I recently found out that for some of my friends, now ex-friends, a relation is defined by the gifts one brings over, when visiting. Umm, yeah...I had the same reaction as you're probably having right now!

I confess that although I'm a bubbly person, I have a hard time getting close to people. Situations, like the one described above, makes it even harder. Disappointment to its finest!

To say a relationship is 'defined' by the gifs one brings over... is somewhat... extreme. Although I'm not familiar with the current dating or customs in your area. I'll have to assume its become somewhat of the custom there.

Is that why they're ex-friends? Probably along with other issues /differences, right.

You're more in the middle line between bubbly and a goof. Perhaps dorky is the better word here.
Having gotten to know you, I must say, you're easily like-able and like-wise to be able to get along with.

As for having a hard time getting close to people, I think it stems from some personal issues, maybe even some personality issues, along with personal issues from past experiences and not wanting attachment - per-se, with those people.

I put in some random subtitles that make no sense and let the rest laugh at them.

They were never your friends to begin with, then. IMO good riddance if that's all it takes to break up a friendship.

I confess we're the same here. Considering past experiences with people, I think that everyone, especially good friends, are expendable and can be replaced.

I also confess I place loyalty extremely high. I'm very loyal to friends and will be there for them, but if they aren't that loyal, then I stop wasting my time.
