Spoiler: man of steel

I get the impression there is a huge plot hole in man of steel. How exactly was clark ever supposed to use the little key with jor-el's copy within it? He did reach the ancient ship but wasn't that a huge accident? I mean, clark just happened to overhear a military dude talking about something in the artic and went there without really having much reason to think it had anything to do with him. Had he gone drinking elsewhere he would have never found the spaceship at all (as far as I can tell). So what is the deal here?

Man of Steel

-I personally thought this was a genius of a film and that it was more than just an origin story. From my impression of the movie, based on the story and central role of the character, everything that takes place and happens made complete sense. For starters, this wasn't a "Superman" movie, which is why, I think most people didn't like it, but the truth is, this was a "Clark Kent" movie. This was generally about Clark Kent learning about his alien heritage and at the same time, finding his place on Earth as a Kryptonian and serving a purpose to the world.

-The villain, General Zod, served an important role, especially at the very end, in how Clark Kent must truly perpetuate the symbol of hope that resides on his body as well as what it truly means to the world as a whole. And, giving us a mini-story about Krypton was cool, something that was barely done in the original movies including "Superman Returns", but this time, we got a little more and I appreciated that.

-Finally, I'll say this, "Man of Steel" was truly the "Clark Kent / Kal-El" story, where he progresses into "Superman", so if you were displeased with the film, you'll finally get what you want with the upcoming sequel. If you like these kinds of movies, don't judge it on reviews, give yourself a chance to decide and see it. I gonna see it again, but I'm still not sure about "The Wolverine".


p.s., Even if I don't see "The Wolverine", hell, he'll be in "X-Men: Days of Future Past", so who cares.

It's funny how many mixed reactions there are towards MOS I didn't think there would be so much negativity I feel that if the film wasn't the way it was I probably would never see another Superman film again to each his own I guess.

Saw Man of Steel and wow! I did not like it.

Pros
Visual effects were pretty damn cool
I liked the sort of spin they put on "Krytonite"
That man is gorgeous
The theme song is very pretty and moving

Cons
Some of the acting was very unconvincing and in some patches just terrible
Villains were boring
The kiss scene was just flat-out lame
PREDICTABLE MUCH?
I literally rolled my eyes at the annoying amount of explosions and mass destruction going on...did Michael Bay direct this movie?
Many of the explanations were half ass or poorly developed


I don't think I'll be seeing that again when it comes out on DVD.

There is something that seemed weird in the MOS movie though. Remember the outposts which zod visited and he only found dead kryptonians? Why were they dead? I get that krypton was destroyed and all but this was a race millions of years ahead of us which had already triumph over measly things like nature and environment so why did they die? I am thinking that they were for whatever reason hunted down and killed by someone who did not like kryptonians. Perhaps this will be the plot of a future sequel? I hope now that the origin story is done with they make a better sequel. It would be interesting to see a sequel where clark does get to do some reporting and eventually runs into the plot through it.

I still can't get over the fact that there wasn't an actual fortress of solitude Just a 20000 year old ship which clark was stupidly lucky to run into...

That new MJ is certainly a better pick than Kirsten Dunst. But I'm not really sure if there's a woman alive, with the acting chops mind you, that could be 10/10 for that role. Actually, Emma Stone could have done it I guess, but Gwenn came first.

I'm a biased spider man fan actually. Anyway what I'm trying to say is since Green Goblin to Spidey is like the Joker to Dark Knight, it would be great
if one film is given to him. Uh no, it wouldn't really be copycats but GG's persona is kindda like Joker's. The original spider man didn't really
adapted it the right way as in the comic books. I want him to be insane and have a huge presence.

As for the new MJ, I am not fully convinced. She is very cute however at least in that picture she is not a perfect 10 so to speak. MJ is supposed to be on a bad day jaw dropping beautiful. Honestly, she is not even prettier than emma stone (which makes peter changing from gwen to MJ significantly more of a tradedown from what it would have been had MJ been as flabergastingly beautiful as she is supposed to be considering gwen herself is very beautiful AND has an IQ matching if not surpassing either set of boobs).

That said, according to wikipedia her scenes were cut from the movie so it seems like she won't be the canonical MJ in this particular set of spidey movies. MJ should appear after gwen dies IMO.

I guess.... but it still seems too lazy overall. how could they just overlook such details so far? You'd think 80% of the movie's plot holes could be easily fixed by merely adding a sentence or two. Seriously, what can this superman even do for humanity? Well, he can certainly fight but ultimately he is a morally uptight demigod with the same knowledge we all have. Superman is supposed to be an inspiration, he is supposed to guide humanity to a better future and being better. What can a dude who spent most of his adult years as a hobo looking for answers guide humans to? Is humanity such a joke in this nolan verse that a hobo can change things for the better? Superman traditionally has the knowledge of entire galaxies and civilizations which would actually be useful in guiding humanity anywhere. The most impressive skill superman has in this movie is to fake his identity considering he managed to infiltrate a military base under one. Perhaps the point the movie tried to make was that the US government is exceptionally and perhaps painfully inept considering louis tracked him down while the government did not. Or perhaps they wanted to make the point that the government left a missing employee to die in the snow?

What spin are you talking about? and the action was done just right in my opinion I refuse to believe superman can fight other kryptonians without such destruction.
