In the world of Tenipuri where cutting a ball in half is a legal technique...

In the words of Judge Mills Lane... "I'll allow it"

That is true, I suppose. They continued playing after Samurai Drive.

I find this one pretty hard to swallow, though, Sai, as at least with Samurai Drive they were in the middle of a point. Two rackets is just illegal. Then again, in ping pong movies, we often see a guy pull out two paddles.

I guess they do allow him to play with two racquets. I don't know about the PoT universe, but in real life that would be illegal in both doubles and singles.

Just some excerpts from various areas of the databook that I read today (most of it Q+A):
- Yukimura is indeed still partially sick. He's mostly well, but still has a little bit to go until 100% recovery.
- Tanishi did indeed get slim while at the secret camp, but upon returning ate himself back into being fat
- There are other High Schoolers in the camp that are OBs from the main Middle Schools we already know, but none were mentioned by name
- The other high schoolers have indeed played in the Nationals in previous years
- Tohno's dropped No. 8 badge is still his for the time being
- Kabaji has indeed left the camp, but he doesn't regret it.
- Momoshiro has earned Kintarou's respect with his ability to read the wind to determine the weather.

...that's new :oh

Are there any news about Tohno? Is he coming back to destroy his partner's face?

- Momoshiro has earned Kintarou's respect with his ability to read the wind to determine the weather.
Cool, apparently he didn't lose his weatherman powers.

Ohmagari really is a beast then. So #6 is the player who stomp National! Sanada and Akutsu pretty hard already. To be honest, the version of Sanada he stomp is probably stronger than his national self due to the mountain training.

- Tanishi did indeed get slim while at the secret camp, but upon returning ate himself back into being fat
It's not that surprising to me. Fat people have low metabolism after all. He got thin, and eat so much to fit his metabolism level, and so become fat again. Only few fat people who get thin can stay thin.

- Tohno's dropped No. 8 badge is still his for the time being
This should shut any people up about saying Marui is #8.

Seriously, that never make any sense to me that anyone would think of it that way.

From just a quick glimpse of his profile, I believe Tohno is in the medical office. Tohno's old injury that Marui hit was the result of overusing his execution methods. You'll find out more when I get to his profile.

He has the retarded eye-patch though. I'm waiting for him to take it off before I call this his true strength lol.

My queries were answered all the way from Europe. Thank you Konomi.
And thank you to the Japanese fans who finally asked good questions.

I always wanted to know why the hell Fuwa didn't know Yukimura. The freshman who won the Nationals in Fuwa's Senior MS year.

And I just knew there had to be other OB's.
All these schools with good reputations, had to have had their reputations upheld by players a few years above the current MSers.
Makinofuji were finalists last year, Shishigaku were Semifinalists last year, there has to be relevant players from those sides.

Shame he's not intrudoced anyone though.

At the very leastthere have been subtle unconfirmed hints along the way. Like Washio and Suzuki both seem to know Tachibana and Chitose. Also, Fuwa may not have actually played Rikkai if he was inthe nationals and even back then its not necessarily true that Yukimura was such a Godly player.

I think of it like Ryoma. Not every school knew the name Ryoma, but they all seemed to know that Seigaku had a super rookie.

Agreed on the first part, its implied Washio/Suzuki are from Kyushuu like Tachibana and Chitose. Or rather that's the accent they had apparently given I think?

But on the second part, sure before the Nationals, people didn't know Ryoma by face. But after the Nationals, all the teams recognized Ryoma upon arrival after his epic entrance to the U-17 Camp.
This is because Ryoma was a rookie who won the nationals.
Yukimura was a rookie who won the Nationals, so I was expecting Fuwa to say "So is that little bastard Sanada here too?" or maybe he'd ask for Yanagi on top of that.
I dunno, I'm asking for too much maybe but I did expect Fuwa to know the face of someone who won the Nationals tournament that he lost in.

Btw Sai, do we ever get to find out what current school's Mitsuya, Fuwa, Taira, Tokugawa are at?
Same for Hara.
Since I don't know if Shitenhouji has a HS division.

Actually, one of the PairPuri Volumes confirmed that both Suzuki and Washio went to Shishigaku during middle school. I don't remember which one, but Chitose says that his upperclassmen from Shishigaku treated him to horse sashimi sometime before the other half of the middle schoolers returned to the main camp.

I'm guessing that it's because it's been two to three years for Fuwa and the other 3rd year high schoolers since their last middle school tournament. There's also the fact that he and the rest of the 1st Stringers have to care more about playing against international players rather than worrying about players that are several years their junior.

Fuwa's haughty attitude towards those he considers his junior would probably indicate he wouldn't acknowledge Yukimura's presence even if he had heard of Yukimura's accomplishments freshman year (obviously Fuwa believed he could defeat Yukimura)

I haven't really kept up with this manga lately so excuse me if I'm bringing up outdated info.

Shishigaku is the middle school in which Tachibana and Chitose was in before moving to Fudomine and Shitenhoji.

Here is Fuwa's profile.

Fuwa Tetsuhito
The Former 1st String No. 11 Player. He used his technique "Kyouzou" to bounce back his opponents' techniques and abilities and climb his way up into the first string.

Supplemental Info:
- His hairstyle was reccommended to him by the beautician and this is his first time having it.

Height: 178cm
Weight: 73kg
Handedness: Left
Eyesight (Unaided): Right: 1.5 Left: 1.5
Special Technique: Kyouzou (Mirror Image)
Playstyle: Aggressive Baseliner
Shoes: Prince Aerofit Game IX AC
Racket: Prince EXO3 Black 104T

School Year: High School 2nd Year
Birthday: 2/8 (Aquarius)
Blood Type: Type A
Hobbies: Cooking
Family Members: Grandfather - Father - Mother - Little Brother
Committee: Public Morals Committee
Favorite Color: Crimson Color
Favorite Food: Pork Miso Soup
Thing he wants most: Hairspray
Thing you're bad at: Thunder
Specialty outside of tennis: Ethnic Cooking

Stats:

Speed - 5: His five senses far surpass normal levels. His Reflexes are great. His reaction speeds are something to be amazed with.

Power - 3: His action on the ball isn't all that great. He relies too much on his senses in his play. It is planned to increase his muscle training twofold.

Stamina - 4: He has the stamina to easily last 1 or 2 matches, but if the match develops that too far where he is on even footing with his opponent, he needs to be particularly wary.

Mental - 6: If he views you as a lower rank, he'll place a handicap on himself. As such, he generally overestimates his own abilities. However, should he get to be at a disadvatange, he is able to correspond appropriately.

Technique - 5: He's able to play without the aid of his eyesight. As such, he certainly has been endowed with quite the high level skill.

Kurobe Memo:
He went into the match against Yukimura too overconfident and therefore had the carpet pulled form underneath him. He completely misread his opponent's abilities. However, since his "Kyouzou" ability is defintiely worthy of special mention, I hope that he retrains himself and shows the pride of the first string be bouncing back.

----

The next profiles I'll be working on are Tokugawa, Oni and Irie.

---------- Post added at 07:35 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:34 PM ----------

I'm not entirely sure why they consider Fuwa's mental so high...I don't think he has shown enough to warrant a 6 Mental.....

---------- Post added at 07:39 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:35 PM ----------

I figure since there will be some question regarding how Kyouzou didn't effect Yukimura I'd add some excerpts from his profile:

- Yips is listed has his special technique however it also has in parentheses next to it (Not really a technique)
- The is a shot of him from the dream sequence in his profile and the excerpt from that says: "The Tennis of the Demigod evolves further and further. Opponents enter into their dreams."

---------- Post added at 09:09 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:39 PM ----------

In an effort to put off working out a bit longer, you get two profiles tonight.

Here is Tokugawa Kazuya's profile:

Tokugawa Kazuya
1 year ago, He was beaten by Byoudouin and has had to crawl his way back up from the Loser. Even though he's quite taciturn, he unexpectedly is quite caring of his sempai.

Supplemental Info:
- Since he has always wanted a little brother, he has taken a liking to Ryoma. Recently, however, it seems like he has lost his favorite Ryoma over to Ryoga. As a result a burning sense of rivalry with Ryoga has developed.

Height: 189cm
Weight: 79kg
Handedness: Left
Eyesight (Unaided): Right: 1.2 Left: 1.2
Special Technique: 10 Ball Strike
Playstyle: All Rounder
Shoes: Prince Prohold Tour IV CG DPSZC4
Racket: Bridgestone X-Blade Force 3.15 Mid Plus

School Year: High School 2nd Year
Birthday: 7/27 (Leo)
Blood Type: Type AB
Hobbies: Snowboarding - Yachting
Family Members: Grandfather - Grandmother - Father - Mother - Older Sister
Committee: Student Council President
Favorite Color: Ultramarine
Favorite Food: Traditional Japanese Food (Especially Natto) - Protein
Thing he wants most: A new board
Thing you're bad at: Carbonated Drinks
Specialty outside of tennis: Waking up Early - Fingerstand while upside down

Stats:

Speed - 4.5: He has a high level of kinetic vision and as such, has a fast reaction speed to the ball. From now on, he needs further leg strength training.

Power - 4.5: If he would have one part to develop, it would be his leg strength. If he would like to be able to use even higher level techniques, he requires strengthening of his griping power.

Stamina - 4.5: Compared to last year, his stamina has increased considerably. In addition to the normal camp training menu, every morning and evening he diligently does endurance training in his own free time. All that's left is learning to implement better pacing into his training.

Mental - 4.5: He has a strong force of will. However, after suffering a humiliating defeat from Byoudouin, If he was left with some cowering feelings from that, it can probably be fatal.

Technique - 4.5: Being able to hit 10 balls at once is indicative of his extraordinary ball control. He is the type to have good balance.

Kurobe Memo:
After suffering a major setback, To be able to easily hit 10 balls at once shows his rapid growth. The biggest question at hand right now is if he took severe damage when Byoudouin launched an attack at his abdomen.

Ah, Tokugawa is apparently a softie. Pfft at 'taken a liking to Ryoma' and 'rivalry with Ryoga'. The specialty outside tennis is pretty wtf. Waking up early is a specialty now? Maybe if it's Jirou...

So Tokugawa is a 2nd year? Means Byoudouin was 2nd year when he beat him 'last year'. Funny, I remembered Tokugawa was 3rd year when he was introduced. May have to check it out again...

Nope, he's always been a second year XD

---------- Post added at 09:29 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:24 PM ----------

but yeah the line about him wanting Ryoma as a little brother I found pretty amusing. Also, I think waking up early is a special skill...I wish I had it...I know Kaoz has it. That kid was always awake before me when he visited >.>

I do wonder what Tokugawa has to show in his match against Byoudouin. I have a feeling these are only the stats he has let the coaches collect (since it does seem Byoudouin has some pull with them and he probably wants to hide his true capabilities. As it is, he'll get crushed with these stats.

So Mirror Eye can bounce back other tech that's not mental effect as well, it seem. I don't think it would help much against Mouri, since Mouri doesn't show any special tech, unless someone would count dislocating his arm as a special tech. If Fuwa bounce "dislocating", that'll be insanely stupid.

And Stamina 4=being able to last 2 match? That's nice to know.

I also got the waking up early skill myself. Got up no later than 6:30 am without alarm, unless I party hard last night.

And I'm certain Tokugawa had something more to show as well.

@Sai, is it possible that 1st stringer stat are "outdated" because they just come back from oversea? 3rd court have been training this whole time and got the updated stat on the coach data. On the other hand, I think this is the 1st stringer 1st match since they come bacK?
