You forget Marco df which is the legendary phoenix zoan that has the power to heal.

You can also look at this way WB > BB > Luffy. Either Sengoku or Garp > Luffy and I doubt Luffy with mera mera can fight Hawkeye equally either. I'm very sure Hawkeye can KO Hody with only 1 strike but Luffy seemed like losing half of his life fighting a weakling (compared to NW high standard). Now that think about it, even Law can cut up Hody into pieces.

I think by turning his body into fire element, then the bleeding is stopped, no?

That would be the same logic as healing yourself by turning into your element after getting hit or stabbed with Haki, so no, it does not work. The only guy who can do that is Marco who does not turn into an element though, his body is only covered by blue flames that are not hot.

to people who think Coby will eat the fruit :

I understand the logic behind it (to fit the admiral theme), I also know that Luffy have high respect for Coby and wouldn't if it really happen but :

Luffy wants someone worthy to eat it, probably worthy of Ace because it's his legacy and Ace
now Ace was a pirate, he became one because just like his brother he tought that was the best way of living your life, to be totally free
so maybe Luffy will want to find someone who share this ideal (a pirate (so not Coby)) no ?

or yeah he could give it to him to be sure Ace will be remembered as the only great pirate on fire and live on in history, I don't know...

(I also think fire element is not suited to Coby, don't know why, to me fire equals hot headed person, Coby doesn't seem like plus it would be similar to Akainu's magma and Coby is his opposite)

my personnal thought goes to Rebecca IF she really is a sort of red sonja (known as the She-Devil, devil comes with fire right ?)
giving a logia to a weapon user seems like a waste but I bet she can shape her weapons with (sword, bow, net, heavy spiky stuff)
(by the way just looked for red sonja, she herself is inspired by red Sonya who has a"sister who is the favored consort of the Sultan, and Sonya has a fierce vendetta against him" Sultan= King = Dofla )

On one way it's a little bit to obvious for it to be sanji due he's already alwas on fire, but who knows.
Just sit back and enjoy how Oda is going to mindfuck and plot twist us during this arc, anyway it looks like where gonna get some epic fighting and probably everything will fall into place.

I'm thinking that Rebecca might eat it and join the Strawhat, or whoever eats it will definitely join the strawhat (except if it's an enemy).
But, it would indeed be weird, because the "fire" theme is part of Sanji's character.

If we have a true Fire Logia character on the ship, it's going the much much less impressive when Sanji will do his "Diable Jambe" type of attack.

IMO, the best scenario is still Sanji eating it.

But, we cannot put aside that he's the best swimmer and that is dream is to find All-Blue...

I was watching film z earlier and there was this one scene where luffy is in z's hand when z says "you won't be able to become pirate king with that power" they were also surrounded by fire. So maybe that's alittle hint?

so im new on this section of the thread i usually post on fairy tail

but i see three candidats

1) luffy himself--> he needs a logia power to take on the next level of admirals and powers unless his haki is like the pirate king so he does have potential
2) sanji--> this would be interesting both ace and sanji had similar personality as both are goodlooking and bad ass characters
3) zoro: he wants to be a swordsman powerful on his own merit not on powers so NO
4) the new girl rebecca: could be no reason not to
5) Usuopp: usopp and luffy share a sibling relationship so he could do with inheriting ace's will and he is more braver then before and he seems like a person that is liable for the power
my thinking is luffy, sanji and usopp

I'm kinda 50-50 on Rebecca getting the Mera Mera.

On one hand,it would the pen ultimate counter to Baby 5s weapon creation (Gladiators were proficient with countless of Weaponry), in a sense:
Weapon Creation per Fire to match Baby 5.

The other 50 are just hunch and related to the Sunny (Like it having a Weapon storage) and too much related with Nakama discussion than getting the Mera Mera.

Nah, it's just that I am suspicious that Oda mentioned the Weapons Storage (A large one at that) when drawing the Sunny despite the few weapons on board and in combination with Entry to the Soldier Deck resembling an Arbelas a Gladiator weapon.

i would have no problem with this, it would be awesome to see sanji become more deadly, however as it sits, there are only a few of the straw hat members who can participate in underwater combat, or could jump in to save luffy if he does something stupid

so sanji eating the mera mera , is a bit of a double edged sword, although a very lopsided set of pros and cons

eating the fruit is much more beneficial than not eating it for sanji or zoro

Main problem I have with Sanji, he's the Swimmer, then again that would become irrelevant once Jinbei returns, yet again on the other hand he doesn't really need fire anywhere part for his leg which he already has.

Of course he gets Logia abilities, but then what?
He's all about kicking.
We saw what it can do, Fire is versatile, I just don't see what Sanji does with it as he has just that one style which IMO somehow doesn't fit to the full potential of fire or the fruit.

It's just gonna be fire kicks and as said, he doesn't need the Mera Mera for it cause he already has such power.

Not saying I would mind Sanji getting it just I don't see it and IMO is just a way to throw us off I mean even Zoro has been brought into attention with Fire and apparently Usopp as well, some would also say Kinemon.
Seems like a perfect way for:
"A Nakama might get it?Zoro?Sanji?Usopp?!"
/New Person gets it and joins.

Bringing the attention to the ones already present to surprise us with someone else is what I just find more likely.
