasons, I don't want Luffy to eat it.

That the Marine orders Reinforcements for the Collusseum fights may get Corby the chance to show up.
And since he wants to be an Admiral someday, i believe that he has a very high chance to get the Mera Mera no Mi. And thats great, because i think that Luffy has no Problem with that. So why not? ^^

Good point!
If Coby does come as a backup and meets Luffy, he might just give him the DF, since he does consider him a worthy friend.

I wouldn't bet on it, but it's a possibility.

What would be interesting is that he wouldn't use the Fire ability in a different way from Ace.
Ace was using his fists, but Sanji would be using his Legs.

Ace used his body in general, turning his body into flames etc.

Having Sanji limiting himself to Kicks-Only when he has such a great fruit as the Fire fruit would just have Sanji being a sucky user in comparison to Ace.
Ace was firing flame bullets and the lot in the instances we saw him.
He was creating a massive sphere which of course requires hands to be used.

Sanji only uses his legs. I'm sorry but I seriously don't want Sanji and Zoro for similar reasons to have this fruit.

I agree with others on here that I don't want to see it used again so soon.

Not saying I would mind Sanji getting it just I don't see it and IMO is just a way to throw us off I mean even Zoro has been brought into attention with Fire and apparently Usopp as well, some would also say Kinemon.

"A Nakama might get it?Zoro?Sanji?Usopp?!"
/New Person gets it and joins.

Bringing the attention to the ones already present to surprise us with someone else is what I just find more likely.

exactly my thoughts on sanji, it would be a bit of a problem if they had only ussopp and zoro, and nami on the ship to depend on for swimming
now if JIMBEI joined the crew at somepoint, they wouldnt really need sanji for underwater tasks

based on everyone's discussion that leaves someone that will already sink to take the fruit leaving only luffy to take it and possibly the only other person to take it would be franky possibly rebecca but unlikely.
however if people do not like the idea of luffy taking it there is one idea open to discussion and some fun:
it is a possible foreshadow of a new character coming to the gang a character that is weak even so i would like him to be actually skinny and frail but might have a "fire" personality and so luffy will give it to the new character to have
that or he eats it himself pick one of these two

Not farfetched because the arc has mysterious characters that steal objects; and the fruit is a precious and special object.

Sorry I refuse to choose because you aren't the author of this series. Besides, fire logica isn't as important as it used to be since most pirates in NW know how to use haki defending themselves against logica. Relying on the power of logica only brings one closer to the graveyard as Pekoms told Caribou on FI.

By the way, those 3 logica admirals only scare pirates in GL, they can't control anyone in NW. WB fought Ace because he wanted to play with Ace, it didn't mean Marco couldn't do anything hence WB was forced to fight. I'm really not sure whether Ace was as strong as Marco but it's a useless argument now that Ace died.

Uh, technically, New World is the second half of the Grand Line. The other half is called Paradise.

GL is much shorter, my only hope is that Oda won't pull any hax power related to mera mera, thanks to old Yamamoto's bankai in Bleach a lot of people want Luffy to have something similar to those East, West and North hax abilities.

As long as Luffy & Zoro aren't the ones who have the df then I'm fine with whatever outcomes like BB has the df in the future or the df is taken by CP0, Fujitora, Koby or any new characters.
